We Filipinos set a high standard in singing competition if it is just an audition! Have you ever seen a Filipino auditioned for a talent show who made a shameful act in front of the judges especially those who auditioned outside the country? I guess I haven't seen one! Way to go guys keep it up!
yes bro there was,just a few weeks ago in new zealand x factor..a Filipina from Auckland.I just can't find the video here.And i think it's just not so proper to say" setting a high standard in singing" because it's bragging, even though some Filipinos are good at singing it doesn't give us the right to brag otherwise people will just criticize us instead of praising us. Just saying.

Judgment Day Well, it's alright to praise our kababayan but not to the point of downplaying other people ( other nationalities ) to be exact becaause we might be branded as arrogant and plain conceited.
I'm a Filipino but I'm only impressed with the first and fifth contestant , maybe because we have a very high standard in singing competition here in the philippines . . The barangay singing competition here in the philippines are usually the most awaited ones wherein veteran singers are reunited .
I am only impress with Marlisa because she have an amazing voice tone. I am not impress at all the one you mentioned. They were very karaoke for me. I guess Filipino really loves those kind of shouting voice and not base on vocal quality and tone. It's funny too because among all these Filipino contestants in the video only Marlisa made it to the lives and she WON!! Thank god the judges and Australia have great taste.

A big yes for me same here po sa davao city we sing in the morning our national anthem.and the davao region anthem and the lungsod ng davao anthem and the last in the afternoon ou national.anthem

You know the one thing secret that every filipino have,..are the POWER to cover a song....And to copy even the voice of the artist...Coz in the philippines even the common person can sing well.....So if its a PRO SINGER,you better watch for it coz HE/SHE can shake an stadium with their voices......
And did you know that the first karaoke was invented by a filipino.....That's why we dominate the scene sometimes....If you remember The band JOURNEY....Arnel Pineda 1st ever Asian Singer who sing in that band,....We have a lot of Arnel Pineda here..,i mean as good as arnel pineda.....We filipino dont surprise if a PRO SINGER can sing well....the surprisingly is if a common filipino can sing Like a PRO....thats the time we amaze.....and we have common people here sing like a PRO.....

Can totally agree there, go to Hong Kong and go see the Filipino singing contests and Karaoke bars and the singing prowess of the Filipino people will blow your mind...........It was like the song they covered was like listening to the original artist perform live truly amazing
iam filipino but. ..for me this is only normal here in the Philippine. .sorry but I heard lots more better in the streets singing. .in video machines. ..😊but thumbs up for who appreciate those singer's 😍😍😍😍God bless.
