Rules Edits: Mission: - VP for Disconnected Firewalls wasn't added - both sides disconnected 2 each though so no change to the overall score - just +2 to both sides. Barricades: - Can't be placed on terrain (unless 'insignificant')
Russ, yet another incredible KT battle report! Everything from your narration to camera angles and scoreboards makes these such a great watch. Most noticeably you’ve slowly been turning me into a GSC fan! I’ve been hardcore imperium through and through but it seems I’m starting to hear the Patriarchs call…
Excellent BR as always. The quality is top tier and everything is very clear. Thank you for these BR and hope you can make this amazing content for a long time. P.S.: I know this isn't narrative play, but your Narrataive Campaign is mindblowing!
Such good production and presentation. Thank you for spending time showing us positioning and other valuable information instead of just filming hands rolling dice.
Great batrep, I really like your editing! You're easily the leader when it comes to making it clear what's happening. I've noticed two rules errors: You can't place barricades on other terrain, and disconnecting a firewall gives 1VP by itself.
😄 yeah, I out a pinned comment about the rules edits can't out barricades on terrain, although someone mentioned you can if it's as a result of the fortify recon action but I'd not checked this yet
Great battle report! Thanks for creating it. I think your style and video length is spot on to keep the viewers interest. Out of curiosity, which mat/board are you using? Which kit is it from? It’s quite nice.
Why is it that every Legionary player goes with Tzeentch/Khorne. Nurgle, my brothers, is the way! Reasoning: I do believe that going with mark of Nurgle on at least some of Legionary models is the way against Horde teams. Against Elite you sure can skip it, but not when enemy outnumbers you nearly 2:1. Tzeentch doesn't do much for you - extra APL ploy isn't going to compensate for enemy activations.
Disgusting vigour as the standard is a great boon. have been kitbashing some nurgle operatives to sub in (although the plan is to do this with all marks so i can give them all a try)
@@GFNGaming you definitely should. I mean, Nurgle gives so many nice things (in exchange for some warts and cough..): 1. retaining 1 crit against ranged translates to negating 2 normal dmg dice (since most often 2x normal DMG > 1x crit DMG). So, less chip damage from ranged. 2. strat ploy for negating 1 dmg on each normal attack dice can easily be life and death difference in melee. Especially on Anointed with his 5+ FNP. Compare that to Tzeentch invu save - invu is nice if enemy has tons of AP- weapons. If not, it does nothing. 3. other strat ploy for ignoring injured, APL debuffs and full BS overwatch - against Horde teams you should be able to use overwatch, so it is already great. 4. tactical ploy to decrease enemy Def - with well placed operative you are giving all your ranged guys practically extra AP-1. I am not sure if "anti-horde" squad is whole Nurgle, or mix of Nurgle and Khorne (for combo of Hateful Assault and Perpetual Aggression to charge, kill, move, kill has such a potential), but I would definitely go in that direction. Definitely Nurgle on all ranged (so gunner, heavy gunner and balefire), most likely on Anointed. That leaves leader and 1 melee specialist marks to be decided.
@@r_4_k-drone4321 1. No, it doesn't, a crit only negates one normal damage dice. You can use 2 normal to negate crit, but not wise versa. 2. Tzeentch also has a second ploy, that gives you an auto success instead of a failed roll if you roll a crit on Defense. It's pretty much made exactly for situations where Invul is useless. Not saying that Nurgle is worse than Tzeentch, it isn't, just that you got a few mistakes.
@@antongrigoryev6381 ofc, you are right, I was obviously over-enthusiastic with Crit saves part. As for Tzeentch other ploy, we are working with Df 3, Sv 3+ on Legionary CSM. To benefit from this ploy you need at least one fail (because if no fails, then it is just wasted), and at least one crit. So it is what, 48 (might miscalculate here?) of 216 possible outcomes, 22%? Sure it is something, but I am not a big fan of it.
@@r_4_k-drone4321 It's still something though. And it's not that expensive - you get 1 free Strategic Ploy anyways. And the offense Tzeentch provides is really quite spicy, especially against 7-wound guys - crit on a 5+, even one per attack, may be a difference between killing the guy with a bolter or not. 4th APL is also pretty good - it won't totally make up for the difference, but will still help a lot, you can move, do objective and then shoot twice. I'm speaking from the perspective of a shooting-focused team. If you want to mix in Butcher or Anointed, then Nurgle will really be better.
Thanks man, yeah I prefer that to videos with hands moving etc. can get a bit messy if you dont have a lot of room end up with a shot of the back of my head.
Big fan of the Wyrmblade, not just because of the narrative campaign. Think they play really nicely give you a nice mix of GA2, GA1 with 3APL. Got heavy hitters in shooting and combat -and some great tactics to play the mission and keep your low wound guys alive longer which is the only weakness i see them having as they are all about 8 wounds max. That being said i've not played all of the specialist teams yet - that is the aim though. Hunter Clade and Sisters Novitiates next up i think
I know we didn't show them at their best, been hearing a lot about using Nurgle against horde teams. Also i think we fell into the melee trap and in this edition melee is a hard game to play.
always love your batreps! Forever outstanding in both quality and humor. I think Legionaries as mostly melee is a bit of a trap and looking over the rules, I've gotta say I think running them as a ranged team and just taking a shrivetalon as Slaanesh instead of khorne (for the extra movement) to shut down an objective makes them far more dangerous. Perhaps a bit less fun though, which... yea just run them all Khorne melee, what am I even saying?
Definitely a misplay in roster for legion with Tzeentch over nurgle against wyrmblade. Especially if you aren’t going to combo off with 4APL when you get the option. Also some unfortunate dice but that’s how it goes. Definitely agree the shrivetalon was misplayed could have lived that turn pretty easily if he had gone and hugged instead.
Its tough, i'd not learned their rules enough either to really suggest better moves, apart from Hateful Assault. Having looked at them more since playing I've heard good things about tooling up a 4APL heavy Bolter guy with suspensors system, move 3'' shoot shoot dash 3'''. Not looked much at nurgle yet though. Ive got a bunch of models ready for painting so i have more options what would be my custom chapter legionaries.
Hey! Is it alright if I use the same layout for introducing operatives in my own battle reports? By that I mean the slider with the information on it displaying their weapons and stuff?
Another great video m8!! Love all the things you do, to make all these videos so freaking enjoyable to watch! Keep up the great work m8! Can’t wait for the next video to drop 😊 Also I need to know, where did you get the custom dice rolling box?
Cheers buddy! I got it off etsy just checked and the store i got it from is no longer trading but when i was looking around there were a bunch doing dice trays with custom felt lining. I just messaged one asking if they could use my own design and they were happy to.
Best kill team battle reports so far. Very good overview of the actions, always the rules that modify actions mentioned and what if scenariors for signifcant moves. Easy to follow and entertaining --> you got a new subscriber :)
Absolutely amazing report - GREAT intro (love the character sheets) and overall edits. Sad to see the outcome though, hopefully next time my guys got it ;)
Another great game, I really enjoyed the terrain set up on this one, had to give you a shoutout on my latest vid to spread the word!. I'm currently painting my legionnaires up, it'll be interesting to see how they do!
Cheers bud! yeah i need to spice up the tiles. I've got plans to use the nachmund box terrain (which - i laughed out loud on your latest hobby video when you previewed it :D) to make some more tiles that i can cycle in with my current ones. I think we made a mistake of leaning into their melee units - i would drop the butcher for an icon and i've heard good things about a heavy bolter - perhaps instead of the gunner or if you were feeling shooty - dropping the annointed to go more gun line. More experimenting required
@@GFNGaming heheheh yeah there’s a lot of Nachmund terrain for sure ! I’ll be busting out the airbrush for that one. I mirror your thoughts regarding the legionnaires. I think multiple builds are viable but when Reddit says they’re meant to be a melee team, it gives me pause. I think there’s some very viable shooting builds, which I’m currently painting up first. I’ll definitely have a melee team as well, mainly for the shrivetalon although as a general thing, I’ve always found melee to be a bit inefficient for elite armies- it’s way too easy to lose wounds in your own activation. Also, I absolutely love the butcher model and will try him out but his rules makes me scratch my head a bit, I’m not convinced he’s anywhere near as good as Warhammer Community tried to make out!
That was a rough one for the legionaries though I'm sure more familiarity with the team will help. I think perpetual aggression and hateful assault are key, especially against such a high model team. I'm not convinced the icon is the way to go though, I'd go mark of khorne on the chosen for free perpetual aggression, and maybe make room for a heavy bolter
I think I like the neutral one because it feels like it has more use, if you're using PerAgg then you're 9/10 going to use hateful assault to attack twice anyway plus if you make room for a heavy bolter and you have an unalligned icon if you can't make a charge for watchever reason you wouldnt waste the freebie on per agg you could pick bolter discipline to shoot twice, You can still take chosen Khorne though so you would have the option to use the freebie for peragg regardless - think i need to try the legionaries a few times with some different load outs - lots of people seems to be saying nurgle is the way to go- or at least with higher model count enemies.
@@GFNGaming khorne on the chosen is as important to be able to use per agg on the model itself as it is to get the freebie ploy. I can see the argument for the icon but there are so many useful specialists it's hard to drop one. I've seen a lot of hype for nurgle too but I like tzeench on the heavy bolter to make p1 going off a little more reliable. Ill be trying chosen, anointed, Butcher, shrivetalon (khorne) and heavy bolter, plasma gunner (tzeench) next game and I'm sure thatll probably change again!
@@GFNGaming I personally would go full shooting. Not sure whether it'll be effective, I just like shooting. Aspiring Champion (not Chosen) with plasma or bolt pistol, Plasma or Melta Gunner, Heavy Bolter, Balefire, Icon bearer, and one normal bolter dude. Though I guess you could take Srivetalon instead of the normal bolter dude if the enemy has lots of melee (Vicious Reflexes are great for defense), but I would focus on his bolt pistol. For marks - everyone goes either Tzeentch or Nurgle, and either Champion or Icon with Undivided (not sure who should get it. Champion will get more benefit from the Mark itself as his weapons are close-range, but he won't have defensive buffs from Tzeentch/Nurgle). This way Strategic Ploys will be maximized in effectiveness - 4-5 of the guys will benefit from Bolter Discipline and 5 of the guys will benefit from your God's strategems.
