Just so you know, when dealing with the 16vac bell power supply, from the old doorbell, there is no negative or positive, so it does not matter which wire connect to which screw connection.
Thanks for the video. Because I had the same problem where the install instructions decided to “go away” I used you video to learn the rest. This idea of using the app to house the install instructions is a good idea but it often doesn’t work in execution. I had similar problems with Nest. If Wyze and others can’t get this write, they need better install videos one can find online or simply print the instructions in a leaflet and include with the product.
I'm so surprise you didn't trip the breaker! Honestly that would've been best because so many time did you close the loop. Please follow best practices for energy isolation no matter how small the job. I would hate to see you have an accident jumping a car. Thanks for the install cant wait for a review and comparison of the two.
My father is a licensed electrician with 40 years experience. You’d be surprised how often he works on electrical circuits without shutting them off. Old experienced guys….can never teach them.
Thanks for showing how to use the corner kit. Haven't found another video that shows it and the Wyze instruction booklet, app, and instructions online show 0 information about it besides its purpose. They can't grasp that it serve no purpose if people can't install it.
Does the chime connects to wifi to reach the cam? I want to get this thing but my entrance door is very far from my house. But I got wifi coverage, unless the chime don’t use WiFi to talk to the camera.
You need to show all features including the battery. Also I am not clear if the USB cable will charge the phone or whether you could just keep that plugged in. You need to explain all features of the phone
I covered in this video everything necessary for setup and installation. I’m sure there are many other videos on RU-vid that go Into detail on its specifications. The usb cable can charge the camera, I’m not sure which phone you’re referring to. While the doorbell can technically be plugged Into usb at all times to be “hardwired” it is not practical in the least. Thanks for your input.
Looking for an anti theft door mount for apartments that if will fit in. Is there one you know it fits in? For wireless Doorbell pro wyze. Just purchased. So newest model. June 2022
I don’t know if any personally, and I don’t know if they make any in such a way, but one that would screw into your siding and have a cage around it would be most secure. Thanks!
No. traditional doorbells work by ringing when the button is pressed, which completes the circuit. Since this doorbell draws continuous power, that is why you have to bypass the mechanical doorbell, because else it would be constantly ringing since the wyze doorbell completes the circuit by continuously drawing power. Thanks!
Sorry about that! If you'd like to see how to connect those wires, you can watch my video on the original Wyze doorbell, that I had installed previously.
The only difference is that you have to periodically remove the doorbell to charge it. The chime is required for use also, although you aren't required to bypass your original chime. Is there something I missed?
