I remember saving up at my first job, 15 years old… getting a ps2 and this game. When I got home and saw the intros I was floored. Going from ps1 to ps2 was crazy, after being used to Nintendo graphics and gameplay.
one of the first games i had when i got my ps2. loved it when i was young and it still holds a special place in my heart today. the story mode may be a bit weak and the commentary is abysmal but honestly? i can't complain about this game! also did anyone else have an absolute BLAST with the creation modes, especially create-a-taunt?? SUPER fun.
The first I got was This and then a year later spider-man came out and I bought that none of these kids today know the feeling of being able to buy a game at Walmart and play the complete game no micro transactions just the game and then using your 30 minutes on the family computer to look up cheats 😂😂💯💯👿
I remember trying my best not to cry when I went to get my shots for school because my Dad promised me he would buy me smack down if I didn’t cry lol I ended up crying 😂 but he brought me it any way
I remember buying this at Walmart in like 2002 when I was like 10, and asking the nice lady there "Can I have that one?" I pointed at this game, and she said "Just bring it on?" So there you go.
Je fais la démo 50 fois à l'époque ce qui m'a donné envie d'acheter le jeu ! L'un, si ce n'est le meilleur jeu de catch. Pas de combinaisons à la con, pas de bug ou casi pas. Un bon jeu old school !
To be fair actually the graphic was pretty good as it was developer's first attempt in PS2...you could compare it with the previous Know Your Role and you will see the different...regarding the intro, it was not the first game who use cutscene much better than the graphic of gameplay itself....however the story was suck though :(
@@marklopez9287 hell yeah. That was my move when me and my friends did backyard wrestling. Also the back flip. I was a daré devil 😈 I wanted to be a Hardy boy
It’s too bad the intro graphics weren’t the actual gameplay graphics. But they definitely improved the graphics after this game in Shut your mouth and Here comes the pain!
I used to think it was cool that a wrestling game had commentary. I didn’t really think of how bad it was though. Looking back it’s funny how bad the commentary was.
What I didn't like abt this game was the Life bars. What happen to the spirit bar? That was developed by Asmik Ace Entertainment and AKI Corporation, Published by THQ. I feel the wrestlers move so much faster then the Nintendo 64 WWF No Mercy. I feel there's was a lack of Damage animation. Wrestlers get up so fast that they seem like they shake off the damage the min the get on there feet.
I definitely smashed 3 controllers over this game along with Smackdown 2. I also almost broken my PS2 in anger by punching it SO hard to the point where it would not open or close anymore. It’s all because of that annoying Neckbreaker move. Every time a wrestler does that move or counters me out of nowhere, I start throwing my controller and beating my console up, too.
This game came out just around the time I stopped watching WWF. I got it anyway and hated it. Stone Cold's entrance in this was such a disappointment compared to his Disturbed one
I have a strong mix of nostalgia and anxiety watching this. At release, I remember being amazed by these graphics 😅 and the commentating is pure doodoo 😂
I was so disappointed in this game. It was basically a next gen Smackdown 2. The engine sucked..it was glitchy...commentary was HORRENDOUS. Glad they made up for it with Here Comes the Pain.
