Xavier Rudd Performing his song Lioness Eye Live in Edmonton Alberta as part of The Spirit Bird World Tour Follow The Sun • Xavier Rudd-Follow The... Check out Xavier Rudd at: www.xavierrudd.... More Void Content at: www.voidtv.ca
I remember 2005 sitting in the hot sun of Wakarusa and suddenly hearing the most beautiful music coming from the sun up stage! My friends and I rushed over to see Xavier alone on the stage creating music I had never heard a whole band create. Been a huge fan ever since.
This man is an Earth warrior (one who cares). To the international people who view the man in this clip, this gifted man, Xavier Rudd, writes his own music and is seen here producing a continual sound thru an Australian aboriginal didgeridoo which requires a difficult technique called circular breathing to produce the non-stop sound. To perform this way he has to be superbly fit. A normal deep breath intake cannot be taken when playing the didgeridoo. Circular breathing is akin to filling, “your mouth with water and pushing it out in a stream using your tongue and cheek muscles. Next, breathe in and out through your nose while making the stream. Repeat step four but, before your lungs empty, fill your cheeks and mouth with air and inhale quickly and deeply through your nose.” Of course in this clip there is no water but the method applies the same principal using only air. Try doing this with two didgeridoos and playing drums at the same time. In the background one can hear a bird call, it is that of an Australian Kookaburra, a member of the Jackass family. Xavier Rudd has written many songs and is not that widely known but, he writes great music with a great message. Listen to all of his songs as he is a friend of the planet.
Thx Pax, I did not quite explain the "fitness" required properly. I was referring to the whole physical performance including the drumming and singing.
What fun! Ivor, this recipe for circular breathing is perfectly written. This is daunting to learn. Regular breathing is a lost skill! Most people; I'd guess 9 out of 10 'civilized urbanites' use only 1/3 of their lung capacity, called shallow or thoracic breathing. I'm sure you know this already. They've forgotten how to belly breathe. We all started out breathing correctly, then mum came along to dress us in pants and belts. Just relearning belly breathing and using our entire lung package will increase our energy and endurance by half if not twice. I fell in love with the didgeridoo watching Xavier play this song, the Lioness Eye. Can't get enough of this type of music...talk about ENERGIZING!
"my ears saw the eye of the lioness and it was terrifying at first but couldnt resist the beauty of it and melted in peace" - A real beautiful piece of poem. That is really a suited poem for this piece of Xavier Rudd....
I love the fact that he supports saving the earth. Saw the sea shepherd logo in the background. Guys like this, Mitchell Cullen care about this planet and not just themselves and fame
The earth is going to die regardless of what you do. Familiarize yourself with reality. What you meant to say was I love the fact that he supports not speeding up the natural process.
I’m Algerian and I fall in love with Australia when I was only 9 during the Olympic Games in Sydney, I know someday very soon I will visit this beautiful country, this music gives me goosebumps 😆🇦🇺
We discovered xaves over ten years ago, talented, authentic, no one like him.. he lives just up the road from me, (well 30 mins literally) as us Aussies would say.. you can buy all his music through his own website, cds, records, he caters to everyone that still likes to use the old gear! Amazing man..
@@highvibe4839 absolutely. Yes we have seen him play in a lot of small intimate places before becoming well known. I have many original cds I still play in my car to this day. We are so lucky ✌🏽🙏🏽💃🏽
Wow. He's amazing. Didge is such a wonderful instrument. The way he's dedicating himself into the music makes you feel the the energy that flows through every sound. Love it :)
Janice - you get these people who have an affinity with their country whilst expressing something unique to it for all of us this is one great guy to hear.
How many artists today can play this many instruments at the same time? I love your work, Xavier Rudd. 👏🏼 Please come to the West Coast, South Africa 🇿🇦 🙏
I got kicked out of his concert with Dave Matthews in Brisbane for sneaking rum into the concert. Tickets were free and I only saw Xavier Rudd and it was totally amazing.
can't help but say artists are not eating grass and aren't powered by sun. Free concert means they get paid by organizers who in turn only make profit from drinks and food sold there... freeloader.
Ohhh, he´s a gifted rhythm- monster and kissed with the ability to sail different ruminant instruments isochronal. I admire him, a true musician. Thanks for this :)
Dude I had this strange vision and when I came out I told my friend supersonic subsonic frequencies of electronic music are awakening an ancient set neural pathways that haven't been unlocked since early time... Now this here puts a little weight behind that concept because this is the ancient sound of early days. The didgeridoo, the drums, the chimes of nature... You can even hear the little bleeps and bloops they use in dub and dubstep they are just harmonic changes between the two pipes. This ancient sound is being reborn again, to reconnect us to our natural state, to connect us back to our natural spirit, to our souls vibrations. Wuuuumwuuummwwwuuuum
+inthydreams911 Maybe.. just Maybe you will Iive to See Humanity awakened to their True Senses and when they are they will go beyond the boundaries set by the "Lie-Bury's" of academic sorcery designed to mislead and distract Humanity from The Truth that they are.. soon nothing will stop us.. they can't murder us all and in time Peace will again become our Way of Life and not just an anecdotal wish .. Peace
+inthydreams911 right on brother!!! namaste my friend. it is time for us all to awaken to the divinity that lies inside each of us. the eternal love life & light is shining through the cracks of the fragile game we know of as day to day mundane life which has been conditioned upon us, the time is now nows the time!!! ~ : )
+randywatchingbush The only "us and them" that exists is that which one creates. Science means to pursue knowledge. The scientific method has been developed over thousands of years and while not perfect, it has evolved into the most reliable method we have available for observing the world around us. If you to condemn the "Lie-Bury's of academic sorcery" is a not only myopic, but hypocritical since you are connected to the internet which was made possible by the very technology that you seem to condemn. Discernment and balance, my friend. I used to by into much of the same fear-based propaganda so that I could be persecuted by "normal" society and inflate my sense of self-importance bc all of this validated my messiah complex. And then I went to university for chemistry and came back to my senses realizing that the world is already much better than I ever thought possible. Everything we are doing is natural, even if it is not exactly best for the planet. But the things we are doing are slowing being improved harnessing the many aspects of nature so that we can use technology to work with nature and increase efficiency in ways that were not possible before. We have much longer life expectancy. We can safely produce more food per acre than ever before. Modern medicine coupled with knowledge from research to better stear prevention is saving millions of lives. While many people are still being killed over territorial disputes etc, the world is slowly evolving into a more peaceful place as more and more people and cultures stops tolerating violent behavior. There is still a long way to go, but the lines that separate culture are blurring as geographical and communication barriers break down more and more so that we can become a reflection of all of the best aspects of culture in the world as a new global culture emerges. Life isn't perfect and this misconception of the past is rather idyllic. Infanticide was a often a very necessary means of survival. Human sacrifice was frequently practiced. people were still warring with those who were different or fighting of land rights for access to resources. You mention "anecdotal wish", but it sounds like your reflection of the past is just that, an anecdotal wish. To be clear, anecdote means an account regarded as unreliable or hearsay. I study chemistry and have taken classes on history and anthropology and the best information that we have to date refutes your misconceptions of the past. Want to "See Humanity awakened to their True Senses"? Learn discernment and how to conduct research so that the information you choose to buy into isn't based off of haery-faery, New-Agey notions flavored with the unreliability of hippie wisdom. I bought into so much of that crap and one by one, almost everything I used to believe to be true that I learned from these communities has been pulverized by the logic and reason of science. Best of luck on your path. I hope you can keep an open mind about what I've said in that I just want to help people learn how to better discern between fact and fiction. I think that we can both agree on wanting to be a part of the movement that brings about world peace and a better planet. Modern technology will be a part of that process and is not to be feared in and of itself bc technology cannot be evil or good. It is those who would wield the technology with the apathy of ignorance or the intent to cause harm that would be bad. More and more people are using technology for good. Like me taking this much time to try and teach people how to better discern information and using the internet to reach an audience. Anyways, all the best!
What in the WORLD are these amazing, soul altering sounds I have just discovered? My soul literally just detached from my body, flew around the world and returned anew!
I just got a didgeridoo. It’s super hard to play one let alone 2 while drumming!!! My mind is officially blown away. So such Spirit and talent. Wow wow wow. Thank you!! You have to breathe in your nose and blow our your mouth constantly while playing.
Hope you've had the experience of meeting Tynon, at Bellingen? Heartland didgeridoo. Had one of his didgeridoo's sent on the space station and played, you can still see it on RU-vid and other. Great man, loves to surf and great teacher 😘
I went to Glastonbury in 2013 (the Rolling Stones year) and although Mick and the boys were great. The highlight of the festival was Xavier. . His musical talent is unsurpassed and he was the perfect end to one of the best weekends of my life
Wonderful!! I am now on a fan of Xavier Rudd. I have to get his CDs. I was looking for something out of the ordinary with the Didgeridoo. I first heard: Didgeridoo Meets Orchestra (Click on the "RU-vid" and look on the right ->) (William Barton using a CrookedStixz and a Bruce Rogers Didgeridoo at the Sydney Opera House with the Australian Youth Orchestra). THEN, as I like contrasts, here this superbe piece of Xavier Rudd.... a complet musician, a real artist as artist should be own the title... I don't know what to add.... That's the Wilde... the out of the ordinary....
So when you go out and buy that CD, do you get extra points for announcing it on RU-vid first? Or are you just saying that so nobody will suspect you downloaded it from TPB? :P
did the same way as you did, fan of those fusion, I was offered the Orchestra one, left a bit unsatisfied so I dug and found this one... satisfied now. I recommend as well "FINGERS Mitchell Cullen Freedom Rides Denmark Markets 2012 Australian Tour Steam Roller".
That moment when you discover a musician and realize that you could have seen them play live if only you knew... a year ago. Sadness. What a great performance this would have been to see.
***** saw him Live on summerjam 2015 30th anniversary. The whole crowd was screaming for more until the next artist began. The emotions and vibrations during the concert were amazing im getting goosebumps everytime i remember this feeling (not very good at english hope you understand me)
June 2021, years after this video was posted and I still love this man ♥️🙏 so talented and his music literally transcends you. This magic never gets old. When people say "high vibrational" music, it doesn't get higher than this!
He is completely dedicating himself just to entertain people. If anyone notices him closely then find that harder he blows the horn more energetic he gets so the conclusion is here the more you devote yourself to something more energy you get to take that forward.
The main bird is a kookaburra, There is a whip bird in the back ground but the main bird is the kookaburra. An amazing bird that is often associated with Rain in Australia.
