X-Men '97 is an American animated television series created by Beau DeMayo for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team X-Men. Fun fact: When Scott was little, his dad pushed him out of a burning plane, along with Scott's little brother Alex (Havok) in his arms. They had the only parachute, but it caught fire on the way down from the falling plane debris. That's when Scott's optic blast first activated to slow their fall, but on impact he still suffered some brain damage which is why he can't turn them off. Oh and any X-Men combo move involving hurling Wolverine at something is called a Fastball Special; the OG one being Colossus throwing Wolverine at enemies. How do I know all that geeky comics shit? 90'S X-MEN BABY!

Cyclops has been my favorite X-Men character since was a kid. To say the last 24 years have been abysmal for the character would be an understatement. They did did him justice in every way possible in this episode. I nesrly cried during the Black Bird sequence.

Yes!!!! I have been saying for years that the X-Men films did irreparable damage to the character of cyclops. This show very quickly showed all those people who grew up with the films that Cyclops is that dude!

After 30 years, he finally gets the justice(respect) he deserves. They did a tremendously good job on him and the team. And do not forget to mention Storm, they are truly the first and second commandant of the X-Men.

@@birddude12 She’s an omega level mutant and her powers are wide and varied. She can fly, shoot bolts of lightning, control the elements and weather on a planetary level, a skilled hand to hand fighter, a leader, has the potential to use magic, and people just like her overall.

Sometimes its easy to forget how passive aggressive Wolverine and Cyclops are to each other. Of course, Wolverine usually starts it. But deep down, they care about each other and do work together very well.

The X-Men's first animated appearance (somewhat) was on 1966's Marvel Superheroes, where they appeared on the episode, "Dr. Doom's Day" on Prince Namor: The Submariner, then in 1981, they appeared on the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends episode, "A Firestar Is Born", in 1988/or '89, the X-Men had a pilot episode called, "Pryde Of The X-Men"

Storm can absolutely be taken out that easily. lol, omega level doesn’t make you invulnerable. Even Cyclops and Gambit are alpha level, but still can be shredded by enough guns.

Storm frequently makes herself invulnerable to the vacuum in space by literally altering the atmosphere she can very well deflect simple fire. It's just a case of writing being sacrificed to move the plot.

Storm has literal flash froze guns before the bullet left the chamber. A sneak attack with a gun will kill any non super invulnerable mutant obviously. But you're not taking Storm down 1v1 with a gun bffr

To be fair about Storm being knocked out quickly; yes, she's a powerful omega level mutant, but that's how powerful her powers are, which is controlling the weather, but her durability isn't heightened, at least not as far as I know. But I could be wrong.

One question I have to ask. When are we getting *Reboot 02* ? If they can come up with an new X-men animated series that continues on from the final episode of the original that ended back in 96 when Professor Xavier died, why haven't we got a new Reboot series that continue on from when Trojan horse Megabyte has complete control of the Principle Office and warns the sprites and the binomes to prepare themselves for the hunt, instead of that trash that they come up with.

I heard somebody say something about X-Men 97. I didn't know what it was. Then i saw kevin smith and Marc b, love them, say they weren't watching. But then i saw your short. And i had to watch the show. I watched the first three episodes and couldn't wait for the fourth. You express a lot of my emotions watching this show. I'm a sound man. I have an old sony surround sound system hooked up bigger speakers. Im mad i don't have a proccessor to use Pa speakers and run this at concert sound. Love your take dude. Morph can use the physical attributes of anyone he morphs into but he cannot replicate powers. for instance: He morphed into Archangel because he has wings which he is able to use.

This episode had ten times as much stuff as al of the movies combined. Like the quality of the first scene of the first movie quality for like four or five hours. Its so good. Like i cant believe i felt so much in such a short time. There's no wasted time or monentum. This was like all exactly what i didn't know i needed to see on top of what i exactly wanted to see. Like yeah i want to see cyclops. I wanted to see him lead and beat up people. They literally stuck that landing. I wanted see storm kicking butt. Turning the sand into glass and turning the sentinels into scrap metal. Morph bringing in archangel, metal wings not feathers. Charging wolverines claws. This was like Jonathan frakes directing insurrection and calling out every battle command in ten seconds and getting the game controller joystick popping up on the arm of his easy chair. I swear I think they're pulling our legs. It had to take three hours or better to showcase all this magnificence

Gambit (who's 6'2") and Logan (who's 5'3") did their combo looked so funny to me because the smaller man lifting the taller guy seems so way off. Cyclops is out-of-character when compared eith the '92 series. He smiles before attacking which he never usually do as he is more of attack first-talk later guy. And using his optic blast to "Moonwalk/Backslide" was cool. His optic blast can destroy mountains but it only caused a small, shallow crater. Gambit never throws his Bo staff before but I guess he ran out of card decks to throw at Logan. Poor Storm, she got two great entrances to a fight in the warehouse and at the desert but she ended up short on both scenes. The Blackbird is undetectable in radar and hits Mach 5, so how a defective, slow-flying Sentinel was able to catch-up and undetected? I wanna see Morph doing a lot of heckling. Bishop got knockdown so easily in the warehouse despite being an experienced soldier. I miss Jean Grey's moanings and the boobs and buns of Storm and Rogue which were lacking in this episode. All in all, I find this episode quite fun...on to the next episode!

Did you spy the serious continuity error with the original show (which I just watched for the first time recently)? They show a photo of the original team, which is comic book accurate, buuuut not accurate to the show, because Angel was never an X-Man in the original show, let-alone one of the original lineup.
