Always a great video. I really really appreciate all of your help with my channel this year and your friendship. I really enjoy hanging out on the beach with you. So glad Hayley is doing so great. Have a great Christmas and New Years. Hoping we can hit the beach this week. 🎄🎅🏴☠️🙂
Jim!!! The gold magnet!!!!!! I'm just another happy subber.... Love you guys... The Pirate, the Magnet guy from Monterey and the rest... Thankful for the effort and the enthusiasm you guys show us landlubbers....😅🕊️🙏☝️🤓 Day two, those grid marks are very similar to the Robert Furgeson's signs., Y'all hunt the same beaches.....
You found some wonderful treasures and Haley is walking so well now! For the "would you dig it" I think it is that beautiful cross you found! Merry Christmas to you too, have a wonderful holiday season! Great video, thank you!
Now that you have had time with the D2 for a while, since they seem to be about the same price range which do you think would be a good choice for someone stepping up to a "professional' detector from their first detector???
I think it is more important to understand the soil and ground you are going to be detecting as the Deus 2 is awesome without a doubt but it is built as a discriminating master machine so while it is discriminating out iron it misses all those deeper targets being masked by our iron rich black sands. To prevent the discrimination you have to adjust many settings and turn on accept black sands instead of rejecting them, once you have made the machine similar to the Nox in all metal mode then the deus 2 doesn't run as stable. So on my local beaches the iron rich sand the minelab machines perform really well, as Minelab has produced many great beach machine and really understand the phenomenon that occurs with targets being masked. XP has only made one machine the you can use on the beach. When I feel like not digging trash and just want to dig good targets I break out the Deus 2 but I haven't really found much gold with it, so not many videos have been made of me using it.
@@funwithjim Thanks, Not only am I coming up from a more amateurish machine I am going to be doing a lot of traveling with it so soil will be changing from beach sand to desert to mountains. Salt water to fresh water. I guess whatever I buy I am going to have to figure out programming it for different situations. If I were to stay here in Fla and use it on beaches of crushed shell to white silica, I could buy the best machine for that. I need to figure out which machine is easiest to program because I will be doing a lot of that. lol
Deus 2 is a very good detector! It separates the targets well and it picks up deep signals. I've found relics from Viking age and even from Roman times with it here in Norway. But then we're talking fields (old farms) of course, not beaches.
And there's no lighter detectors than XP. Low weight can be a big pluss after many hours metal detecting. But I also have the Equinox and I like that machine as well.
Thanks for another great video Jim. I didn’t know you were a former golf pro…. That’s awesome. I would dig that nickel. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Happy Holidays to you and the family as well. Great hunt. That Deus has my interest. I’ve been watching Monterey and he seems to like it so far. Merril from NYC swears by it. Could be my next machine depending on the official outcome of you and Daniel’s reviews. I love the 900 but I’m not afraid to try new things. Nice finds with the cross and gold earring.
I am going to give the Deus 2 it's final test today, if it works on the black sand I will be happy but the 900 is outperforming the Deus 2 on depth in all metal mode.
Jim, you can always change all the levels on the tones to make them fit your ear. Also play with the magnetic reject and the ground tracking in the black sand. I will tell you this with hundreds of hours on the machine .71 update was the most stable in saltwater. If I could have a perfect machine it would be the D2 with the manticore screen. The core is just 2 unstable in saltwater.
Great video, from what little I had seen of that X Y screen feature on the Deus II I figured it would be pretty useful. Always looking forward to seeing more videos of you finding your way toward getting the most out of that machine. The week to weak progress on Hailey is also good to see, hopefully she has a giant milk bone waiting for her under the Christmas tree. My Lab loved those.🙂
@@funwithjim I love it, if my Lab heard the ice dispenser sound, she always ran over for an ice cube or two and I always gave them to her. No cheaper of a treat and she loved catching them too from pretty long distances.
Interesting video! I've personally been eyeing the Deus II and your video only made my feelings even better. For the wydi, the machine is saying "dig it", so I would also dig it and I am guessing its a war nickel.
I'm happy to dig everything. Tent stakes, rusty hooks, bottle caps and pull tabs all day long. A cracked ring can sound like junk and a thin ring can sound like a pull tab. I also do it for all those that walk barefoot on the beach too.
if rusty then line move diagonally \ while if in good shape at times it gave the / good dig direction. So I dug a lot, however I did set the machine up to detect most all metal. So if you boosted the bottle cap reject it would have ignored the rusty but still hit on the good shape caps.
It’s great to see Your dog is doing well. You should let Monterey magnet man know about all new medal detecting devices. I bet at he would sale a lot of items. His bike ad was amazing.🚴🏻♀️
I love your content, my favorite detect channel for sure. I know it would be a pain but I sure wish you could break down your videos by detector giving us the chance to study your content by what we own. Thanks Rick….
Hi Jim, i’m very happy to hear that Hailey is doing good. Would you try a video with the manticore? Just to see if it compares with the Deus? For the wydi i thinks it’w a bottle cap!!
Just changing one tone for another, a friend of mine has a Deus and the screen is hard to see and gets crazy interference in town , you have to dig everything
Hi Jim, Haley and family, I pray you all have a very Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Years. First time winning anything ever. Thank you. God bless and enjoy your life
actually I have tried the Manticore it really is a great machine, I found the 900 to be a little deeper in all metal mode and both are not that good on our black sands. I have not really had a chance to test the Deus 2 on the thick black sands but from what I have tried it is better. XP gave me the Deus 2, I still prefer the Nox 900 over all other machines if only because of how deep it is in all metal mode. We certainly are blessed to have such great options to choose from. Thank You 👍
Hi Jim. Merry Christmas. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos. I watch and enjoy each one. I would dig it. Sounds kinda trashy, I can't see the display, but maybe it's a nickel.
