Great first episode, it had me 5 minutes in with the justice for Cyclops moment. Hearing them call Storm an Omega level mutant was icing on the cake.

When Storm got her scene I literally cried it was so EPIC.

God I forgot Cyclops used to be strong, confident, and determined. I'm so used to him being all depressed and not intimidating at all in everything the last like 20 years lol

This was so damn epic! Hearing Cyclops say give them the forcast. Storm going Omega Level 5. By turning the sand to glass with her lighting. Also seeing Gambit charge up his staff and. Throwing his staff at Wolverine. Giving him and extra boost to get airborne.

I will say a couple of things, guys. First, I’m glad that Morph actually gets to be a complete character now; he/they were created for the show (albeit based loosely off a 60s mutant called Chameleon, who died before the decade was up) and meant to die in the opener just to set the tone. But because the creators and fans liked him, they retconned his death by hastily putting his voiceover in the Season 1 finale (the bit where Sinister is monitoring Scott and Jean) and made him a recurring victim; now that they’re a full part of the story though, Morph can actually have a dynamic role. Which includes showing them and Logan in downtime (Morph was the “only one who made him laugh” but we couldn’t really see it). Secondly, I had forgotten that Roberto de Costa is from a wealthy family, and actually leaning into that makes him a great contrast to former newcomer Jubilee. That said, it still irks me that even this adaptation opts to change his ethnicity- he was originally designed to be Afro-Brazilian, and the insistence to make him lighter-skinned that the comics and elsewhere indulge feels wasteful (especially when you don’t need to cast a perfect ethnically accurate actor for voiceover; he could be any Latino plus black and it would work).

Really glad I discovered this channel through this recommendation. Great commentary and genuine reactions. Loved hearing your thoughts post-episode. Great to see my boy Cyclops finally get the recognition he deserves after being shunned in the live-action. Great work 👏

I enjoyed this debut more than any other Marvel -Disney Plus series to date. The writers, producers, and ainimators have successfully replicated the look, relationships, and feel of the 90s series - while modernizing it. Note: Gambit is Cajun, and his accent is spot-on. Great reaction, guys!

😂😂😂you guys crack me up & they kept the theme song! I like how the animation looks & them keeping it kinda old when it comes to some of the movements there doing , the music was 🔥 & love them giving Cyclops respect he’s needed for awhile other than X-Men Evolution I haven’t read any x-men comics only seen tv shows & films so this was good. I always forget they made an X-Men anime & love the set up so far

You may not know this, but despite being released after the comic “Age of Apocalypse”, the two-part animated story “One Man’s Worth” was actually conceived of *first* and the comics writers decided to copy them. Because the comics don’t have that production time it came out first, but it’s actually the comics imitating something they knew was good. And why wouldn’t they, especially as they did their own stuff with it.

I didn't watch the original series, but am tuning in for this. So far, I think its fine. I'm not a huge fan of the CG animation and some of the 90s cheesiness. But overall, its fun. Marvel Studios already made an X-Men animated series when they produced Wolverine and the X-Men. I really liked the tone of that show.

Love the series so far

I grew up with X-Men: Evolution; I don't think I've ever seen the original '97 series. So hearing these voices, especially for Rogue and Wolverine, just feels wrong 😂 I'm sure I'll get used to it. But also, I had no idea about the whole "Rogue permanently gaining Captain Marvel powers" thing! I was like, "wait, how is she flying? Who did she copy? What's going on?!" 😂 Thank Google for answering it for me.
