I'm very much amazed what you did there, also appreciate the long tutorial in the name of the community. My question would be how do you configure the micro transmitter? Lua freezes on my xlite even with newest firmware.. I'm sturggling :/ Thanks for the help in advance!
Hi man, thank you for reaching out. :) You are not the first one to ask this question, and the solution is to replace the two lua files. I wrote the solution to some another guy on FB the other day, and here is a screenshot of what I wrote: tbs.sourceworks.dk/Pictures/Lua.png This is a direct link for the pull: github.com/opentx/opentx/pull/5985 Hopefully I get the time to add all of this to the guide tomorrow to help other confused people! :) Good luck :)
Hi! Thanks a lot, I'm going to try that! :) I've wasted about 24 hours triing, upgrading firmwares, calling mates with different Transmitters, upgrading their... headache. Ridiculous that in 2018 after all the accomplishment of mankind I still have to mess with firmwares, mismatches on overpriced chinese gadgets...
I'm happy it's working out. :) I have used this setup directly on servos using CSRF (On a Bonzai V2 fixed wing), using CRSF on iNAV (on a TBS Caipirinha II) and using S.BUS on a Eagle Tree MicroVector (on a TBS Caipirinha II) with zero issues and full telemetry working as expected. :) I hope you get the last quirks sorted out! Happy flying
@@klattrup7912 I just did the internal mod, thanks for documenting it so nicely. I do, however still have issues with the lua scripts hanging, even though the patched script already made its way into opentx. (I did try to grab the scripts from the merge request even to no success). Any idea what else could be going on?
Hi Chevy, I believe I get about 6 hours of flying time with the module. To be honest it might be more, I usually charge my batteries when they are half way down-ish. :)
Ok so I’ve been thinking to trade in my old x9d for one of these but I run the crossfire micro tx, so this mod is it something most people could do or do you need a micro engineering degree? Alternatively you fancy doing the mod for a fee :)
I’ve just noticed and read through the quite you’ve added, for me I don’t think I’m quite that talented to do it, but I do like the first idea with the smaller case, looks like something I’d be able to do, do you have a thing verse for the case design? And also does that just clip in or is there more too it? Cheers
Hi Brad, thanks for reaching out. :) In the guide you can find a link to the 3D printable files on my thingiverse and there you can find the square box prototype design. This box can not be be mounted in the radio by itself, and my original idea were to cut a hole in the radio and fit the box in that hole. I'm afraid you are on your own if you want to go that route. So, that being said; if you read my guide and understands what it is I'm doing (and understands the risks involved) and you can solder up your own quads - you'll be absolutely safe doing the mod. Most importing thing is taking it easy and not trying to do everything at once - follow the guide and you'll be fine. :) A lot of people has done the mod by now and none of them have asked me to add more detail to the guide, so I believe it should be covering the process pretty well. :) Happy modding and best of luck :)
Hi, you wrote something about a charging socket on the page that you've linked. The current charging-situation is what's stopping me from buying this otherwise awesome Tx. What exactly are you planning to do and even more important - when will we see it? :)
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. :) Before I got the radio and when I prepared the mod there were a lot of chatter about faulty caps that could come off mid flight and what not. I haven't had the slightest issue with my caps and as I have what they call "a version two" of the radio, I'm 99% sure any issue has been corrected. There is no way my caps will ever come off by accident! :) Don't hesitate anymore, just do it - it's an awesome radio! :) Good luck if you decide to do the mod :)
@@klattrup7912 what about making a connector on the free space where you could swap the moded crossfire and disconnect to use a external Multiprotocol module to have frsky and so on? I will give a try on that
That is one of InYourChill's livestreams featuring lofi :) I almost always have this running the background when I work. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eFOdPRkVHms.html
