X-Plane 12 - ORBX TrueEarth GB South - EGHR to EGKL | RV-10 

I fly MSFS from release, but there is somethink i like on xplane and i cant tell what is it :) Yesterday i did my first ortho with ortho4xp and look nice too.

how do you use anything for xplane 12? i have alot of orbx stuff for xplane 11 but when you look up 12 there is only 1 airport

@@PowerAirSimulations I just copied over all the Orbx folders from 11 to 12 in custom scenery to custom.scenery

@@modelrailwaynoob can i also create a shortcut and place the shortcut in the 12 scenery folder?

XP12 with ORBX textures does not even close to MSFS with DX12 and Nvidia DLSS. It still looks cartoon and terrible even with ORBX. If I were a developer in xplane, I wouldnt release anything after MSFS. The only missing thing in MSFS is the better replay tool just like xplane, once they sort it out, the xplane will be dead. ​@@RedShark493 yes you might think orbx is worse than fs 2020 and that's fine but imo i feel it just looks more like green and lovely looking and it be a huge step up from the current xp12 textures. And i feel if we had that i would be happy with the sim there is just no need to diss xp12 and say that people shouldnt develop anymore for xp12 and do for fs 2020 when fs 2020 atm runs crap for me terrible fps on a 1060 and 2060 i get 30 fps on a 1060 and a 2060 no difference so 1st there is a thing that has to be fixed 2dnly it needs more indept planes yes pmdg released their planes but imo i dont really like it the only plane that's good i feel and looks nice i havnt tried either yet but the pmdg animations is really crap but the fenix is the only 1 that has good textures engines animations everything is good but thats the only good plane and that's all i feel fs 2020 isnt a sim just yet it needs more good planes and better performance tweaks before i would call it a sim atm its still a game since performance is horrible nothing changed for me since day 1 and the planes i seen except fenix they are all meh now they arent the worst but pmdg seriously need to work on animations its horrible fenix is actually aight for a freeware but thats about it anyways thats all i gotta say

@@RedShark493 msfs is still struggling with a lot things even after the incredibly long awaited SU10. DLSS isn’t great even on my rig which in comparison to many other users is a beast. They still have to fix the turbulence settings and stop that oscillation you get in the yaw. It’s getting there but after 2 years these things still being there is a hard pill to swallow. XP devs have never said that XP12 was coming with photogrammetry or satellite scenery so we knew off the bat what we were getting. Which ok it sucks but real world pilot talk now. We don’t go flying around looking at houses or trees thinking hey look at this. We pick VRPs or heading courses and we fly them simply as that. I don’t think msfs is a game but the controller interface (ie setting up a cockpit simulation can’t be really done without 3rd party addons spad Next etc) is very game like. Take the piper pa28 by just flight. You can’t turn on the fuel pump with a dedicated on off switch panel. You can only toggle it. So you have to purchase a licence from say spad for €23 just to make that element work. Turning on a fuel pump is a major part of every flight especially if you’re following a check list. Remember not all of us are using flight simulators for the same reasons. For those of us who utilise them to train it’s imperative that systems are accurate (looking at that GTN530) electrical systems are modelled, instrumentation is as you would expect in the real world aircrafts and not the ‘it’s close attitude’. There’s more to flying than just fancy graphics. To prove this point show me a cat D level simulator using graphics seen in msfs ? And the night lighting, floating orbs, and photogrammetry scenery that looks like it’s been melted / pulled from the movie I am legend really breaks the immersion hence why Orbx have released how many scenery packs for msfs now to improve it ? Made a fortune doing it too.

Too bad It doesn't give the sensation you're flying an actual plane and never will.

i have both 11 and 12 so i just moved it from 11 custom scenery to 12 custom scenery folder. Or you cen use this trick: Go to C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local. There you will see x-plane_install_12.txt Copy it to new file called x-plane_install_11.txt Open Orbx Central and it will recognise your X Plane 12 installation as X Plane 11. Note that you'll still need to add the SCENERY_PACK *GLOBAL_AIRPORTS* line to scenery_packs.ini if you make any changes in Orbx Central as it may strips it.

@@davidmatusek197 Oh I see - well thats as good a help tip that i got from ORBX - they think Im a hacker ! doh I was wondering where the black box was located.... this is just file management after all. So you installed directly to XP folder not to your library right ? ANy tips on why my downloads are full of errors and slow speed ?? Been a bit frustrating.

@@marcw.5492 yes directly to game folder, i dont use library. Some times i have too very low speed downloading from orbx.

Yes, it works.

@andrea no it doesn’t work fully but yes it works.. it’s not optimised and the Mrs is scenery bleed so thing like trees and other autogen are mixing XP11. Once Orbx update the TE package this should look brilliant.

@@aileronsintowind6835 Agree, although i won't buy the 3TE packs again, but XP12 is a vast improvement over XP11 in many respects, but the real reason im buying XP12 is so i can fly the wonderful ''Colimata Concorde v3''.

Sounds like little d_ck trolling to me.. I have about $2K extras in MSFS, but IMO True Earth in XP12 looks better and crisper than MSFS on my 4K screen.

Yet it's msfs that looks like a toddler vomited crayons due to such over saturation, no thanks, orbx wins hands down

A quick adjustment of your monitors settings alleviates any oversaturation. No amount of adjusting settings will make XP12 look any better.
