This is comics at its peak, engrossing story, amazing action an drama, crushing destiny. It is on par with ancient greek great tragedies

I just watched the whole Injustice and Injustice 2 everything story that was hours long you are best for putting that because I can't get these comics in Singapore.

The 90s series actually does a really great job of adapting this accurately. I’m not a big fan of when the X-Men are dealing with cosmic entities, so I tend to like the idea of Jean always having the Phoenix within her from the start. But that’s probably because I grew up with the movies and not the comics.

Been waiting for awhile to see this always have loved the Dark Phoenix saga

the rise and fall and rise and fall and fall and rise and rise of another (5x I think) and fall of the rise and re-rise and then un-rise (honestly don't know if those are words) and then the rise again of the goddamn Phoenix.

The Phoenix cosplaying as Jean Grey by wearing a skin suit becomes a more interesting character than her (up to that point in comics) in far less time.

I feel like the writer/director of dark Phoenix Simon Kinberg read the epic Phoenix saga/dark Phoenix saga and thought to himself... this isn’t practical, I’m going to change this… That’s unrealistic ,I’m going to change that and completely disrespected and underminded Chris Claremont‘s amazing story… I saw an interview with Simon Kinberg giving these BS reasons why Lilandra /the imperial guard Jason Winegard/the hellfire club Weren’t included in his “Adaptation” … He said that he didn’t want to take the focus off of Jean so instead ... this genius hires Jessica Chastain to not portray LiLandra ! Lol But to play a stoic bland version of Vuk The leader of the Dbari that were damn near wiped out when Jean/Phoenix had the “munchies” ... instead of using those same actors to adapt the hellfire club .You have generic shape shifting extraterrestrials ...I felt like he did not appreciate Chris Claremont‘s writing first of all ,then he deliberately wrote a Senseless idiotic plot... Like he could do a better job! Since this was his first time directing he Should’ve told another story… Not one that meant so much to so many people for so many decades...I’ve never sat in a theater feeling so disappointed and let down… There was a scene we are Jessica Chastain‘s character starts to extract the cosmic force “phoenix force “out of Jean and I got really angry for some reason the phoenix force is not some serum or Disease that you can just easily suck from someone pores lol It had me livid lol They have turned it into some MacGuffin that Adversarial aliens or after to use as a weapon and to reform their planet / re-populate ... And chose to try to erase the fact that it’s an ancient in mortal cosmic entity … That’s the worst thing that you can do to something like that he basically turned a God into some type of steroid ! I was not one of these people that was hating on the movie before it came out I was defending this movie and I was so disenchanted leaving the theater because now all those people were right and I was wrong and I was hopeful and left disappointed as hell I’m gonna stop with my Rant I’m pretty sure nobody has read this whole damn thing LOL I just needed to vent...Sorry for any typos lol

Man I love the John Byrne /Terry Austin artwork of this classic run. Claremont /Byrne are the reason The X-Men became so popular.

I don't know if I'm in the minority, but I really wish they didn't resurrect Jean after this arc. It defanged the impact of this story and further made future comic deaths more irrelevant.

Nightcrawler says "Surprise, Leibchen" in the comic at 12:10. Which is embarassingly misspelled. It's "Lieb"-chen, which means as much as Sweetheart, in german. The word isn't as popular these days, and often used with Nazis in movies (for some reason. It's just "Sweetheart"...) I don't know if this is commonly written like that in the comics, or if you own a rare misprint. It's wrong nonetheless. SHAME ON YOU, Kurt!

Im surprise that this is the last FOX's x men movie because ever since that FOX give back the x men and the fantastic 4 to Marvel and Disney , I will like to see a x men movie by skipping the origins , also I think it would be awesome if Mr sinister was the first villain in the first movie because X-Men has pretty cool villains besides magneto , apocalypse

I'm amazed at how close the animated series paid to the source material. I wonder if a proper movie adaption will ever be possible. Awesome just seeing Storm giving it all she's got against Phoenix. Can you do the story that leads up to this as well?

love the classic book better.. I did not hate movie but it could have been better that's for sure.. I feel in order make good movie from X-Men "Dark Phoenix Saga it would have to be at least 3 or 4 movies, and of course there would have be at least few movies leading up to Dark Phoenix Saga as well. all in all say 7 to 8 movies could be made out of this.

I'm here because I'm not that familiar with the comics, but am intimately familiar with the X-Men TAS dark phoenix saga. I believe it was an entire season, actually.

I think the story may do well if it's adapted by marvel studios. The story itself us tied into much of the marvel universe so I think that having those characters and such may help. We shall see

My God, I'm just imagining how this could be adapted better for the MCU if they plan to. Probably not going to happen for another 20 years.

2 heroes that became extreme threat to heroes with extreme power. Jean Grey became Dark Phoenix. Bruce Banner become World Breaker Hulk. Who du you think wins. World Breaker Hulk vs Dark Phoenix. Fact of World Breaker Hulk winning: Remember when Phoenix tried to kill Wolverine but Wolverine kept regenerating while slowly moving towards to Phoenix and Killed Phoenix with just a stab in X-Men: Last Stand. Hulk can also regenerate very fast and has better regeneration than Wolverine because Hulk has survived the biggest punishments like world's most dangerous poison. Hulk is also very durable too but Phoenix is less durable since she got killed by Wolverine. Hulk has gotten a new healing power. When Hulk gets ripped apart. Hulk can just fuse together again. So my thought is Hulk wins.

Comicstorian Benny Ya know, they really could have done sooo much with this arc if they had built it up right years ago, but it isn't something you just do...but why would we excpect them to do it accurately. I doubt we ever see it done accurate in film. Sad really. I have learned that cinematic, and tv rarely get my comic arcs correct. Thanks for your channel i always enjoy watching your stuff and rehearing some of my favorite comics.
