NOTE: The handlebar stem assembly seen in this video is facing backwards, please install it facing away from the bike, I apologize for this mistake

Hay, it looks like you put the stem (the piece) on backwards.

Youu don't "screw in" the quick release. You use the lever to tighten at the end.
