Playthrough part 1, thrown in at the deep end. We move. Mic issue but I'll sort that for part 2! / theosolomon1 #wyll #theosolomon #playthrough #bg3 #baldursgate3
Hey everyone thanks so much for the support on this 1st stream it was great; I've been away for the whole of January but I'm back soon and we're gonna make these playthroughs consistent starting in February. Love to you all x
@@AntwKats Neil is a D&D fan to begin with so that helped. Plus it looked like they had fun doing the live play. I mean, seriously seeing them physically go from being themselves to their characters was awesome.
One does not rush perfection. Hence why I got some game sessions to come up with appearance, voice race/class build, background/backstory and name for future playthroughs.
I mean as mutch as I like Wyll's character its clearly overlooked by many but he just have this straight up "good guy" energy right from the start and people tend to like more dark misterious characters like Astarion and Shadowheart. Im also one of these people that like more darker characters that I can slowly work with to uncover their secrets and help them become better person and make them good or at least decent. Tho I think this was the hardest game in my life to just pick a party coz i really loved all of them and could never decide who I want to go with I tend to sit in camp for half an hour picking who to go with lol
I think it's a lot of sympathy bias. a lot of the other characters come from abusive backgrounds, cults, various forms of social control, so the player feels compelled to "help" them and they seem more dramatic. Wyll has more of a sense of himself and doesn't seem to need the help quite as much, making some folks probably see him as boring. he's really a great character!
@@mtthw1597 except there's a huge difference between having a preference towards darker characters and calling a character boring because he's more put together. Really that says more about the player and how they need to be messed up in order to be interesting than anything.
Wyll was my favorite companion! Felt like the only other normal person (or the only normal person period, since I was Durge) in the camp, just looking after the maniacs as they go about causing mayhem. Later on I really fell in love with him as his character developed.
I legitimately believe that Wyll is the main character of BG3 if we ignore custom and Durge. The prodigal son returns from his adventures to come save his father and home is the story of many main protagonists. Also he’s a human so it really helps connecting with him.
As much as I hate to play favorites, Wyll is probably the coolest character of the crew. Your voice work for him made him sound both sincere and eager in his mission, but good-natured enough to be approachable. Top-tier character made incredible by your talent! Thank you! I hope you'll continue with your playthrough!
HOW has it taken RU-vid 12 days to present this to me? Gah! Love to see you here, Theo. Have a great time in this wonderful experience - such admirable voice work from all of its corners.
Watching Theo get so excited in the character creation menu really made me excited too, so glad to see him among the VAs experiencing the game for themselves!
There is a very large learning curve for Baldur's Gate 3, especially with hardly any D&D experience. And I just have to say: Dude, your patience is admirable.
Between Theo, Neil and Tom, Devora, and Sam all playing their own campaigns, we are spoiled!!!!! It’s been really fun to see how the wonderful people behind the characters play within the world they helped to create!! Thanks for sharing Theo!!
Thrilled to see another actor get in the streaming game! I think at this point Tim is the only holdout? Thanks for bringing the game's most underrated character to life.
@@JnEricsonxJust gotta build it correctly. I personally prefer melee warlock but it takes some investment to get it going. Ends up beating out EB by a long shot tho.
On one hand I would love to see Tim play but on the other he's not a gamer or a dnd player and he was so lost on Neil's stream that I think he would struggle so much lol
Theo watching you just scroll past Dash was killing me 😂😂 i have to adult, but now i am also invested in returning for the rest of this saga!! I cant wait to see you meet Wyll!!
I’ve been loving watching everybody play BG3, but I found my cheeks hurt from smiling the whole way through this video! You have a lovely sunny vibe Theo - keep doing you. I’m so excited to see more!
Great job on Wyll man! I made it halfway through, and restarted as Wyll. I changed his class to Bard/Cleric though. I like all the gusto he has, and how proud he is. You did a great job. I like to imagine him singing about his adventures to everyone having rejected his Warlock ways, and embracing his inner hippy bard. Just playing his drum, protecting the weak, and spreading joy through music. Do you sing Theo?
I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes bard wyll!! Especially because in his romance he expresses a great love of dancing. I’d like to see him act more selfishly and more honest about his interests in the future. Plus, he likes being a folk hero and finding poetic ways of wording things. Someone online complained about the fact that he has a story or anecdote for every lesson but I kind of love that about him. I think he’d make a wonderful bard for real!
With me happened the opposite. I started as Wyll, and had to start again because I liked the character so much that I wanted to experience his entire character with voice and everything. But my Dark Urge character is romancing him 😂.
I always have Wyll on my team because a) warlock is a versatile build in most fights that gets SUPER powerful early and b) Wyll's outlook on life is always so great and positive and it's refreshing having that energy in my party
I'm playing through currently with Wyll because I want to see more of his dialogue lines, but I love both him and Gale so much. unfortunately my love for Shadow and Karlach beats both of them and as a bard I need strong ladies with shields and muscles to protect me, so I can only have one caster :(
got as far as "we're embracing the greys!" and decided to go ahead and fall in love with this dude lol I love my silver hairs that have been coming in since my late 20s.
I love this because im also a monk and I was so confused at first, but once you get the hang of actions and bonus actions, it becomes really fun. I feel like Theo's experience is a lot like mine and it will only get better
I know! I was getting so sad we weren't getting as much Theo/Wyll content. Wyll was my first romance and I love it, I would love to see Wyll get more content though, felt a bit shorter than Astarion's romance.
OK. The reason you wiped in that fight is like this.... Each turn you can attack AND move. (And do a bonus action, but don't worry about that right now.) I noticed you would often end your turns without using your movement. If you're not in close, in melee range, always use up your movement. You can tell if you have movement left in two ways: 1) the circle near the bottom right will get shorter the more movement you've used up. It's like a fuel meter. 2) That little line in front of your character, if it's white you have movement left. The line shows you how far you have left to move. That last fight is a race against time. So you have to kill the mobs as fast as possible and get to the controls. The big demons at the end who one-shotted you are part of the time pressure. "Dash" is the little Mercury's winged boot icon on your action bar. You can use it to double your movement, but it uses your attack for that turn. Learn your action bar, consider it like learning your abilities on the WoW action bar. You have many useful things there. Hope that helps. You're actually doing fine for someone who's never played a crpg. You play slowly, read things (usually) and explore (most of the time). Those are good habits and I've watched a lot of new players not do those things. That's probably your WoW experience coming through. Looking forward to the next segment. It will get better. Just read those darn tooltips and don't forget to move! :)
I swear that my Tav had an immediate crush on Wyll the moment he was swashbucklingly beating the goblins with that cheeky smile. Great job on portraying him, Theo. Hope to see you on more projects
I’ve decided Theo will be the only person who I watch play through this game. I love the energy he’s bringing, can’t wait for more. Also love the character you made, and very excited to see the Wyll interactions lol
Doing a great job so far, its a steep learning curve at first. You can play in explorer mode then change it once you get the hang of things. I was cackling when you were chasing the brain. You missed an opportunity earlier on in the 2nd room to make friends with one.
I adore this game, stunning graphics, outstanding voice acting and such a strong story line with plenty of paths to explore. I'm so happy for the team that they won the awards they did! They all deserve it! ❤❤ P.s my favourite character is Wyll Ravengard 😅
Theo!!! you did so good dude! The map is hella confusing lol the minimap is a little bit more helpful for smaller areas - I finally found the option to keep it in place of the compass rather than turning with me as I go. Something in the settings about keeping it North I believe? But fr don't feel bad- my fiancé and I had to re-do the cambion fight like 2-3 times before we got it bc we didn't know where the transponder was LMAO. It's rough but it'll get better the more you level up
This game was pretty easy for me to pick up because I have played crpgs and pen and paper roleplaying games. I don't play D&D, but I knew just enough about 5e to be able to orient myself. But it's a lot to take in at first for someone without that background.
Yeah there's a North facing option in the settings that has helped a TON with that minimap. I have both played CRPGs and D&D, was still a bit rough my first go. I hope Theo doesn't feel bad, would love to see him continue this playthrough.
I am doing my honor mode playthrough right now and this is the first playthrough where I went for the Wyll romance. Great work Theo! Also your guy is literally carrying my run, Potent Robe with Spellmight gloves, Spellsparkler, Undermountain king, Whatever the name of the crit shortbow is... Things are melting when Wyll blasts.
So glad I found this! Wyll is my favorite companion. I just recently finished my first play through, which lasted almost 300 hours, where my Tav romanced Wyll and I just love them together. Wyll's lines at the end game inspired me to start a Wyll origin run where I'll be romancing Karlach. I long rested for the first time and was surprised to see Mizora show up in camp to remind me of my mission. Excited to see what else is in store for Wyll and looking forward to your next video!!!
I'm so glad to be able to watch the voice actors play the game! You all did amazing in your performances, and I can't wait to see your journey on this game!
Theo, you had so many good questions that you asked out loud. It made me just want to help you with some of the mechanics so much. Its rough learning at first, i always played this game with friends so they didnt get lost. Id reccomend having a friend guide you a long the way. Learning how movement can be utilized best, getting use of your main action and Bonus action as often as possible, etc. Good luck! I look forward to watching more!
Happy New Years, mate. Sprained my ankle on the way back from the pub and this cheered me up! Played Horde on WoW but I’ll guess I’ll forgive you since you are a literal gift from God ❤
Bro spent almost half an our on the character creation alone, Theo is truly a gamer like us 😂 It's such a pleasant surprise to see a voice actor as charismatic as the character he played!
Thank you for being apart of this game. Your character is so cool ! I can’t wait for you to see him in action when you meet him. Such a sick introduction line.
Love Wyll!! Thank you for bringing him to life! ❤️ I multiclassed him to Oath of Devotion Paladin to fit his character and he became one of the most OP companions I had.
My favorite actor and favorite character! 🤺⚔️🔥 Theo - you brought Wyll to life in an amazing way! I had so much fun watching you play along with Neil on his channel and at the High Rollers table, and I’m so happy I can watch you play this game! I was hoping for something like this!!! 🤞✨ Wyll was such a moving character, and he really wouldn’t have been the same with just anyone playing him - you brought so much to his story! I can’t wait to see (and hear!) you in other roles. You’re killing it.
Yay!! I wanted to watch more from you! I loved the DnD campaign you were all so funny, you and Gale were hilarious together. I love the blade of frontiers!
I'm so very excited for you to get a chance to play the game. You're an amazing VA, perfect match for the character man. I'm so hoping for a part 2!! You seem to happy getting to play bg3. God bless!! ❤❤❤
so fun watching someone have the exact learning curve I did lol just standing on the ship not knowing what to do. thanks for sharing your playthrough !
