The Smith & Wesson Victory Model revolvers were made during World War Two. Basically it is a S&W Military & Police revolver except chambered for 38 S&W, or as the British called it, 38/200. And they had a military type finish instead of polished blue or nickel.
The vast majority of these were sent to England or British Commonwealth countries. But over the years many have found their way back into the US. Some were sold commercially in the US at the end of the war, but most of those were chambered for 38 Special instead of 38 S&W.
It`s not uncommon to find these guns that have been refinished and rechambered for 38 Special, but this one is still in original condition.
