{X-Files} Scully comforts Mulder

I don't like any kind of violence, especially since Scully is really close to him for that violence to get a tiny dangerous. That part always made me cringe, I don't think it was necessary.

It's not like it's never happened before. Mulder has a tendency to be violent in his grief. I mean this is nothing compared to him choking the crap out of Duane Barry when he sees blood and Scully's hair on his medical bracelet. Mulder's dark side comes out especially where Scully's safety is concerned. He's very protective but there's never been any danger of him turning it on her. As i said Scully contrasts this side with her being able to calm and comfort him. The dichotomy of the character is what fascinates me though. Mulder is so loving, tender and devoted but there are moments when he goes nuts and loses it completely - mostly when it involves Scully and his devotion to her. or when he gets to slap the shit out of Krycek or attack CSM. Mulder was a behavioral violent crimes agent before the x-files, and he had an amazing knack for profiling and getting into a killer's head. You see a very in depth look at this in 'grotesque' and 'paper hearts' Don't be fooled by the puppy looks and heart eyes. Mulder can be downright dangerous at times and it's very necessary for his character because he comes from a dark place of lies betrayal and conspiracy with his own family projecting their own failings onto Mulder and punishing him for his sisters disappearance.

I love it, too. Poor Mulder! 😭😭😭

It was years of anger and frustration at his mom coming out. Her lies and damage she did to his family.

Two opposites attract. They think different things, they maybe want different things from life. They are exactly opposite. I think that it couldn't work beetwen them if Scully was a believer like Mulder, or Mulder was a skeptical like Scully. They complement each other, like a perfect and awesome puzzle.

Charles Pruett Lol has an absolute terrible crier. He is terrible in the most emotional scenes, the only scenes he’s good at are the ones where he’s angry. He always *always* looks like he’s going to laugh.🤦‍♀️

Olivia Febres he’s not the strongest when it comes to crying scenes. But if you’ve seen “Return to Me” or even “The Secret” he can on occasion pull it off. Lol Every actor has their strengths and weaknesses.

yes but nothing beats the kind of distraught of him crying at Scully's bedside in the middle of the night in Redux arc. Mulder's had quite a few distraught moments in the series though.

rochey1010 I agree. One such moment is also the scene in "One Breath" episode when Mulder returns from the hospital to his devastated flat and burst into tears. It always breaks my heart. :´-(

IIIJFRIII I'm pretty sure they did, but kind of kept their feelings at bay. scully always seemed upset when a couple of Mulders exs and what not were around. Mulder flits with her a decent amount before they finally get together in season 7.

Yes they suppose not to cry but it's very rare occasions when men cry. It means their grief is too strong 😭

I don't think so because in Rain King it is strongly implied that Scully tells Sheila that Mulder has never even kissed her yet. Imo they had their first time between Milagro and The Unnatural, look at the contrast in behavior between these episodes, plus Milagro made them realize how in love they really were.

daddeezgirl626 Your welcome : ) P.S Someone over heard Chris Carter say season 11 will not be like anything we are used too. And something about Scully may not be in all episodes of season 11 because Gillian Anderson who plays the role of Scully is too busy doing other shows. Also, Scully may have her name put of the basement door or on the office desk. And the dog Dagoo will be on season 11. My guess is Scully was taken by the spaceship, and mulder got healed somehow, looks after Scully's dog Dagoo, and has her name put on the basement office door or desk in memory of her and for when she returns.
