I am still looking for a budget drone that does GPS follow-me as good as my LYZRC L109 Pro, but with a better camera and better gimbal. The 109 Pro you can put anywhere you want and it will stay in compass position when following. You can also use the sticks and it will stay in follow-me mode. It even has a return-to-controller (phone) while in or after using follow-me, which is exactly what you want. In theory my F11 4k works like the L109 but it goes easily into toilet bowl. The Toysky S188 I bought has excellent video, but I can't put it where I want. Soon I press the follow-me button in the app it will fly automatically 10 metres away. And soon I use the sticks it goes out of follow-me mode. So I then tried to have it follow manually. After 500 metres it stops and becomes very hard to control. So I had hoped the LYZRC 106 Pro 3 would have the same follow-me as it is using the same app. This X2 Pro 3 is the 106 Pro 3 just different name. Unfortunately it's useless without SD card slot. And it seems it has other problems. Hopefully when you review a new drone using the same app you can test the follow-me function throughout? Which type of GPS follow-me does it have: string type where it yaws and then only follows from behind, or compass type where it will stay north south east west of you? Does it have return-to-controller(phone)? Does it have geo-fence from take-off point or will it stick with you in follow-me mode after the max distance? Few drone reviewers really test the follow-me feature to see if it is actually usable. They do a couple of steps and that's it. Often so short that I can't make out which type or how quick it responds. Almost nobody tests if it has a return-to-controller like the L109 Pro ( or my Fimi A3). I wish the Chinese would do their homework. It could have been the 'perfect' follow-me drone, but it isn't. It has nothing to do with the price. Just programming and the right app. So many people are looking for this feature. And no you don't need obstacle avoidance sensors all around if you use the feature wisely, and if it will stay in compass position in front or next to you so you can see what it is doing. And no optical active-track is not better than GPS follow-me. DJI only uses active-track and often it loses you or crashes into a tree. I'm sure you get more viewers if you think you found a drone with usable follow-me at a low price. People want footage of themselves walking, hiking, riding a bicycle. We don't expect a Skydio 2 for $150. Just a nice small drone for in the open field that follows and is programmed right. Thanks.
no onboard dvr....dealbreaker right away for me... very honest and thorough review brother! thats what makes you my "go to reviewer"! nothing left out on your watch....NIICCEEEE!!!
Terrible drone, at the price they asking you could do a lot better, unfortunately the 1st time buyer will probably be convinced by the glossy advertising specifications. Keep making these unbiased, truthful reviews Pete.
I’m pretty sure there will be good ones too but you’re right about starting off 2022 and finding a bad one! Hope there’s less of these out there :). Thanks Tony :) 👍
Made it to 4 minutes and heard all I needed to know, no sd card. That's like having a 4x4 off road vehicle gassed up ready to go but it came with 24" chrome wheels; and low profile tires. Pointless but cute 🙇
i had a couple drones like this where the video was off with real time,to fix it you have to change the speed in post editing,i know its a pain in the ass and you shouldn't have to go through that.
@@RCEscape well that sucks,i hate when they spend so much effort in making these quads then do not put in an sd card slot so u can record your video, its a big waste of money for me on these types
@@capeRCouple Way back some 4-5 years ago when there wasn’t any wifi fpv quadcopters, there used to be quadcopters with a built in dvr even on some of the smallest quadcopters like the cx10 size. The camera was crap but it recorded in real time without dropped frames. It’s 2020! How much does a dvr cost to install? Maybe they left it out to save on the weight trying to get under the 250 grams which they also failed to achieve on this one at 258 grams. Therefore the Three axis gimbal which shakes a little here and there is also just a waste.
@@RCEscape my thoughts exactly, they couldn't keep it under 250 grams so why not install the sd,makes no sense and without fpv as it freezes so much it renders the quad useless for any type of ranged flight.
Yeah, this one is too problematic: NO onboard recording (why oh why??), bad video connection (if any), questionable gimbal, meh camera and overal questionable inflight behavior.
