Behind the scenes of Thorpe Parks, X:\No Way Out indoor coaster which opened in 1996 and closed in 2012, reopening at just X in 2013 and then The Walking Dead from 2018. Note: From 1996 - 2013 the coaster ran backwards.
I agree, I also liked X. The Walking Dead retheme was just to steer kids away from the park. Speaking of kids, Angry Birds Land is so outdated, it could be replaced with a new Sonic The Hedgehog themed land
I started going to Thorpe in 2001 and remember the ride so fondly and rode x:/ no way out till it turned into x and the walking dead ride. in 2019 I became a scare actor and was a walker in the walking dead ride so its all gone full circle. i always found this coaster to be just as fun as the old flying fish.
@@Ilikesaucytoes Probably too many people getting sick. I can understand that being one of the reasons, but that doesn't take away the sting of seeing the best bit about this "Kids stuff. (NOT!)" coaster just getting stripped away from it. MAKE THE RIDE GO BACKWARDS AGAIN, YOU COWARDS! Yes, I'm a masochist.
I remember going through there the vortex and the grinders in the chamber and the backwards ride itself when it was all there and going backwards yeah did feel a bit funny afterwards but it’s was quite a confused and disorientation tide experience until that was all removed bit by bit as the years went by.
I remember going on this ride when I went to the UK in December 2002! It was the first foreign country I'd been to (My parents LOVE to travel, and so do I.) This ride reminded me of Trapped in Hyperspace (Toonami event that aired in September of 2002) and I was hoping for Swayzak to show up. I don't remember that big queue. Also, the "There is no way out" voice sounds like Swayzak in the online game that went with the Trapped in Hyperspace event.
I remember the steel band I was in playing one weekend for Thorpe Park (1996/7?) And we got to go in the park for free. We all went on this ride and I was awsome! Even if I did almost loose my glassess
Everything until 4:47 just goes to prove that the original experience this ride sported must have been sensory heaven for the older kids. All of it needs to return.
