Xal'atath IS the Fifth Old God, & Her Plans to EAT AZEROTH ! Threads of Destiny Analysis

Its because this is a homogeny of two separate entities -- I believe that the planet itself is its own entity. The "Earthmother" protected by her children An'she and Mu'sha (Sun and Elune). -- But this planet is more than mere planet, it can be used as a Fortress. Used to protect World Souls. Azeroth just happens to be the nascent Titan in this case. -- Unfortunately, word got out that Azeroth is the most powerful and the cosmic forces have been battling to develope the Titan in their image, or as a means to consume it for more power. -- Earthmother bleeds arcane, Azeroth bleeds radiant light. Stabbing the planet injured both, causing the blood to mix. Which created an incredibly powerful, but extremely volatile substance. Old Gods feasted upon its essence to grow more powerful, at constant war with each other to consume one another to gain the power that they absorbed from Azeroth. Titans utilizing her power to animate golems of power, bringing artificial life to Golems, Watchers, and Mechanoids. Possibly even feeding on the essence for themselves to fuel their existence. Pantheon of Death, feeding on the anima/souls of the fallen in order to maintain their worlds and souls. - Zovaal attempting to harness the life force itself to kill everything and dominate the entire cosmos, bringing peace through domination of infinite undead worlds. My theory is: Xal'atath is the 5th Old God that had her own armies (Nerubians) turn against her due to them being promised more power from a "Winning" Old God -- Possibly, Y'shaarj removed one of his claws and had it forged into a vessel to consume Xal'atath, and then used to sacrifice others to store more souls/anima to be returned to Y'shaarj when the time came -- but that never happened because the Titan's arrived. Which left the claw without a purpose, but over time Xal'atath was able to harness the souls within the blade for herself and grow strong enough to become sentient. -- Leading to planning and manipulation which lead to where we are now. Manipulating kingdoms to become strong enough to destroy each other, leading to heroes strong enough to destroy her brothers, which "Turns the Key to the door leading to the path of darkness, extinguishing the torches along the way."

This is hotly up for contention. The current argument is that the Nerubian's evolutionary path would have been far different to that of the Northrend version, buttttt at the same time if the azh'kahet civilisation became so decrepit and wretched in ONLY SEVEN YEARS, that would be fairly unbelievable too.

that was my first thought aswell when the cinematic dropped but after thinking about it made me change my mind. It makes way more sense it being actually the black empires last stand against the Titans. When we fought nzoth the black empire did not exist anymore. Just bc we have one source saying the nerubians are a newer evolution from the aquir doesnt mean they didnt exist already back then. Esp when we so much is unknown for us and riddled with lies from the titans about everything what came off the black empire.

@@1Forn61 I guess, but how long do Nerubians take to grow? Do we know? She looked like a kid when her mom sliced up Cthulhu wannabe and a young adult when she killed her mother. Did it really take tens of thousands of years for Ansurek to grow up?

What if Xalatath just prefers to inhabit the bodies of elven women? We do know for a fact this is not the first time she's taken a mortal form. Anything is possible at this point. I think we both agree, it's hard having to wait to find out.

@@hobosnake1 Back in the "old empire" like the vision is hinting there were no elves yet. So that wouldn't make sense. I think it was a vision of the future.

@@VoidPoetbecause Xal’ateth is not the 5th old god. The 5th old god is hidden in the old world tree’s roots within the Kaz’algar cavern. You can see it hiding in roots in the picture from chronical book 3. I am 100% certain Xal’atath is not the 5th old god. If anything she is the blue child.

@@strainthehealer2184 There are 4 listed zones, but there is a hidden 5th zone(kinda like a hidden 5th old god). The file name for this zone is rootlands, and will have much todo with the Harronir. “The vessel of life disguise treachery. Beware the eyes of green”. A vessel of life like a tree or the roots of a tree, the green eyes are the Harronir playing with magics they think they understand. Aman’thul ripped the world tree Elun’Ahir that Eonar had planted. While this was after the defeat of the black empire, it’s likely this 5th old god had already taken root within the roots of Elun’Ahir, before Aman’thul ripped most of it out, likely sleeping in its slumber until somone frees it. Likely by the Harronir and aided by whispers of Xal’atath.

Don't be rude. People do not grow up with the same capacity for media analysis as their peers, so to assume everyone will have the same interpretation is silly. She's building on themes and ideas that are very important for critically analysing a text. In fact, just like the cinematic itself, the entire reason you start talking about the spider's web and its prey is precisely BECAUSE you are witnessing those themes in several different ways throughout the cinematic. Not only does Neferess capture K'thir in threads, but Ansurek likely believes she is doing the same to her mother... all the while Xal'atath is watching Ansurek from behind like the spider that just caught its prey. It is an OBVIOUS theme, but nevertheless an important one to discuss, because as Discordian Kitten mentions, it sets the tone to the entire cinematic. To ignore it or to give simple dialogue about it does the whole textual analysis a disservice. It'd be like critiquing *1984* but never mentioning authoritarianism ever.

@@Vizelvius i get what you want to say and why she did it. maybe i didnt do a good job in describing my critique. i dont want to be evil or mean - i want to improve watch quality. for me its like 1984 but you spent the first 2 pages with the concept of what family member are. this is mother, this is a father, this is a brother. thats why we call him big brother. I think the reason why your initial comment sounded harsh was the "get to the point", which sounded like a demand, not a wish. If you were to change it to "please get to the point faster", it's meaning is changed from a demand to a wish. English is hard and has a ton of nuances where, if you translate words from one language to another, the meaning unintentionally changes from wish to demand.
