My first xbox ever came in the mail from Ebay with the face plate already off and cable ripped, but instead of returning it and paying alot for shipping, I thought, huh, how hard could it be. And I've never done anything like this before, but I really do feel so proud of myself for being able to fix it once and for all!! My xbox was knocked over the other day and the front cover came off, without your video I wouldn't have known about the ribbon cable, now I have reattached it and in full working order. I feel manly and proud of my accomplishments, cheers pal! 👍👍
me too, I had the luck of getting a wired controller so when I stepped on the cable my xbox fell off a stand, front and side popped off and disc eject flew out just yesterday
My brothers Xbox has fallen so hard to the ground atleast 5+ times cause we’d always trip on the power banks cable cause the outlet was beside the door instead of behind the tv stand and it would badly scratch up the disc inside but the Xbox itself never broke apart it still works till this day
I have an Xbox one and it’s currently broke and it’s not the power brick it’s something with the power button do you think replacing it with a new Ribbon will cable help

Thank you so much! When I had opened up my xbox one to fix the fan issue, I was unaware of the power ribbon. I realized it wasn't in contact with that clip piece in the center. Put it back properly. It now works!

You are the man in my day today! I just got a new controller and I needed to sync it and the sync button on the left side of console wasn't working...So I disassemble my xbox one and what I found was the ribbon cable was UN-attached so from this video at 14:39-18:00 minutes really helped me out with it all. I stupidly broke my ribbon cable when trying to clean and my Xbox has been sat on my shelves for months now but I thought I’d give it a try and see what happens. Found this video and followed the instructions and my Xbox is now back on and working!
Brilliant managed to clean my Xbox and get to the hard drive and stuff but putting the case back on was another story but this vid really helped with putting the case back on

My Xbox one’s power button was malfunctioning and turning my Xbox on and off whenever it wanted, even during gameplay and watching movies. I used your video to help open up the Xbox and simply unplug the ribbon. As long as my Xbox turns on and off with the controller I don’t care lol. Thanks.

I had to do this too. I did it without a tutorial and, in my opinion, it’s super easy. I’m tech-savvy, but I would also trust a regular person to do it. However, I would do it a bit differently. If you have the Xbox logo on the outside, try carefully removing the glue gel from the hole without scratching the plastic inside. This way, you won’t have the problem of visible bubbles from the outside. You could then try placing the logo back and see if it sticks on its own. If not, add two small drops of glue on the outside. I melted the plastic dots back to how they were before, and now I have the logo on the front without any bubbles.

The rubber "glue" that's left on the XBOX logo is easy to take off both sides with your finger. It's like that gel material used to seal mail. Just clean it off both sides and wipe off any oils. Put it back together and it looks perfect.

Thanks a lot for this mate. I've been using a screwdriver to turn my Xbox on and off after ripping my sensor ribbon. Thanks to you I've now replaced it and my 8 year old original Xbox One can live on 😁😁
It was dodgy as. I had the top cover off and was using a screwdriver to touch the button contact. Thankfully have an XSX now 😂. I did end up getting a replacement ribbon and fixing it before giving it to my nephew and it's still alive as I know.

Very good straight forward easy goinf video was abit nervous about doing this as i had to replace the front PCB board as well as not only did i rip the cable out it bent the little white bit it clips into as well 🤦♂️🤦♂️ only went to take it apart to clear dust out after all these years and did the one thing everyone said be careful not to do 🤣🤦♂️ but nice one your vid and another of one fully opening it all sorted works perfectly ..... now i can sell it and buy my Series X 😅
Hi there Vince, i had an Xbox 360 slim E , and now the one s white 1tb but that is nice little guide for the Xbox one 2013 owners though, so for the xbox button you could just cleaned it inside with IPA using the ear buds and then reinstall the button
Possibly but what I was nervous about was whether or not the glue they use helps with the touch feature. I wonder if the glue was completely removed whether or not the touch would work. I did originally ask this in the video but it was 22 minutes long so I cut it out along with other bits to try and get it under 20 minutes :-)
Good morning Vince, well that's a possibility yes , i was sure that you knew that already, but i thought that it is the button itself touch enabled and not the plastic outside the front panel so i thought if the button is glued pushed to fit in the hole enough that it touches the outer plastic then there is no need for the glue , you know like a smartphone with the glass on the actual screen , yes there is the glue but they work without the glass too because the touch is inside the screen beneath it

I opened mine up after buying a new one but it turns out it was just disconnected so I returned the new ribbon cable and fixed it for free thanks for this video😊

When using superglue according to the instructions and I can varify this the activater should be sprayed onto the component surfaces to be glued togeather and allowed to set approx 15 seconds make sure its dry then you apply the superglue to glue the surfaces togeather. The glue will then need 30-35 minutes to set. If you apply the activater to the wet glue you get a white line around the glue edge and the superglue bond is weakened and the 2 surfaces could seperate. I find the best knives to use are the old type bone handled thin flat bladed knives. They are also good for dismantaling remote control hansets. Happy repairing folks.
I kept trying to reattach the power ribbon for literal hours without it working. I finally caved in and googled how to do it, and this video got my Xbox working in 5 minutes 😭
