I’ve had Rachio 1-3 here and they’ve worked great, no subscriptions but you pay a premium upfront with the price of the unit. Even if I wanted the Wyze controller they only make an 8 zone, I have 12 zones. Either way, great video I’m a big Wyze fan. Just installed the Wyze air purifier today.
Being a Irrigation Technician i have only come across a Wyze controller once is my 6 years of repairing sprinklers. The most common clocks i see are Rainbird, Irritrol, Orbit, Toro, and Rachio. Rainbird is my preferred then Rachio. My least is Orbit and Toro.

Not sure when your Orbit B-hyve bit the dust, but I have the same controller several moths ago I received an email from Orbit saying that there was an update that adversely effected some controllers and to contact them for a replacement if mine was one of those. Mine wasn’t, and I have had mine for about 2.5 years. Have you figured out any skills that will turn your sprinkler on automatically if you have unwanted guests that come on your lawn in the middle of the night?
I'm curious if this shows up on Home Assistant. If so, you can get around with the paid subscription. A lot of stuff from Wyze does show up on Home Assistant.
The subscription fees Wyze started charging weren't too expensive, but I didn't like the direction they were going. Putting basic features like smart skips behind a paywall just rubbed me the wrong way. That's a core functionality I'd expect in any smart controller, so it didn't make sense to me. Ultimately, I decided to ditch Wyze and switch to ImoLaza instead. With ImoLaza, there are no extra charges or subscriptions beyond the upfront cost of the device itself. Everything works right out of the box with no add-ons needed. As far as smart irrigation controllers go, ImoLaza has been a much better hassle-free experience compared to the subscription model Wyze adopted.
After connecting power I don’t flashing orange and without that my phone would not connect. Installation video is not very helpful showing exactly how the Wyze controller screen would look. All I see is circling blue light that goes from number 1 through 8. Even after I pressed reset it still doesn’t connect to my phone
Wzye has jumped the shark, their cameras work occasionally, there plugs don't work for longer than a couple of days, and programming some of the worst around. I have several of their devices and it's rare that I don't open the app and see "offline" and no, it's not my internet as my devices from other companies are never offline.
Wow I have the opposite view. My Wyze stuff works all the time. Had one glitch upgrading the doorbell but took 2 min to fix. I just have cameras and plugs. For the last 4 -5 years or so. Vacation home and main home.
@@dosdont Agree - You can say the same about Tesla, Ford, GM and any company who sells a lot of products. All my stuff is vary solid and stable. Very happy customer
@@jima7925 I don't think you've been paying attention to what's been going on, and don't get me started on what the news media has been saying about them and their blatant negligence with respect to security. It's shows a complete lack of respect for customers when you know about a security vulnerability and do nothing for 3 years. Then they claim that they can't fix older cameras, which according to experts is bull. They have one job, software, as all they do is rebrand the the cameras and plugs, and they failed. Your experience is an anomaly based on what I've been reading on reddit and even Wyze's own forum. Have you seen their reviews in the play store? What do you think is going on there?
@@dosdont, I've never been on a forum with no complaints. As Jim noted, you can visit any forum and read complaints. My experience with using Wyze products since 2017 has been mostly positive. The only product that was total crap was Wyze Sense.
Hello Great video once again. My question is not on this video but the one you done about. Your Ring floodlight Cam Pro video where you had to replace. I had to replace mine last month because rain some how manger to in the Len. I received and installed the replacement but some times. In the ring app for floodlight cam pro I saw at the bottom right corner a fan blades icon. When I tap it show a statement saying “ outside garage is in cool down mode”. I call Ring and told and send pic an explain to her that the one I sent for this replacement. Never show this b4 and I had it 11 months. She put me on hold came back saying that. This was a new feature added but I never or it isn’t in the WHAT NEW ring app. So I was wondering if you still have yours mounted and have you ever seen this fan like figure in your app. Thank You
Funny thing and I said it in this video.. I tend not to replace something that is not broken and I still use my older metal Ring Floodlight Cam.. I have the Floodlight Plus and Pro as a back up :) Anyways, yes I have seen this fan cooling icon in my Pro 2 doorbell and actually I have seen this since last year..Summer, I think... because that's the time when the setting sun hits my front door, it does turn on and it does warn you that some features might not work...but I haven't experienced it..it still records motion events and doorbell pushes.
@@LifeHackster ok well thanks for replying back. I as I mention I have only seen this on the ring floodlight cam pro. But it’s not even really hot yet but for the doorbell haven’t had that issue. May because it’s not exposed directly in the sunlight. Again thanks for replying back. I figure it was just me who has experience this fan icon showing on a ring device.
Hi, is it possible for you to compare the various models of the Arlo base stations, specifically between the vmb4000 and higher models. Whether the lag is reduced on higher end models.
I just got mine and set it up on a fixed schedule however it didn’t run at all. I placed all my zones on it, should I be scheduling each zone individually?
Wyze is a extortion company, I purchased the sprinkler system, and for 2 years the thing would let me use the minimum, and now they cut zones back I have 4 they give me 3, these people are crooks don’t by their products
I am so frustrated by the Wyze sprinkler controller! This thing is HELL TERRIBLE!!! None of my schedules work! I literally have to wake up at 4:45am to check if it ran. It never runs and I have to use quick run to get it to run. What's the point of having a smart sprinkler controller if I have to get up and run it myself? I had Rainbird controller and it worked without issues. I am so full of regrets for getting this controller. My flowers died because for a long time it never run and I thought it was working until I noticed my grass were so dry and becoming yellowish. Support is totally useless! They cannot help you with anything. I also noticed that the App does EVEN KNOW when the controller is offline. If you don't believe me, unplug the controller from its power source and after open the app. It will tell you it is still connected. While the power to the device is offline, go to settings on the app and click on Device Info, it will magically show you the wifi connection, the connection bar, the IP address, everything as though it is connected. This when I figured this thing is total crap. So for the most part, it may be offline and the app doesn't even know. I will see my schedule running from the app (no notification is sent though) but the actual sprinklers don't work and the controller itself isn't showing any sign of operation. As of this writing, I just went down there to manually run it. I am frustrated with this and it is the biggest regret ever!!! especially when support don't have anything useful to tell you other than send logs that they dont even monitor. I am damn tired of sending stupid logs.
Sorry to hear that. Mine is working good. The only thing that is more of a hassle compared to my old Orbit is that I cannot skip watering multiple schedules. I can only skip the upcoming schedule. Anyways, in your case, try resetting it up and see if it works.
