I liked Emma implying that the Omega list is bullshit and that it's skill that really matters and that she can best even the omega level mutants. Remember when she was in Iceman's body and was able to do stuff Iceman never could and really tapped into his omega potential, I feel like the same is with Xavier, he might even have more raw power than her but he will never be able to use his telepathy as unrestrictedly as Emma does. She uses her powers so creatively and unexpectedly and this issue really shows it, it's brilliant
Jean has more raw power, Emma has more skill/finesse, being described by the writers as a telepath who wields her telepathy with the skill of a surgeon wielding a scalpel. With that said, yes, overall, Jean will win in a battle between them, because the power difference is significant and Jean is quite skillful herself, so the skill gap isn't as big. Still, no other telepath really beats Emma. Xavier and Emma have considered equal in power and skill since the 80s. Everyone else lacks in either power and/or skill in comparison to them. What Emma said was true, because she has overpowered Quentin Quire 3 times easily, and he is an Omega telepath. She's also stalemated Exodus while stopping him from using his Omega telekinesis and other powers. There was also a time when the New Mutants stopped Legion in the Utopia era, but if they hadn't stopped him, Magik (who had seen the future) said that Emma would have been the last one standing against him and she would kill him by entering his mind and slaughtering every one of his personas and their powers. So yeah, some mutants like Emma and Xavier can take down Omegas despite not being Omegas themselves. They're just that skilled.
@@seraphimrosenhart173 Do you happen to know what run or even issue it's implied that about Emma and Legion? That's a pretty cool feat to Emma's resume I didn't know about it
I LOVE how Sinister is being written these days. I fell in love with him during X-men vs Avengers when the Phoenix 5 go after him, and he actually manages to put up a defense with clones!
The amount of attention he's getting and the depth being added to his character has got to mean Marvel has plans to introduce him in the MCU. To be fair he's been needing some work for ages.
Dark Beast has been there the whole time. I was watching “Blerd without fear” (I recommend subscribing to his channel too) videos on the x-men run. He’s been doing evil things from the start. Small minor things in the X-Force books and he plainly doesn’t care who catches him. He has his own clones now so he can’t really die and go through the resurrection protocol. He has an asteroid ship full of alien and mutant prisoners that he experiments on. He turned wolverine into his personal assassin slave. Straight up evil stuff.
Dark Beast has been trapped by Sinster and in Sinster lab since atleast beginning of Krakoa, he appeared in Immortal X-men 9 when Sinster kept attempting to kill the Quiet Council. He makes the remark that beast has been acting more like dark beast but notes its not possible because he captured dark beast
@@eldgeth3799 Time Travel is the surest bet, before cloning became so integral to mutant survival, and every story, even now being retconned into far before Xavier even lived.
@@reisswillis3285 I don’t know about that. He may be doing harsh things, but Dark Beast was torturing and experimenting on others, regardless of mutant, human, alien or otherwise, for decades longer. DB has always enjoyed it too.
Marvel has X-Men very gradually walking into a biopunk setting with biotechnology like the Logan Patch and Mutant Guns whch I absolutely love! Biopunk has been sitting under the shadow of cyberpunk for decades so its great to see a story that has a focus on extreme biotechnology without the usual cyberpunk tropes.
6:11 Dark Beast has been running around in Marvel 616 ever since he escaped the AoA universe, every appearance he makes tho he is missing more of his body. Norman went to see him during Dark Avengers to find him doing awful deeds to orphans, then we never see him again till we learn Sinister reduced him down to just a head and keeps him alive in his lab
Literally only Jean and Emma are up there with Xavier. All of the others would lose to Xavier... Betsy and Exodus have less telepathic power than Xavier, Rachel has less skill than Xavier, Kid Omega has less of both according to his feats. Most other telepaths don't even come close.
also I think the other comments already mention but dark beast is in one of the immortal x-men issues before sins of sinister event started, I think it was the one that was with shadow cat being featured.
Every time I see Cable, all I can think of is that line in the X Men animated series where he body slides into a phone booth and is like " Time to reach out, and touch somebody". Hahaha.....
Yes, I absolutely want Emma Frost to get her flowers. They always under estimate her even though she’s less emotionally factured as jean grey and less empathetic than Xavier. Em always come through. She is a bad ass and is never given elevation. Hopefully she will be depicted correctly when it comes to the MCU.
Rob. The way Beast has been getting during this (now years long) run, did you really NOT think Dark Beast was going to show up and become relevant at some point? Ever since Beast's first hint of "breaking bad", the story has been SCREAMING Dark Beast appearance at some point. It's coming!
I wonder if Apocalypse is aware of the four Mr. Sinisters? Dark Beast was my 1st thought when Hank started freaking out but like you, I remember him being killed off. Still...
This is the perfect storyline to create a Chimera mutant superman/the sentry, hope summers, Adam warlock and nate grey kind of character who turns against Mr sinister and the Corrupted quiet council and with help undoes everything that sinister did to the timeline returning the marvel universe back to the way it was before!💯🔥😁😉👍
I suspected Dark Beast was impersonating Beast at the beginning of the Krakoa arc. Always wondered where he went. He should be alive someone out there.
in immortal xmen books sinister has dark beast head lock up in his lab everything our beast is doing is free will he went the past of no return into a true villian for yrs to come what funny about this situation is i have seen future version of hank mckoy that he turns bad read the battle of the atom trade paper
Pretty much every character in the Krakoa arc is an impersonation of the X-Men. This dumb story turned all the X-men into villains who created a totalitarian ethnostate.
It's really disappointing to see Emma taking on Sinister and defeating him that easy.. the dude was able to take on Jean with mental blocks and Psylocke on the psychic plane and dominate them He can absorb people into his body and gain their powers, is a powerful molecular manipulator, telekinetic energy manipulation etc.. he is a powerhouse. It's sad to see them display him as a just a jokester scientist with no power.. his telepath rivals that of Emma
@@afro_princess1671 I generally think that house/powers of x was pretty solid but I don't really like the way sinister was handled in it. He came off as less insidious and more snarky than anything. It kind of feels like how loki has been treated in recent years
Emma in a telepath equal to Xavier, second only to Jean. Sinister is a capable telepath, but not that powerful. Jean nowadays would wipe the floor with him too. Presumably, she cut off his access to his other powers psychically, which is something she's done multiple times before. Sinister may have all those powers but they're useless if she's cut his mind off from accessing those powers. This was the case in the past too. In both Messiah Complex and later, when Emma was on the Extinction Team, she blocks his powers and takes him out telepathically. The second time was a struggle for her, but only because Sinister was powered up.
in X-treme X-men Sage unlocked Rogue's full potential to help win an invasion and Rogue had access to every single power she had ever absorbed and single handedly defeated a multiversal invasion fleet
I figured it would only be a matter of time before sinister combined the powers of five into one. It just seemed natural especially when considering the five mutants used in the resurrection protocols. It makes more sense to me to combine their powers and have one mutant do the job than five.
That's not true though. If we look at her history, from the 90s onwards up until now, she's very caring towards any children. She's caring towards the other X-men too, especially those that she's close with. She acts like she doesn't care, because she's hesistant to be emotionally vulnerable (she grew up in a horribly abusive family), but underneath she has a hidden heart of gold that shows when things do impact her emotionally. Dark X-men: The Confession shows this very well. Same with Generation X, New X-men Academy X, and other series. When Kate Pryde died, Emma was in tears and was trying everything she could do, until she eventually figured out how to sucessfully resurrect Kate.
I love what you said about Emma Frost not getting her dues. I think she's one of the best written Marvel characters. The fact that she's an omega-level telepath is so exciting because obviously she's not an omega-level mutant due to her diamond form not being perfect and the unexplored latent telekinesis. I need a story where she can show off all her gifts to it's maximum potential. Here's hoping that the MCU does her justice this time around.
In a way I've always considered Emma Frost the best version of what Jean Grey could have been between both Beauty and deadly. In fact I will consider both Jean and Emma two sides of the same coin, but let's be honest here people who didn't like seeing mr. Sinister get his comeuppance when Emma had him on his knees show of hands ✋.
I know this is going to sound stupid but is this an alternative timeline? I’m slowly catching up with the X-men comics and if this is the now cannon wow this is so cool!!!
