Short game let him down on the back nine on Sunday. And Rory was in the zone until 18. Tough combination.

He played great, well done. If he would have got all his putts to the hole, would have been a different outcome. He will bounce back - Mr consistent

I don't think anyone could have beat Rory. Xander does not have this type of fire power. Having said that, he shot 72. That is not normally going to cut it on the last day.

Didn't Xander make an eagle on the 7th and then for some reason fell apart, while Rory made a bogey on same hole and went off like prime Tiger..... Xander's putting was horrendous at times today, I wouldn't be confident betting on him next week at the PGA after seeing some of those putts. Rory peaked 1 week before a major again, so he probably won't win either but I still expect a top 10 finish.

He's honest with himself. Can respect him for that. But obviously can't go even par and expect to win on Sunday against a guy who has dominated at Quail. That wedge shot on 12 or 13 was garbage for what was at stake. He also went bogey bogey at 14 and 15 at players on Sunday so clearly something is off when he hits back 9

bogeys were on 12 & 13, but you made the good point. Two in a row at a critical point, and you can't shoot even par on Sunday with Rory in the mix. He was the best of the rest by at least 3 shots, so he had a helluva week. Rooting hard for him to get over the hump ant tick a few 'w's' off. Too good not to do it.

He never cheated. He used the rules to his advantage. That's actually smart. The rule's officials are there to verify any decision. It isn't fair to call him a cheat.
