NPC Advantages: no requirements. gardevoir (life dew), burners (drifblim, arcanine), and paralyzers (bellibolt, umbreon, and dudunsparce) help. sylveon (charm) and intimidators (tauros, staraptor) can help but the significance varies depending on sceptile's dragon dance usage which is inconsistent.
Strategy: wait for your stats to reset before taking your first turn. protect. rest + heal cheer if HP gets low, 6x curse. 3x tera blast, terastalize, tera blast to victory.
Notes: you can speed things up by moving some HP EVs to Atk, but the more you move, the more damage thunder punch critical hits will do. for this build they take 67% to 79% of your HP bar. without HP EVs, they take 78% to 92%.
Pros: supereffective tera type, excellent HP stat, great atk stat, good def stat, sap sipper grants immunity to leaf storm and leaf blade (and protect ensures no damage is taken on the turn after the statwipe when sap sipper is suppressed). immune to breaking swipe after terastalizing. curse buffs 1 atk stage and 1 def stage. rest heals 100% of HP bar. tera blast has 80 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB damage when terastalized. covert cloak prevents atk debuff from breaking swipe (pre-tera) and paralysis from thunder punch (post-tera)
Cons: tera type mismatches base type, outsped by sceptile
