The backcountry mountains of Wyoming are truly a paradise for any hardcore mule deer hunter. After a few years of applying for Wyoming, Zach kenner and his friend Thad Griffith were finally able to draw their mule deer tags. The weather in the high country can be very unforgiving as Zach and Thad found. After three days of snow and rain the sun finally came out and the guys were able to locate and harvest a couple great bucks that any hunter would be around of!

Absolutely breathtaking!!! I’m from Michigan but hunt elk up in the Bridgers on the Greys River and there’s no other place I’d rather be on this planet!

Hard working hunter certainly describes the experience you went through to take your two bucks. You mentioned you shot the first buck at 600 yards which is double the distance that I have ever shot a mule deer. Were you using one of those custom guns that use special hand loads and scope that you range the distance and then dial in the scope for that distance, I have seen several of those guns being used on You Tube videos.

+fasx56 Thanks! yeah those mountains are rugged packed my deer out 8 miles and my buddies deer out 10 miles.. fun hunt for sure.. And yeah i have a fancy scope and i hand load my bullets but my gun is just an over the counter tikka t3 7mm.. i just know my gun and practice at long range a lot! thanks for watching! check out my other hard working hunter films!

Great hunt! Very good camera work too. I noticed both first shots were high. Did y'all sight your rifles in at a much lower elevation? What rifle and caliber did y'all use? I'm a huge fan of Kuiu clothing, I do not have a pack yet...

Wow, what a great piece of work. I could watch that over and over. Great bucks, great scenery, and great footage. Can I ask you details about your binos rig? I've seen big sets on a tripod before, but not small ones. Is there an attachment you were able to use? What kind of optics and tripod were you using?
@hardworkinghunter8487
@hardworkinghunter8487 8 лет назад
well in the video i was using vortex binos.. and they sell an adapter for their binos.. I've changed things up this year.. but yeah you can get adapters for most binos.. just look it up online.. and i was just using a cheap vanguard tripod.. thanks for watching!

I don't care if he dropped or not you should've waited for a more broad side shot.
@hardworkinghunter8487
@hardworkinghunter8487 7 лет назад
thanks for your insight... and thanks for watching! if you don't mind me asking why do you think the deer has to be broadside? just to up the odds of hitting your mark? because even though he was quartered i was 100% confident in hitting the bullseye... yes i missed the first shot... i most certainly let me emotions get the better of me and i jerked the trigger.. still would of missed even if he was broadside... then focused on the next shot hit where i should of hit the first time... in my opinion if your just upping the odds by waiting for it to turn broadside and not 100% confident in your shooting you should never take the shot.. even if he is broadside... that being said if I'm 100% confident i can hit the bullseye, i don't feel it matters what angle he's at... not trying to start a war.. just explaining my side... thanks for watching!
@J2H08
@J2H08 7 лет назад
hard working hunter I'm saying you shot through his front shoulder and luckily had enough kinetic energy to knock him down. I'm not staring a war either but your window of vitals is much smaller when he's quartering towards you. You pulled the first shot so from a viewer prospective you very easily could've pulled it 5 inches to the right and missed the vitals completely hitting him in the flanks.
@hardworkinghunter8487
@hardworkinghunter8487 7 лет назад
well i don't disagree with you... but I'm an excellent shot and i practice A LOT! lol i take my shooting seriously and hand load everything, making sure every shot is perfect... if you watch my other film Wyoming High country mule deer 2016, you notice i take a quartering away shot at an even farther distance.. and again hit the bullseye in one shot... i put in the work and I'm confident in my shooting... go check out the other film... its way better than this one in terms of quality!
