From 2005, here is some video shot by my good buddy Art Vuolo, of Phlash Phelps, the Morning Man on the "60's on 6" Channel on X-M. Phlash has a very popular call-in show and knows the U.S. like no one else!! This is part 1 of 2.
Just got XM in our new car and we love listening to 60s on 6! Why didn't I buy the car sooner!! Great shows especially Phlash!! Love all the commentary and where he travels. Even if you aren't our age you do a great job!!
Phlash, thanks for having Cut Bank Mt. city of the day 1-18-12. I have lived in Cut Bank since 1966 and enjoy your show since it brings back memories of when I first moved here.
Hi there Phlash.I,m from Glace Bay,Nova Scotia, and listen in my car constantly.Love the station.Tried to call several times, never got thru.Anyway love the sixties, and your comentarys.
Hi! We are a loyal Canadian listener -- right now we are now in New Smyrna Florida (just one of the many snow birds). We just love listening to all your adventures and especially "Route '66". We did that trip the after we were married --44 years ago and really had a blast. Keep up the good work and all the best to you and "Cousin Brucie"
started subscribing this month really enjoy your show. I drive 600 miles a week in the Hudson Valley section of NY,PA so keep up the great tunes.I am 64 so I remember all this music. Tom Wappingers Falls,NY
I love listening to your program don't listen to all the old fogies out there to say you talk too much it's called personality radio for reason! I think your show is fun insightful and really a hoot I get a real joy out of all the phone callers that tune in so don't listen to all the people to say you talk too much TOO hell with them if they don't like YOUR show you know what they can turn on the DIAL and listen to something else but guess what..... They are still listening aren't they because they love it!
AHHH! Phlash was a DJ on 100 KHI in Ocean City, MD when I was growing up. He came to a going away party for our friend when she joined the Army. It was just 6 of us in my best friend's basement but he was so cool about it. Gave us all autographs and everything. "I will pour candle wax on my radio dial, because no one else comes close by a mile!" Great guy.
What a great video! I may have actually listened to this broadcast back in 2005. He mentioned Lesley Gore being on the next day, which I heard most of. Phlash Phelps is so cool! Sadly, I do not listen to the 60's channel any more thanks to the dumbbells at SiriusXM ruining the channel. Thank goodness for Internet radio.
Just retired, Love when you talk about your travels around the country. I want to start traveling while I'm still in good (reasonable) health. Please tell me your top 10 places to see. I'll write you back and let you know how it went.Bob Mattingly
So this is Phlash Phelps. Wow, what a surprise. He's a nice looking guy. a lot of times I look up D.J.'s and they are ugly as sin and belong behind a mike. SO Hello Phlash, I am from Maine and listen to you everyday in my car. The 60's was my teen era so those songs mean a lot to me. Keep on playing my favorite songs. Love you Phlash!
So, I was listening when you were playing Otis Leavit's Sitting by he Dock of the Bay.and it skipped live on the are. You are a riot and know how to make the most out of a bad situation. I normally don't like DJ's to talk all the time but you have a way of making it very interesting. Keep up the great work Phlash! I will be listening - Judy is my name and I am from Maine.
@@videoholicreturns Hey Phlash, My bad, I meant to type Otis Redding, Otis Leavitt is my neighbor. ha ha. and it looked like I misspelled air but that was due to auto correct. Thanks for the reply and explanation of the "skip" Love listening to you in the mornings in my car. You read a lot of emails and I think that's incredible and either shows that you really care about your listeners, OR you are good at making it appear that you care. I'll take the first reason. Judy from Maine.
Kevin Ware This morning you reported Kevin Ware was taken to Methodist Hospital in Texas. He was taken to Methodist Hospital in INDIANAPOLIS!!! (I listen to you often...what a memory)
He's amazing and I'm an on air talent myself but nowhere close in skills. I like most that mic sound as if he's inside of a hollow room. I wonder how to get that sound.
I have this station in my car and i love listing to it. My question is can you request songs on the weekends ? I have the number that you can call during the week i just wondered if it would be the same number to call. Sat the 3rd of feb me and 2 friends will be going to turning stone casino to see The Letterman show at 8p
Thanks for your comments! I've heard all the horror stories about what the Sirius/XM merger did to XM, it's a crying shame! The only two "live" jocks left on Xm, from what I've heard, are Flash and the Motormouth...that's it!!!
The Friday Sonic Sound Salute ALWAYS kicked off my weekend. It's sad that Sirius pulled MOST of the good shows from the lineup, the Beatle Bell, Here and There, Sunday Soundscape, and even WAX YOUR WOODY! Glad Phlash is still there, I don't catch the weekday show since I listen to Opie and Anthony but I do listen on the weekend mornings when he's on the air. Hopefully with the Liberty Media takeover and Mel resigned, maybe these shows will come back!
From the good old days of "60s on 6," when they were much more daring in their song selection. After the merger, they made the channel too much like the old Sirius 60s channel; the song selection was drastically reduced. Thankfully they retained Plash Phelps and Terry "Motormouth" Young. I miss "Top 6 on 6" and the Beatles at the top of the hour.
Listening this morning, something said about replacing Andrew Jackson's picture on the 20$ bill. I have more respect for Jackson than anyone mentioned today.

FOR A PRIME TIME SHOW YOU SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT THE MUSIC THAT YOU ARE PLAYING INSTEAD OF GEOGRAPHY, BRIDGES AND ROAD SIGNS AROUND THE COUNTRY THAT NO ONE CAN RELATE TO AND KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT. ITS BORING TO ALL OF US . WE WANT TO HEAR WHATS BEHIND THE MUSIC WE ARE PAYING TO HEAR .I CANT BELIEVE THE PRODUCERS ALLOW THIS . EVERYONE THAT I KNOW THAT HAS XM FEELS THE SAME WAY . TALK ABOUT THE MUSIC THAT WE PAY TO HEAR . THANK YOU
Network Video That's why we have Lou, Brucie, Pat and Dave on the air. They lived this music. Remember I wasn't alive when these songs were out and would be bad to talk about music I never played originally. I didn't choose to be on the 60's on 6 but let's see.....I've had 13 bosses in 15 years and how many are lepht? 2
+Phlash Phelps Don't worry about that guy, Phlash. I'm 65 and for years listened to Hudson and Harrigan in Houston, Texas. When they retired I was heartsick and didn't think I'd ever enjoy my morning commute again. Then I found your show and the fun is back. Keep doing it your way, my friend.
