Nice tutorial and what a beautiful intro, the rudder in close-up and then zooming out, this is high-quality editing and a good choice of music! I also think the extra information you provide in your other videos about a certain airport or which cities you fly over is a real added value.
I tried following the instructions presented here and... tut mir leid (sorry), but there's a critical omission. I went back to the German version of the video, and it's in there, too (I assume this video is the same video, different sound track). Specifically, after setting the localizer heading at 58 deg., there's no mention of hitting CDI to bring up the GPS TERM mode for the departure. Look at the PFD around 18:18, and there's LOC1. At 18:43 there's GPS TERM (BTW GPS data is always shown in magenta, VOR in green). Missing the change, I took off and the autopilot headed into the Appenzell Ausserrhoden. Oops. Otherwise, this video is very helpful in explaining the basics of the GS1000. Herzlichen dank für das Video! (Great thanks for the video) (Secret tip: "Y" also removes and restores the yoke).
Hello, pay attention, nobody has told me this yet, and I haven't paid attention to it either. Thanks for this tip, I will check better next time. Have a great Easter!
@@semmelbrosel7802 Perhaps it's worth updating the video? It's a major point in the flight. I like Appenzell, but not "stuffed into a mountain" close up. ;) Otherwise I flew the entire route without a problem. FWIW I used Little Navmap (auch ein deutsches Produkt!) to create the flight plan and FMS file, including the ILS approach. It's much easier than twisting those knobs over and over. Also, using a mouse with a scroll wheel makes turning the knobs much easier when doing flight plans, and settings. Get the cursor near the correct part of the knob (inner vs. outer) and scroll up or down as you will. I like your music choices. Look for the albums by Imaginary Soundtrack Project - I forget which license-free site has them, but they'd fit well in your videos. Frohe Ostern! MFG, Rick
Hallo@@RBEmersonI can no longer update the video as it is no longer saved in the video editing programme. But when I have finished my current project, I will try to make a correction to the video. I normally use SimBrief to create flight plans and import the plan directly into the Garmin G1000. But the newcomer cannot do this.
