As a locksmith, I really don't recommend these locks. Trust me, you want a lock with a physical key. These fail all the time. It's not just the batteries, it's the circuits, the plastic servos, the buggy software, the heat from the sun beating on your door. There's a reason this has a 1 year electronic warranty and manual locks have a much longer (sometimes lifetime!) mechanical warranty. Yes this lock is "unpickable." That means nothing. My manual lock is "Unhackable." Plus, thieves aren't picking locks like they show in the movies. They use crowbars, flathead screwdrivers and brute force attacks. I believe this lock is grade 3 (the lowest grade). Save your money and spend it on something like a grade 2 or 1. Yes, they're "pickable" but your locksmith can install high security cylinders and help make them nearly unpickable. In my opinion, there's a greater chance of this lock being hacked (or dying, lol!) than there is a a standard home lock being picked.

Good insight. Thanks for sharing. I have an on my garage which has multiple entrances. I love the sheer convenience of being able to create codes and use my fingerprint to speed it up when I walk in and out.

What you said is undoubtedly accurate but it is also about give or take, neighborhood security, and comfort level. I have other ways to enter my house if the lock fails. I imagine most people have garage door, back door, side door etc. If your neighborhood has guys carrying crow bar around then this lock is the least of your concern. Your level 1 lock will be useless too. You may need steel bar, guns and security guys. It all depends on people preference and comfort level

@@spintius3752 Yep, exactly. I don't think this lock is the end of the world, but I'm saying it's definitely not a good option. If you're going to put an electronic deadbolt on your door, choose a good brand (Not Wyze), with better customer service, and make sure it has a manual key override. I agree with you, a crowbar doesn't care whether you have this or another lock. I'd spend some money on reinforced door strikes before I bought this lock.

@@kevinwitt8827 I can’t speak to how reliable these locks are (keyless locks - that is), but I work for ADT and our locks are generally reliable with a very little cams where the lock is broken. Usually the point of failure is the Z wave, which these locks don’t have. But you being a Lock smith, I’d have to say you have more experience in these matters. With that said, I would say if you wanted this lock as your primary door and then a mechanical lock on the back door or side door you would probably be okay.

Glad the info helped. Neither of those are deal breakers for me because I have other doors for my purpose if push comes to shove and I use Google Homes. FWIW, I’d be surprised if they don’t add Alexa support since nearly all of their devices have it.

I guess it depends on what you mean by broken? Are you putting on a place that is single entry and only through dead bolt? I suppose there’s a chance it could malfunction. You can charge from outside in a pinch.
