I love how they look on both consoles. Also the 360 version running on Series X with auto HDR is amazing.

PS3 is full 1080p, whereas the 360 version only runs at slightly above 720p. There's a massive difference in clarity.

Ridge Racer 6 has that true ''Ridge Racer vibe'' to it, which was gone in RR7. RR6 and the PSP games are my favorites. RR6 the clear winner for me.

RR7 can be considered an update, as in "Super Ridge Racer 6 Champion Edition."

I miss the ridge racer series, I wish Namco would bring it back.

Dois fatores principais que diferenciam os jogos: hardware e direção artística. Uma curiosidade interessante é que antes do Xbox 360, Ridge Racer da Namco era publicado apenas para consoles da Sony (PS1, PSP, PS2), na sétima geração de consoles a Namco parece ter mudado um pouco sua filosofia. Indo direto ao ponto, a questão de hardware é muito mais por conta do processador dos dois consoles, você está certa quando se refere aos ports piores no PS3 (em maioria), isso se deve ao processador de arquitetura CELL da IBM, que ainda era muito recente e complicado para os programadores da época, mas consideravelmente mais poderoso que o do Xbox 360, a Microsoft optou por um clássico Xenos 3.2 GHz de 3 núcleos, muito esperta (é tão cômico que me lembra da briga entre PS1 e Saturn)... Podemos notar que, apesar da diferença de um ano de lançamento dos dois jogos, Ridge Racer 6 se sai melhor com shaders (principalmente no modelo dos carros), a Namco se apropriou bem da GPU do Xbox 360 nesse ponto (pois possui o dobro da capacidade de shaders em relação ao PS3), a iluminação na lataria dos carros é bem mais agradável do que no PS3. Mas a vantagem fica por aí, a direção artística do jogo melhorou consideravelmente em um ano, permitindo menus melhores para o PS3, o cenário também ganhou alguns detalhes a mais no PS3, mas não entendo, o mini-mapa do Xbox 360 é minúsculo kkkkk... Ao mais, a versão do PS3 roda em 1080p 60 FPS nativamente, enquanto no Xbox 360 é 810p 60 FPS. Para mim, o PS3 venceu aqui 👍

Wow that audio. You can either have over excited announcer in RR6 or hear ear piercing WAAAAAAAMAAAAA engine sounds in RR7.

I have both games and overall I prefer RR6 over RR7 even though RR7 has more features going for it. I was disappointed in the changes they made to RR7, like changing the car engine sounds to that annoying high pitch buzz, and adding another annoying high pitch sound coming from that female narrator or whatever the hell she's supposed to be. The camera angle on RR6 looks nicer, the HUD is more stylish, the car physics also feel unfinished on RR7. It just feels like they had more time when working on RR6 while 7 was rushed out for the PS3 launch.

I have both Still ridge racer type 4 the best

Eu enxergo que a versão 7 é como se fosse um "update" da 6 em alguns pontos, como a iluminação me parece ser melhor e alguns efeitos adicionais como o slipstream e o rastro de luzes dos carros. Mas a versão do xbox me parece ainda mais bonita em algumas coisas, como a agua e as faíscas. Fora que como eu joguei muito as versões do PSP, a versão 6 ainda usa a mesma direção artística e bacana assim, deixando um ambiente mais familiar pra mim.

These would have been more successful if they were on more platforms. Making 6 a 360 exclusive and 7 a PS3 exclusive didn’t help.

I don't think is a fair comparation. The ambient light of the first race track is different, even the car paint, in RR6 the paint of the cars is metallic, in RR7 there are 3 different kind of paint, and the default color of the fiera in RR7 is not metallic.

Ridge Racer 2 arcade and Revolution for ps1 still has the best guiding voice. It's not so nice to you unless you truly do well.

Interesting! The graphics on these are similar and both look good, but are far from identical. I think I prefer the overall look and aesthetic of the XBox 360 version -- the lighting and detail on those cars looks so good! In the PS3's favor, I think the lighting in that version is more responsive to what's actually going on in the backgrounds and scenery -- passing into shadow is much more noticeable there. Seem like solid versions of the franchise, whichever you go with.

El de PS3 aqui en España vale unos 5/10 euros ,mientras que el de 360 piden 100 euros ...es de locos.A mi me encantan los dos.

I have both. 6's graphic are more anti-aliased, gameplay is fine but dull compared to 7's tight gameplay. Overall, 6's graphic is cleaner bit look flat, 7 is more aliased, but has more contrast and illumination. Music, both can't beat RR Type-4, but i prefer 7 than 6.

The fact that Ridge Racer 7 was a PS3 launch title where the hardware was entirely new & they manage to make it run at 1080p 60fps makes it impressive.

RR7 incluye algún circuito nuevo además del clásico Seaside Route del primer RR, también tiene una resolución superior de 1080p frente a los 720p de la versión de X360. Yo los tuve ambos como fan de la saga y actualmente conservo el de PS3. Saludos

Not gonna lie i miss ridge racer.

I think what I find interesting is RR6's engine sounds are actually pretty damn good for an arcade racer. RR7, yeesh... not so much. I have the game on RPCS3, I wish there was a way to mod the sounds in lol. They're better than these cheap airplane noises.

I prefer that "Sony Gray Sky" in RR7 (similar atmosphere to Rage Racer) , but the cars looks better in RR6.

Acho que nem todas as musicas do RR6 estavam presentes em RR7. Por exemplo a musica "Floodlight", que em RR6 é a musica do circuito "Airport Lap". Apesar o circuito estar presente nos dois jogos, trocaram a musica. Uma pena.

Interesting.. The girl at the beginning looks more realistic on the 360 RR6. But the colors are more saturated on the PS3 RR7 edition.. Side note, that announcer/commentary during the race on RR6 is super annoying!! I would have to turn that off ASAP LOL.

tengo ambas versiones y la verdad que se que son el mismo juego pero la interface de la version de xbox 360 se me hace mas amena mas ridge racer no se si me entienden pero la de ps3 es excelente tambien creo es mas que nada por ciertas texturas que se ven un poco mejor lastima que el soundtrack no se puede personalizar o poner la musica como en el 360 eso hubiera sido increible y le daria otro punto extra

os reflexos e outros efeitos de iluminação são melhores no x360, deixando ele com um tom mais sóbrio, o do PS3 se destaca pela tonalidade das cores nas texturas que ficaram mais intensas e com mais brilho, acho que essa versão leva a melhor porque realismo nem sempre é sinônimo de beleza, e no caso a versão mais bonita fica com a de PS3 pra mim

En el video no se hace justicia a RR7. Si bien ambos funcionan a 60hz, RR7 corre de forma nativa a 1080p, versus los 720p de RR6. RR7 es mucho más detallado en todos los aspectos, diferenciándose RR6 con una paleta de colores más saturada por decisión artística. RR7 es una mejora sustantiva de RR6, y uno de los pocos casos en que un título de estreno de consola llega al límite de frames y resolución de la máquina, logrando lo que muy pocos juegos hicieron incluso posteriormente. El mejor juego de conducción de PS3 sin duda. Una maravilla técnica.

E o povo também tem que para com essas frescuras de quê a comparação foi injusta e bla bla bla, a melhor coisa á se fazer é analisar e falar o que achou dos jogos comparados, e dos gráficos que diferem uma versão da outra e só.

RR7 has some of the best tracks in any ridge racer game (not taking RAVE RACER, that one is the best) , tracks like IN YOUR EYES and DON'T DENY LOVE are timeless classics. p.s: if anyone has a void in their lives because no new RR game is made, try XENON RACER, it is a carbon copy of RR but with futuristic cars, and it is cheap, great game with a stellar soundtrack, just stay away from the switch version, the drifting in this game is solid.

Own both Xbox 360 and PS3 and played both Asian English retail version of 6 and 7, gotta say on resolution alone 7 is much better if your display device can have 1080p with HDMI cable (which is available in almost all TVs now). 6's shade is having more bloom but also a bit duller and darker, while 7's more "vibrant" color can backfire in some scenery as well. On sound department they are both bad, but 7 is very incomprehensible.

Ridge Racer peaked with RR4 on the PS1. Its been all down hill from there. The last two games in the series were two very forgettable mobile titles that were quickly outclassed by Gameloft's Asphalt series.

La versión de Xbox 360 se queda corto en cuanto a contenido se refiere. En PS3 hay más pistas y vehículos.

RR6 is graphically clearly better than RR7 ! RR7 runs in 1080p but can't maintain the framerate. This is very noticeable in curves with many opponents. In 720p RR7 runs without problems.

Why was RR6 the only Ridge Racer Not made for PlayStation , I mean making it for Xbox 360 would be like making gears of war for PlayStation

I prefer RR7, because I'm a Ridge Racer Fan from 1996, on the First Playstation... It's also a great game on Xbox360, looks great....but the tradution through the centuries in Ridge Racer on a Sony PlayStation!!!

dá pra Notar que de Fato o XB360 vence mas isso é devido a Mal Adiministração da SONY com o PS3 em 2006. Um Console de Fato Poderoso mas Muito Complicado de ser Entender sua Arquitetura e Trabalhar com ele era sim um Desafio para um Desenvolvedor desta época. Muita das vezes era Preferivel Fazer um Jogo para o PlayStation 2 do que para o PlayStation 3 justamente por essa condição, foi um Milagre o que ocorreu com o PS3 de pois da troca de Lideres com o Próximo tendo Noção e Mão de Ferro em Operar a Sony e o PlayStation 3. uma verdadeira História de Superação depois da Arrogância.
