Been running X Blades on our Hustler Fastrak SDX's for couple years, without adaptors, really no need for them just using factory washer torqued to 100 foot pounds. We setup our deck with just a little over .25" positive rake. Helps alot with Hustler Decks to increase the airflow and discharge higher and further. Also remesuring the deck and adjusting to keep the height pin correct. We rarely mow anything less then 3" so scraping hasn't been an issue. With positive rake on the deck this is even further midigated.

This is a good point about the deck . I had great results on our Scag lowering the front of the deck. Thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment. We really appreciate it.

thank you so much for your awesome video!. i think this would be hard on the pto clutch, the spindles and it would wear out the belts sooner too. thank you!!!

It will create more wear & tear , but the performance is great . Thanks for watching.

I run X-blades on a Scag cheetah 61" with a 38 HP Kawasaki, it makes a huge difference especially bagging/mulching leaves and other debris. Seems to cut grass better and chops the clippings up really fine, which is nice when the grass is long and thick which it often is in the northeast. The downside is higher fuel consumption and extra wear on clutch and belts but that can be reduced by engaging the blades at half throttle.

Yes the start up and shut down is a bit hard on the machine. The amount of suction is incredible, and overall performance is great . Thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment. We really appreciate it.

I tried that arrangement and found that it really bogged my mower when I hit heavier grass. Running a Bad Boy 60” 26 HP. Ironically my MTD 54” 26 HP does a better mulch and handled the X blade arrangement better. Thanks for the info though.

you know, if you are worried that your blade is 1/2" lower, perhaps you should raise your deck 1/2". Just sayin

It’s lower to the edge of the mower deck .

How do deck bearings hold up? Unless the machine is engineered for them I would stay away.

Bearings are pretty cheap to replace, so far we haven’t had any problems. If you change the entire spindle it can be costly. Thanks for watching.

I've got pine needles! wonder if the X blade configuration would do a better job of muching those? I always blow them up in piles and use them for mulch elswhere ... but i'm wondering how well these would mulch pine needles.... mulching blades (non X) don't seem to mulch them very well.

Pine needles are a challenge for sure . The x blades help ,but you still have to spread them out over a larger to mulch .
