Its insane to read all these negative comments. This is one of the hardest pieces for the classical guitar and he plays it very well. I wish that the guitar community would be a little bit less elitist and just enjoy and celebrate these young players that keep the instrument alive. I am positive that most of you can't play this piece at all.
This passacaglia really suits Xavier Jara's playing ,he plays it very well .The only imperferction is the central Rasgueado section where he changes the rhythm is some places ,or does not get the rhythm right. Aside from that ,he does a good job.
I'm studying this piece a while and this rhythm is not clear in the manuscript and also in the Segovia Edition. There are reasons for Xaviers interpretation. So it is ok to play like this. Maybe the Rasqueado was a little squishy. But thats another point...
actually everybody plays this piece to slow. He isnt rushing. This piece is not a slow movment between the Fandango and the Zapateado. These are three Spanish pieces and no Sonata. So he plays just as fast as Rodrigo writes in the notes. Andante, quarter = 84 BPM. No largo or grave. And the End is like the Fandango. It is a dance in form of a fuge. genius. With the same tempo
