Lloyd Collins was born March 4, 1919 in Page, ND to Frank & Harriet (Parker) Collins. During World War II he served as a radio operator in Italy and Oran. Following World War II Lloyd graduated from NDSU and served in the Army. He was a manager at Nels Vogel Music Store in Moorhead and was organist at Olivet Lutheran Church for over 45 years. Lloyd enjoyed playing the mighty Wurlitzer organ at the Fargo Theater. His hobbies included photography, camping and trains. He passed away on July 26, 2011, at the age of 92.
Maurice Lykke was born November 4th, 1925 in Elk Horn, Iowa to Martha Hansen Lykke and Carl Lykke. He grew up in Elk Horn and on November 17, 1942, Maury enlisted into the United States Navy. He served on the USS Elden as a gunner and saw combat during "Operation Forager" and "Operation Detachment". He received honorable discharge on January 26, 1946. Maurice passed away on December 30, 2018, at the age of 92.
Both of these interviews were conducted on November 9th, 2006.
