My uncle is an OG and been in and out of the system his whole life. He was the only father figure I had to look up to. He would take the time to call me from prison. I can remember running to the phone to talk to him. Sometimes he got me out of trouble with my moms. He would tell her not to be so hard on me. I’m from the streets but I don’t consider myself a hood dude or a shooter. I just know that as a man you gotta hold your own. Never back down and never take a bite you cant chew. I respect you G.

For all the negativity attached to gang activity, it really says something that you can be looked out for and anticipated if you will by the other members of your set. When I was in prison and our queen sisters went to the hole, we wrote them faithfully keeping them involved in everything and making sure the trustees took care of them when we couldn't access them in person.

As a formal corrections officer in Georgia I know the reason why they try to not allow other inmates to see another inmates paperwork. Because if you guys were able to that guy might be dead. Not saying he did not deserve that but it's a liability to the state if he is not protected by the state corrections institutions.
