Just picked up a Wolverine LE and upgraded the sound pack to the 90's music/voice callouts:) Added some Bowen statues of Beast and Cyclops and just ordered the newton mod for wolverine. This game looks, plays, and sounds fantastic. Thank you John B!
Looks pretty cool, thanks for the preview, X-Men have always been my favorite Marvel team, good to see them getting some love here oh this video is kinda old, oh well... My comment still stands
Best VIdeo Stern has done on a New Machine. You can clearly see the entire machine and learn about the gameplay without any cheesy effects, music or commentary.
Looks and feels nice.. though is there any 27" screen pins in the planning? The presentation gets so nice and you can split the screen into four pieces!
Good job Mr. Borg, this game looks fantastic! I thought the magnet feature would be better suited for Magneto besides Wolverine, but it stil looks great. LOVING that Iceman ramp shot!
totally with you when it comes to Lawlor. Its funny that you mention T2 which is not the most hyped machine out there and yet, one of my faves. Going to have to make an effort to check out an AC/DC now. (well not much effort since I know plenty of places available)
I loved this table.... hard to find one in good working order in the wild though.... any chance Stern will partner with farsight or make there own digital reproduction of there newish games? seems like it would make allot of people happy, and give fans a way to play semi recent tables that are becoming Harder to find.
It's fast and non-stop like your typical Steve Ritchie game. It plays a bit like T2. I am a big Pat Lawlor fan, but AC/DC really blew me away. I haven't had that much fun on a new machine in a long time.
yeah I haven't even managed to get a game in on one yet and I'm already saving my pennies. I think the music and look of the machines sold me without even looking at gameplay.
i got very excited and tried to have fun with coin return box that's when i saw 3 people in uniform come into the arcade i knew that warm welcome was for me.
I love the X-Men but lately I'm finding the games from Stern seem to be very very similar. Not sure I'd get this one because of it. Well that and I'm still trying to save up for an AC/DC :D
I disagree entirely. What I love about this machine is the fact that it uses the models from the 90's X-Men show.. This could have been styled off of the movies and that would just be lame. Also this playfield is crazy fun. That magnet wheel is the shit.
I'm actually a pretty big fan of Marvel, particularly 90's X-Men actually, which is probably why I was so disappointed in this machine. I couldn't really explain it well over text, especially with limited characters. It seems like there aren't any hand drawn or original graphics ever used on Stern machines. They just slap and reuse pre-made images and shitty toys all over their machines from the source material. It's really disappointing and embarassing
I am always hugely disappointed in the Stern cabinet art. The actual gameplay of the machines is usually good but the overall presentation and art style of all Stern machines are just hideous. I'd really like to see some more unique and original pinball machine concepts and designs, rather than just slapping some ugly licensed graphics over a machine and rushing it out for some crappy flavor of the month movie. Honestly, Shrek and CSI pinball? :/
