Jay if this is possible with our beloved X-men Tas. Just imagine if they bring back Batman Tas with this budget and impactful stories you might be in the hospital.😅
Which X-men would I be I think Iceman before he was gay. (Sorry not trying to be homophobic but who he was and is now differ so I had to make that distinction.) Like Bobby my dad was pretty conservative and traditional and judgmental of things that werent. I often felt like Bobby that I wasnt always respected and treated like a child and would hide how I felt about that treatment through sarcasm and humor. Like Bobby I was pretty girl obsessed but struggled with making any of those relationships work. (I am worried that one day a redheaded girl will out me, lol.) I am highly artistic and creative and probably not living up to my Omega poential yet., I would team up with Colossus. I'd freeze them and he can smash them to bits. Thinking in terms of age. I think I would actually be more closer to the New Mutants of Gen X age so I will probably date Rahne or Blink based on the girls that I get a long with and would have chemistry. Team I would be on Alpha Flight because I know as a mutant I would automatically get drafter on that team or their lower groups Beta Flight etc. Otherwise I could make it to Xaviers it would be New Mutants or Gen X. I would wanna be like to be like Gambit with that charm and style.
My gateway was either my older brothers comics or watching Spider-man and the Anaziing friends cameo of them I cant remember which occured first. My inner child never went to sleep
Everyone in their reactions seem to fault Charles for going after Magneto due to background conditions. The philosophical debate takes a backseat to the preservation of the planet. If they don't repair the Earth's magnetic field, then all life on earth would die. That is the most pressing situation. They weren't there to take out Mags, they were there to get him to restore the EM field or failing that force him to.
I don’t how many people miss that. They mentioned the time frame in which earth will die if magneto doesn’t stop the interference to the magnetic field but no
I love y'all conversations after the episode it's so interesting to hear everything. Especially with Magneto and Professor Xavier about neither one of them is right nor wrong 💯.
Jean Grey's battle against Mr Sinister is maybe my favorite sequence of this episode. I swear to god Western Media never seems to know how to depict Telekinesis as a great ability to use in the field and Jean's use of Movement/Defense/Offense is so well done and a major upgrade to how Jean is usally potrayed. But Mister Sinister legitimately did not disappoint. His teasing of him knowing exactly when the swap between Jean and Madelyn occured was so evil and He was pulling out techniques that remind me of Naruto with him traveling through Shadows and Darkness and with his true Ace in the Hole being Cable the tragedy is boosted even further.
You’re in the right place, Alec! My favorite reactors are Jay 3 Entertainment, The Reel Rejects, ComicsExplained with Rob Jefferson, and Comic Pop crew featuring Sal, his wife Tiffany, Ethan and Ben. I know a lot about the Marvel lore, so I always turn to these guys.😊🤓👊🏾🤍💙
Amongst all the high points, Cable flexing his immense psychic powers was definitely the high point for me. Something that most people don't know about him and it's great that they showed it in this episode
@@kingjaven13 I would have to look up just how powerful he actually is, I don't think he's a reality warper like Franklin Richards but I know he's up there
Bruh... Banshee and Archangel died on Genosha, lol. Banshee got deleted with the mega cannon ONSCREEN, lol. Him and Marrow. And Archangel was right by the window when the first blast hit the party.
I’m a child of the 60s and 70s so the John bryne/Chris Claremont/Terry Austin comicbook run was when I started. From 111/112 to the climatic 136 issue I was in like flin.
I got into X-Men comics when I was about 8 years old. I loooved the X-Men video games. Then the next year X-Men the animated series came out and that changed everything for me. This was right when The Legacy Virus (Marvel’s version of HIV/AIDS) was published and Colossus died from it. I had family members who died of HIV/AIDS, so the legacy virus storyline had me in tears. Combine that with the cartoon series and I was HOOKED ever since. I am a card carrying X-Men fan to the highest degree.
Couldn’t have been too bad or there would be court dates, Disney is the biggest entertainment company out there, if he’d done something even small as a seed the media would be all over it like Jonathan Majors.
I remember in the early 90s, the Death of Superman set off a series of events in comic books. Superman died to Doomsday. DC wanted to kill Batman but didn't because they just killed Supeerman so instead they had Bane break his back. Wolverine had his adamantium ripped out. All 3 of those events to me were HUGE growing up and were similar in ways to breaking down/killing the hero. My 3 boys brought that energy and reaction! Best reaction channel for nerd culture Edit: I found my Onslaught comicbook from 1996 where he is finally defeated! I won’t get into spoilers but it was crazy
I would say that Andor (I can't believe I"m saying this) and X Men 97 have been my two favourite shows the last few years. Better than House of the Dragon, Shogun, The Boys, Invincible Season One - all GREAT, mind you - but these two show, for different reasons, are on another level. Put the entire season one of X-Men 97 in the theaters, on the big screen? You're selling out the house even if we've watched this cause it's just snapping on every level, from music, visuals, writing - all of it.
Charles has to keep control for a reason. Magneto doesn't understand that if Xavier decides to walk his path you get more than you bargin for... you get Onslaught! They aint reasy for that yet. But we are!
Charles will be seen in the wrong regardless of his virtue. His hopes were in error to the reality of humanity. That's his biggest fault. He wants the utopia that will never come. Magneto wants his people to survive and thrive.
@@LucLightWolf121 And yet Magneto would set into motion the destruction of the planet, which will inevitably destroy the majority of the mutant population too (Asteroid M ain't that big). I understand Magnus' anger, but it doesn't justify his actions. Magneto is one of my favourite comic characters, but make no mistake, his anger has led to a supremacist mentality that is deeply flawed. Hope for a better tomorrow and those who inspire it are a large part of the reason we in the real world haven't completely destroyed the planet or each other yet. We need people like Charles, even if they do get under our skin sometimes. Damn, X-Men 97 be bringing out some deep discussions 😁
@@benjaminbarker6226You're completely right and that's why Magneto is such a great character. His point of view is internally coherent and intensely sympathetic... and then the writers (good ones anyway) twist the audience's sympathy until it breaks because it's never too long before he starts acting like a comic book supervillain again and doing things nobody can defend. And X-Men '97 has like the ideal execution of that premise of Magneto. We were all with him until he turned off the Earth's whole magnetic field! 😂
@LucLightWolf121 Charles wants all to survive..Magneto only cares about "his kind" that's why Charles is right bc he has hope...he knows humanity has the capacity to care bc we see it in great moments of tragedies... For Charles it's not a matter of us or them bc all are children of humanity.
@@Enigmaticbeacon that episode proves he can imitate powers but he likely needs to know how to actaully use them so if he turned into magneto he wouldn't be able to just control metal
Cyclops defying Xavier's order to save Gold team show's he's slowly stepping out of Xavier's shadow and becoming his own man. The writers are subtly planting the seeds of for Revolutionary Cyclops. He's coming the revolution is coming.
And I love it. Scott loves Charles like a son to a father. However, his beef with Charles is absolutely understandable. The Summers, in particular Nathan, are the future for mutantkind. They side with Xavier. However, they are fully aware of the real world they find themselves in. Xavier wants the ideal world. Summers wants to live in peace in the real world. The pragmatism of Cyclops and Cable is what will be needed when the Summers's Rebellion pops off.
The ❤️🔥 this show is bringing, the movie talks have started. But...we can't rush it. Let's just bathe in the milk and honey before they give us soy and agave nectar
Morph is so cold ! He can mimic physical attributes mimic physical abilities of those he morphs into ! Imagine if morph has mystiques training !!! He is weapon x gold, Xavier not innocent he has a roster of heavy hitters on purpose that he minimizes and keeps an eye on ! Xavier is collector ! Magneto may be militant but you get a choice on what’s in your best interest for you and those in your community based on sheer facts of how society is and will treat you , your parents and children .
I feel like they wouldn't have went after magneto if he hadnt specifically also crippled the earth magnet field- aka dooming everyone alive to uv death
he didn't doom everyone to death he just disabled all the tech and turned off the power and as seen in the episode there are still clearly things that still work, people would just need to adjust, most people would die from a lack of food as a lot of their food would go bad without power to keep them fresh and though a lot of people would die pretty much right away from the tech and power being shut off most people would live as long as they adjust to a world mostly with out power and tech
@@Ashadar_Resouleydid you not watch the episode, they mentioned it several times how magneto complelty messed up the earths rotation and that the planet would soon die because of it, magneto himself said he didn’t care when he recruited rogue and Roberto. This is seen with Jean mentioning the planet would be done in twelve hours, how Xavier warned magneto what his actions were gonna do to everyone and he didn’t care, etc etc. Like ma entonces needed to be dealt with because if he didn’t reverse what he did millions of people were about to go under mutant and human.
@@bjwill9047 12 hours is plenty of time to undo it also all the tech would still be fucked so the real problem is that magneto sent the world back into the dark ages and it would take years to replace all the tech that was lost and by that time the damage is already done
Philly in the House !!!!! this episode was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I got into x-men through the x-men cartoon from the 90's on Fox kids like ya'll then playing the video games including marvel vs. capcom 1&2
They definitely setting up for Apocalypse so Wolverine can get his metal back. Maybe Gambit is Death, Wolverine is War? I thought this episode might be the beginning of Onslaught.
And this is how a new age of terminator films could be made. It's all through here especially in member it. Judgement Day happened in 97 in the first Terminator
The humans needed to turn over everyone involved in the genocide of Genosha. It was more than three people. When Bastion in front of the screen with Dr Doom, Baron Zemo and the countless others, they are all responsible. The people who provided the money, the facilities, and and land toward the creation, of the Wild Sentinel.
That’s the thing though, multiple earth’s politicians voted and petitioned for it. The UN SECURITY council funded it covertly, they’re all complicit and responsible.
i find it really dumb that doom was even apart of it, i feel like he was put it purely for a cameo. When has doom ever hated mutants? are you telling me there isn't a single person in latveria that is a mutant, seems unlikely
@@Ashadar_Resouley This is a tv adaptation. Meaning it is under no obligation to follow every characterization of something that happened in a comic book. Comic books geeks can be really annoying at times. If you are not spoiling the plot to a future storylines, you are complaining because something did not happen exactly like it did in the comic book. Well guess what, someone decided not to make Tony Stark an alcoholic and not to make Captain Marvel one either. And someone decided not to make the original Ant-Man a wife beater or to have Charles Xavier lusting after Jean when she was a young student. Understand that these changes are made for better storytelling and wanting the audience to feel a certain way about a particular character.
I’m so on the same page with you on Wolverine/Hugh Jackman. People think he’s amazing because he’s been the only live action interpretation. I just never bought into him as Wolverine but he’s done well in the role.
For the record Morph can copy a fraction of the abilities of who he copy if its not energy powers, telekinesis or telepathic. Juggernaut was only size and a little strength he was not unstoppable infact he was flippable.
I believe when Rogue tackled Logan as he attempted to attack Magneto initially, she was aiming to prevent the events that transpired later on. My interpretation is that Rogue is strategically playing the long game and could potentially be acting as a double agent.
People got on Wolverine. He's a wild card. He is rough. Unorthodox, hot head. He's slash first, ask later. Magneto isnt for the patience. He like listen, Im not waiting around for people to treat us with respect when we can wipe them off the map. Xavier believes eventually the good will change the prejudice. I could bring up the parallel in real life... but you know it, so you understand!! BLKneto aint for another Mute being killed who minding they business!
we can add leech and the others that were with magneto at that moment to the "100% their dead" list for this season, honesly really hope someone is actaully making that list because id like to know just how many and which characters died this season
I can understand why you're hype about Wolverine. But I liked that fact that THIS series didn't go Wolverine-crazy like every other production of X-Men. They gave Gambit his moment, gave Cyclops and Jean Grey the lead and full importance to the X-Men that they truly had. We see the bond between Storm and Jean, see the REAL love Rogue had for Gambit, instead of her constantly telling him to keep his hands to himself. We had the big bad ALWAYS lurking in the background and they fleshed him out for those that don't know. The gave the Martin Luther King vs Malcolm X overall ideology arc it's proper focus seeing as the X-Men was based on the Civil Rights struggle of African Americans. They even managed to slide the very real politics of PERCEPTION into it, by Bastion exposing Xavier's "non-death" to the world, thus using the very real tool of propaganda to skew public opinion against mutants before anything was done. The old tropes of prejudice and fear are still here, but what they lead people to do, and how bad actors take advantage, is new. Fantastic!
Cyclops bungled the team assignment for the two missions. Wolverine vs Magneto, that's obviously imbalanced. Jubilee vs her man, could have been avoided. Nightcrawler vs his sis, I mean come on. Also the only thing we know that hurts Sinister is Scott's optic blasts. The two teams should have swapped missions.
To answer Jay 3's question: I'd love to team up with Rogue as far as X-Men goes. In the Marvel universe, I'd love to team up with Gambit. To answer Ronin's question, my introduction to X-Men was the comics & watching a few of the X-Men 92 episodes. When the 1st season of X-Men 97 is done, I'm watching all 5 seasons of the old X-Men series. I have to...for my sake.
"It was only three people." It started with three people *this time*. And it only started with a charismatic few the time before that. And the time before that... It keeps happening, and a lot of people are complicit in it. This is why nobody is surprised when it keeps happening.
That death alone hurt Magneto so much. But how did he survive? Why did he not go after Bastion to get his revenge (as he more or less promised)? I hope they'll explain it.
See in y’all’s discussion I agree for sure I think Magneto is justifiably angry but he’s not directing it at the right source right now But Onslaught is coming that’s for sure
I see them bringing in apocalypse, having gambit and wolverine as 2 of the horsemen. Also interested in if they show what happens to his body when cable unleashes his full power
Why in gods name did wolverine go on this mission ? He is completely useless with Magneto . Rogue turning wasnt a shocker we seen it coming plus she had her villain outfit on . But yeah this show has blown my expectations away . And onslaught is coming
Idk, they could go to so many places here: is bishop gonna save the day?; did cable just trigger the phoenix force?; I spotted some low key Kang references; I’m too hyped tbh
As long as Storm can swim, she should be okay. If not, then maybe a NAMOR (cameo) will save her. Jean will turn into the Phoenix proven that she not her clone was the Phoenix. Wolverine will heal himself and be left with bone claws and an even more feral attitude. Forge will simply eject from the plane.
Morph's power set is not physical, though the show does depict it as such. His comic power set is cosmetic. Going with a halfway road, I'll accept he has 10 ton power up level beyond that, no.
I'm going to be real with most of y'all, no one really understands what Magnus went through, you're and neighbor's and friends being locked up in a nazi concentration camp and being branded with a number, then at a certain age you discover your powers and fast forward you and your wife have a beautiful daughter, moved to a village that you thought was safe place for you and your family to live. You save them for an accident and they repay you with fear by setting your house on fire with your daughter still in there only too see her leap out of the window while on fire screaming for you and her mom. Falling to her death right before your eyes. Yes my friends on that day Erik lehnsherr died and Magneto was born. There's a lot shit this man seen and experienced
It must be a different version of Magneto. His daughter was a human Ana, if I'm not mistaken, but this is supposed to be a continuation of the Animated series where Magneto had two mutant children he learned about very late because his wife left him. They retconed so many things, that I cannot be sure he's still a father to any one at all.
@@marvinlynch1305hey not trying to underplay genoaha. But jumping from thousands on genosha to the entire human race is not a fair play. Magneto was about to end the earth entirely
Please let's stop the false accusations regarding Morph's abilities. When he turns into the Hulk, there is an aura about him when he attacks the Sentinels. That is Jean's telekinesis enhancing Morph's attacks. Morph doesn't get the abilities of those that he morphs into. This is proven when he turns into the Juggernaut and gets owned by the Prime Sentinels. It's purely limited to physical traits & appearance...nothing more
Pretty sure morph had hulk strength. He doesn't have it fully but it's still a force to be reckoned with. I think the reason juggernaut morph was so weak and was able to be tossed is because his powers come from magic. She morph just changed into a big dude without powers.
