I was watching HDTV test and getting my settings on my C9 and XSX when all of a sudden I got the flicker. You are the only one that I have found that has fixed this issue. Thanks you.
Haven’t played mine in about a month due to being gone for work. Just played it and still flickering. Almost seemed worse than before. I tried this as I had it on PC and so far good to go. We’ll see in the long run, thank ya!
It is the limitation of the HDMI cable. When you have ur XSX set to 4k/120fps/ 12bits the bandwidth will be too high for the HDMI to handle. HDTVtest explained it well .
mine was flashing/flickering in warzone, i have 4k120 set but it was only running at 8 bit. no idea why its happening. changed to 10 and no issue today
The answer to your question is the panel of the LG is a 10 bit panel after further investigation. The LG CX, C1, & G1 all have the same panel. It can do 12 but it will have compatibility issues
I have a flickering problem would go in to a black screen it flicker to HD4 port I have samsung q90r 2019 it does it when the settings at 4k 120hz xbox series I didnt get a new TV to play at 4k 60hz
Yea that sucks man! I don't have any experience with anything other the LG oled but I will say I've heard of multiple people having issues with their hdmi cables. I would definitely get another hdmi 2.1 cable to see if maybe that's the issue. Good luck!
I have tv lg cx 48. XSX 4k 10 bit color hdr all games 60-120 hz. Ps5 4k 12 bit color hdr all games 60 hz. I will do a test tomorrow to convert the hdmi 2.1 cable from XSX to Ps5. Ps5 games look great with 12 bit color compared to XSX. Yes, out of curiosity, the Ps5 system menu is amazing sharp perfect image, I don't know why, but in xbox it is washed out not sharp, in addition, when you change the icons, the subtitles quickly upscale, when you run vrr on XSX, the font image changes from white to gray white.
My Samsung tv has “game mode” to reduce lagging and thought this triggered it. What I did was go into “settings” -> “tv & display options” -> and changed the “video fidelity” settings. I changed “colour spacing” to standard and “colour depth” to 30 bits per pixel.

Use game mode not pc mode and set to 10 bit if possible. For ycc 422 you will need to start an HDR enabled game and try it both ways to see which looks better.
all non hdr content is 8 bit so you setting to 10 bit isn’t doing anything and actually degrading sdr content your tv will automatically switch to 10 bit for hdr content, 8 bit is the best setting
Should have it at 8bit xbox will change it for you to what the setting is you can check it at 8bit it will go to 10bit for you so that its not always in 10bit make it flash

My problem is that some time my xbox series x would glitch when i'm on dashboard and then when i start a game or go to a different menu i can see some items that you can barley see and those are the clock and friends list. Can you help me please?
@@T_B_C_L It is very important to activate VRR in SX to activate amd sync? Or is the 2.1 bandwidth more than enough? I have noticed a bit of image flickering in some games and also in the main menu, store or gamepass menu, I don't know if it is 12-bit or VRR Amd freesync On in SX .. @@KhavelX I recently changed my input back to pc mode on my c9 as I was having some of the same issues. It seemed to fix the minor flickering I was getting. Hope this helps.
@@T_B_C_L I'm not sure, but lately disabling VRR in SX, I have no flickering ... Now I have enabled VRR but with 10 bits (before I had it in 12 bits) ... What's wrong with having 12 bits selected instead of 10? Is 12 bit for Dolby vision exclusively or for HDR10 + which is dynamic? I don't understand this about bits, but my feeling is that everything looks better when I activate 12 bits ... Maybe it's my crazy head. What do you think about this of the bits friend? On the other hand, Ps5 does not use VRR or Free sync and I have never experienced any flickering or frame jerks or image tearing, I think that VRR is not necessary today thanks to Hdmi 2.1, which has enough bandwidth and low latency, also I have read that VRR can cause latency, am I right? @@KhavelX in my experience setting 12bit actually would drop the panel down to 8 bit if you look in the maintenance settings. This is why I elected to to keep it at 10 bit. Like I said before I was having flickering more recently with a TV update so I went back into the TV input settings and set it back to pc mode rather than game console and this has fixed it. To sum up my series X is set to 4k 120 hz at 10 bit, I have all of these checked in advanced video mode, 50hz,24hz,auto low latency, allow variable refresh rate, allow 4k, hdr10, HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision for gaming. With these settings everything works perfectly.
I have a q70t and whenever I enter a game or app or whatever the screen flickers black would this fix work with my tv? Or would you assume that it would work?
I'm not sure if this would fix your issue but I would definitely recommend having a second hdmi 2.1 cable to try. Seems lots of people have had cable issues!
Every time I play rebirth or modern warfare my stuff just starts flickering as I’m playing and it’s irritating and idk how to fix it but I do have a tcl tv

I am using original xbox series x hdmi ultra high speed cable. Inset up my xbox on 120hz 4k, and my tv q70t is updated to 1402. It is flickering only in mw game, i tried bf5 and bf1 it’s fine. What is here the problem?? My tv support 120hz in 4k!
I would definitely try to use a different cable just to rule it out. Unfortunately quality control on cables is not great. It's sounds like your defiantly having a bandwidth issue since it happens in cod.
@@T_B_C_L thanks, i tried with my Xbox one x cabel there is no flickering. I have noticed if i switch to 120hz in 4k then is flickering but if i turn off VRR than is no more flickering at 120hz in 4K. But other games are good only with mw warzone is issue!!!
@@EnduroGripBosnien when you set all those settings you gotta make sure your TV supports those settings. I just help a guy figure out that his TV didn't support vrr but he had it checked and it was causing flickering.

To be honest I don't think the cx is having the issue, I think it's only the c9. I would definitely set it to 120hz and see if it works good. If you have issues just take it off of pc mode. 120hz is awesome 😁

@@Hungri_Ungi yes the cable is 2.1 and works fine.... But I have seen enough people that have had issues with the cable to definetly recommend to have a spare cable on hand to test with. Unfortunately quality control on these cables dies not seem to be the best but cables are cheap. You can pick up some hdmi 2.1 cables from Amazon for cheap. Just be sure to pick up some with good reviews.
Say the panel sizes were all the same cost. Would you still make the switch to the Sony ? I paid the extra going for the cx but could still swap them around within my exchange period.
@@Hungri_Ungi maybe you miss understood. I actually switched from a Sony to the LG. I'm much much happier with the LG. The 77" size is awesome and the LG has been fantastic.

Im playing Warzone as well on series X with LG CX, but i see some flickering pixels here an there ingame. Also now in Outriders. Do you see that too? Im asking bacause im about to send my console back (already packed it) but now im not sure…SO many people experience this
I do see this in warzone, kinda like a small line of pixels rainbow in color every once in awhile. I don't think it the consoled in general but the game rendering in 4k 120hz. Personally I think these are the hiccups of pushing the technology forward that we will have to deal with for awhile. Kinds sucks but it is what it is.

Make sure that all the settings you have checked, your TV supports like vrr, 4k 120hz, and its not a, bad idea to have a spare cable to troubleshoot with.
@@T_B_C_L I have the LG Nanocell 85 and the Series X my LG Nanocell supports 4k 120hz with all the gaming features ALLM and VRR all the above I was playing COD Warzone with VRR on and it was flickering very bad but none of the other games flicker I think it’s a problem with Warzone and VRR at 4k 120fps
@@BigSmokeFN I think your TV also uses freesync. If so and you have it enabled, try to disableling it. I have heard freesync and vrr don't play nice. Also try going into your settings like I show in the video and switch from game console to pc or vise versa.
@@BigSmokeFN The same thing happens to you in Warzone with a Samsung Q80T when having 4K 120Hz VRR active while in games like Forza Horizon 4 it does not happen to me
incorrect placement of console. Eventually it will fail. I've said it before, I'll say it again, this machine is not designed to be in that enclosed area. Microsoft and Sony are now creating gaming machines that have the power of a high end gaming PC. Don't look at your series x as a gaming console anymore. The days of placing your gaming machine in an enclosed shelf are over. The top of the series x acts like a chimney. This thing needs to breathe. U wouldn't put a PC tower in an enclosed shelf. People need to stop thinking of the next gen as a shelf ready gaming console and more like a gaming PC.
I appreciate your comment but the shelf is not enclosed and I have exhaust fans in the rear. There is absolutely no air flow restriction and I'm confident the Xbox will be fine. If not I will definitely make a video about it. Cheers 🍻
@@T_B_C_L it’s just the side of the shelf is blocking that top vent. Up to u. But I’ve read that it’s designed to be on top of a shelf or entertainment unit.
@@scottymaczayda9531 yea it probably look worse than it is. There is a lip on the right side next to the Xbox that's about 5 inches in front of the space. So behind that there is a good 10-12 inches from the right side of the Xbox to the wall of the cabinet! I was actually worried myself at first but there is plenty of ventilation. The Xbox doesn't get hot at all except for the exhaust heat but that's normal. Good eye though 😉

Been at it for an hour. Tried every possible setting and it still flickers. I don't understand, its fine for weeks even months and this happens, then it goes away somehow and comes back again. What the fuck is happening?!
You could have an intermittent issue with a hdmi cable. I have since went back and switched back to pc mode and it's working. Definitely try a different certified ultra high definition hdmi cable.
@@T_B_C_L samsung 4k iv downloaded decenders and its not doing it with that mite of been because it was on cloud ill find out wen my forza 5 installs my xbox is at 4k uhd 60hz and the graphics on decenders look just like my ps4
@@T_B_C_L wanted to play the medium but apparently the flicker is so apparent on that game so I’m putting it off for now. Changing to 10 bit made no difference nor does turning off vrr as everyone mentions
@@Hungri_Ungi OK if you haven't done any of these things do these one at a time. 1. Try different 2.1 rated hdmi cable 2. Try different hdmi input on back of TV 3. Make sure the hdmi port that the series x is plugged into is not assigned as a pc but as a game console in the TV settings. 4. If possibly you are able to get another series x from a friend to test and make sure it's definitely not your particular console. I'll try to make some time to throw together a video of my TV settings real quick. I'm on a c9 so some of the settings may be applicable. Good luck!
I have this flickering only in the boot up of games. I’ve tried different screens, cables, and Xbox settings it still does it. Ironically this started after I got it back from Microsoft for a different repair (mechanical noise). I don’t want to but looks like I’ll have to send it again. Anyone have any similar experiences?
I also get the occasional flickering going between games, but I think that's just the TV adjusting to the different fps. It doesn't happen during any game so I just ignore it. Whether it's an actual issue or can be fixed I'm not sure.
I'm having static flicker on my 6800 XT and had to go into 8bit in hopes it fixes. I've had so many issues by this point that the experience is being tainted in frustration. It makes me smile in joy, I am really great full for it. I mention this because AMD also makes the chips for the Consoles.
@@T_B_C_L thing is, it didn't to do this a month ago. When I transferred my games back from a HDD I think a few games might have corrupted in the process. I can't figure it out. Distinctly, all the afdected games are X|S optimized games with that symbol. MS support doesn't know how to help me
That's not going away and is not the same issue that he was having. Gamma flickering is caused by vrr gamma shift and quick fps changes. Only thing you can do is to lower the brightness to mask it.

You are right! I think the concern is what happens when you set it to 12 bit thinking it's doing something better. In my case it actually was making things worse. My panel is a 10 bit panel so setting it to 10 bit was the best option. I made the video to help others understand that the bigger number doesn't always mean better.
Yea I'm not sure why it's allowing us to choose 12bit when there are no consumer 12bit panels available. I understand the setting being there for future proofing but it should be grayed out.
I don't remember getting a white screen but I did get the black screen when I first tried forza horizon but I believe it's been patched . I've played many times without issues since the patch.
@@osirisfly7815 oh I see what you are talking about. No I don't think that there is an issue with that. I'm pretty sure my one x did the same thing. The flickering I was talking about was at 4:38. On camera it's not as noticeable as in real life but if you look closely you can see it.
I am currently on the latest software and it still flickers on pc mode. I even tried swapping several cables. Honestly everything looks fantastic on my current settings and I'm get 4k 120hz at 10bit. Now to convince myself it actually helps my gaming 😂
