My only concern with Rey Fenix in WWE is how much they try and tone down his style. They're definitely giving the wrestlers more freedom in their matches recently, but his style is still far from the 'WWE style'. Penta would fit in much easier and basically not have to change anything he does to fit in in WWE so less worried about him.
I don’t think Paul would let a Lucha House Party situation happen again. Not that LHP did too bad in NXT before Vince got his hands on them completely. But I would like to see them build up a LWO though. Just like I’m hoping to see a merged Bloodline. Bigger faction wars are pretty fun. Just don’t let it get to New Blood vs Millionaires Club in WCW levels. Or NWO levels either.
Dexter Lumis went through a hell of a transformation to become a member of the Wyatt Sicks. The dreads and the beard make a difference. He could always do the deranged look really well but this adds to it. I'm glad we'll see them wrestle unmasked, and this should be a good match next week. It will be the first real test on how long this gimmick and idea can go. AEW losing Penta and Fenix would be a huge blow to AEW's tag division, which has become a bit of a joke anyway. Them going to WWE could be a bigger shocker, but they need to be toned down, they are very reckless and that style would get someone hurt. Even with WWE going to Netflix for RAW and having a bit more of an edge. Of course, Punk mentioned Punk Derangement Syndrome would send the IWC into a frenzy, it's a sad really medical issue among "Elite" fans.
Let’s be logically here the only high flyer who actually got over was Ray Mysterio if he went to WWE he would just be a mid card act stop thinking everybody will always be a spectacular act in WWE🤦🏾♂️
I have absolutely no faith in WWE presenting a lucha-styled wrestler as anything but fodder for unmasked wrestlers. Rey is the only one who has had real success, and even then, he’s spent more time in the middle of the card despite his top of the card crowd reaction.
I think they could do good things with it if allowed to. Problem now being that aside from Rey the rest are basically jobbers. With the (extremely arguable) exception of Dragon Lee. A more legitimate LWO tho, some hot shit.
The luchas would stand out in wwe. The problem is no one in wwe compliment their styles. So it'll drag them down. No matter how good you are, you need decent dance partners. Wwe don't have talented wrestlers. They have performers.
Wonder why Triple H is holding The Wyatts off PLEs? Missing MITB to set up SummerSlam would have made sense, considering August is the most significant month for Bray (not least the month of his passing last year), which I assumed Bo and WWE would have agreed on...they also have a 3-hour PRE-show now, and there are names like The Wyatt Sicks and *all three* sets of wrestlers in the Tag divisions (two of which are on SD the night before)...
My guess is they want something special for RAW being it's stuck on SyFy for another week. I do agree it would get a much bigger reaction at the PPV, this could also be the true test on if this gimmick will hold water, once we see them in the ring.
Amazing to see him and Triple H right before SummerSlam 2024; it was 25 years ago at that event in 1999 that Jesse refereed his WWF title match with Austin and Mankind...
I don’t think they should ban the leg slap. But I’ll agree that they need to use it at the right moment. For instance most super kicks suck these days suck (straighten your damn legs fully) and don’t deserve the noise. However a Drew claymore kick is something that is valid in having loud slap heard as it impacts.
I knew they couldn't wrestle with those masks on; and it would have been unnecessary, as they're even making jokes on air about how obvious their identities were (to everyone except Chad)...🤣🤣 Apart from Nikki, for some reason; we know who she is too...
If Penta and Rey go to WWE most of their matches will be aginst the LWO. Except for the inevitable tag team split that will end with a 6 star match of 5 minutes on the Summerslam pre-show. Go Indie, go Japan, anything but WWE.
They apparently did that to shut out AEW Collision (which even *I* didn't think was necessary, and I watch all shows); they didn't think to make SummerSlam *itself* an hour longer (being a Big Four show) and instead they brain-farted a *three-hour pre-show* with likely NO matches on it... 🤣🤣🤦♂🤦♂
I think the bigger issue is WWE not really having many tag tag teams that are tag specialists. So many of their tag teams are 2 established singles guys thrown together to give them something to do
