Yeah it's gonna be hard to get someone better than McKellen and Fastbender as Magneto. The script for me has some problems but gosh Fastbender is great with his preformance
honestly, the magneto scene with his daughter broke my heart and I couldn't stop crying out fear of my daughter. Why Fasbender became one my top actors from that moment.
Same here was great ! I honestly think the older actors and the reboot cast will be in Deadpool 3 but I’m not sure about Nicholas hoult now that he’s at DC but since Deadpool 3 was filmed first maybe
I'm not sure who should've played Apocalypse, but Oscar Isaac was the wrong choice. The soft-spoken voice doesn't come off as scary as he thinks it does.
I think Peter knew Magneto was his dad. That’s why he decided to break him out, after hearing who to break out from Logan. He was just too hesitant to straight up ask into his face at that point when he met Magneto
-En Sabah Nur translates to "it is a bright morning" in Arabic. -Scott is the older brother, not Alex (big sticking point with me in this movie). -Scott's sunglasses have ruby quartz lenses, not rose quartz.
I won't say this movie is horrible. It just could have been sooooo much better. Apocalypse is one of my favorite X-Men villains and I wanted the regal intelligent brutal force more from the comics or the animated series. 🤞🏿I just hope Marvel/Disney doesn't wait too long before they give him a proper phase (Age Of Apocalypse). It's re-watchable though.
So bittersweet. I remember sitting in an airport reading a magazine with an article on this movie. I still liked the movie. I did have higher hopes but I still love what we got.
Here the retcon Azazel is the still the father and so is the Christen Wagnar Sr. Mystique is also a parent!!! Mystique borrow the sperm from Azazel and Christen Wagner Sr. and made Irene pregnant. All them are parents of Nightcrawler. Think of the third parent situation.
I give this movie a solid B. For reference, Days of Future Past is an A in my book, and Dark Phoenix is a C. But Apocalypse, for all its flaws, was very entertaining. Great soundtrack, solid acting, cool sequences including one standout not mentioned in this NR video: when Nightcrawler rescues Charles from the pyramid - REALLY cool VFX showing how Nightcrawler teleports. As horrible as Apocalypse’s costume and make-up were, they got Nightcrawler, Weapon-X Wolverine, Storm, Psylocke and many others near perfect. A fun and somehow re-watchable film.
This was the best X-men movie so far the short scene of magneto losing his wife and daughter and looking up screaming “Is this what you want for me !” 😮 Such a powerful scene and then he goes back to kill the men at the factory and apocalypse comes and kills them instead 😂
I agree with a lot of the issues you had with this one. Its supposed to be the one that takes place in a corrected timeline but they managed to muddle it in regards to the students. Oh and quick silver suffered from the CW flash syndrome of not being consistent with his speed.
This movie really has done good moments, despite the many flaws. I still enjoyed it overall, even though it followed too many of the same beats they'd hit before.
I love how Wolverine is the only mutant we see Striker being terrified of because Wolverine hates him so much. That's why he saw through Mystiques ruse in X-2 who was acting way too calm.
Exactly after everything he's been through it would've been awesome to see Polaris instead of keeping Magneto suffer again bc it's been done and tested by focus groups so it feels not only cheap but it's expected. He should've been a dictator creating Genosha
Apocalypse should not be the one-time-one-movie villain. He is literally a big boss in animated series , and can come back in multiples ways. But the thing is Fox didn't knew how to deviate from the formulaic movie making unlike Marvel who came out with Thanos in Infinity war saga. Imagine having a villain with multiples power set but still lose in just a movie
Say what you want about this movie , the scene where they all use their finishers on apocalypse while Jean goes Phoenix while the fox men theme plays was the most xmen shit they’ve done in all the movies
When mentioning Nightcrawlers outfit in the theater scene you did correctly mention that it's similar to Michael Jackson's Thriller outfit, however it is also similar to Nightcrawler's own comics outfit, though he does get the comics outfit later in the movie as you mention as well. Also, while it's fairly recent and seemingly not all that liked Nightcrawler's parentage has changed a bit to be where Mystique essentially morphed into a male with Azazel's DNA to have Nightcrawler with Destiny.
28:47 29:18 The costumes at the end of the film were cool, but definitely could've been better imo. I'm excited to see what costumes they get in the MCU & whether it'll be just like the comics, or if they'll put their own spin on it. I personally love the concept art/ fan art Lucas Werneck did for the MCU X-Men costumes tbh.
Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing the X-Men in their costumes from the end of this movie in future movies too. But then we got Dark Phoenix instead.
You're wrong about Nightcrawler's parents. It was recently retconned (maybe after this was written) where Mystique impregnated Destiny. Mystique pretended to be pregnant by Azazel, for reasons
This movie was not as bad as people think. If you like Apocalypse they did a good job with his character. Unfortunately the post credits hype never paid off (yet)!
@@joeblankenship377 yes. But I feel like that minister sinister will be better as it gives a reason for the other mutations to be in this movie as the Fox movies have a loose thread that Deadpool can fix.
Not only is Quicksilver wearing a Rush shirt in that scene before the mansion blows up - he’s specifically wearing a Moving Pictures shirt. A nod to him moving things that are essentially “still lifes.”
X-MEN Apocalypse is not the worst. If you didn't like it, that's fine, but some of us actually like it and some of what got from it. Apocalypse was terrifying in the nuke scene, and that scene alone is worth the not so great stuff. No, it's not perfect, and for some disappointing for what we didn't get, but a lot of hard work goes into these movies, and as you pointed out earlier in the video with what Oscar isaac had to go through to give us the character Apocalypse as best he could and he did an amazing job as with the rest of the actors and crew. I mean, no disrespect. I love this channel, but I can't sand the disrespect some of these movies and actors get on the internet for the dumbest of things now, and it's so hard to just enjoy whatever you're watching you know. I am a big X-MEN fan, both the comics and the movies. There's good and bad things in both there's no denying that. Just please refrain from statements like that in the future and remember that moves are art and subjective, you know.
I honestly wish this was two movies. One about the team coming together and learning to trust each other and one about fighting apocalypse. The parts that I enjoyed were the Jean/Scott/Jubillee/Kurt scenes and I wish they had time to breathe.
Idk what everyone says it's one of the best X-Men movie ever. Magneto's tragic past, charlas and the school, young mutants, Apocalypse's shield and armour matches with Kang 👀 big comic Easter egg, quick silver cool scenes, Wolverine cameo, last boss fight, a complete story even if we ignore geene OP powers..... ( The only unexplained point in the movie).
Whoever designed and made that opening human history title shot must be punching the air right now at the detailed inspection of their work for millions to wonder at.
