Xbox Series X vs Xbox Series S: Which one is right for you? 

Graphics don't matter if you're running it on a 13 year old tv

The S won me over due to its travel size. My job has me moving from hotel to hotel for weeks at a time, and the S just works better as an all digital system. Don’t need to worry about game discs or anything

I got the series X, and then a few months later I traded in my iPad that never got used for a series S. I think I only payed like $10 out of pocket…. Totally worth having both. The series S is my travel and bedroom console. Series X is in my game room and never moves

I bought the XSS because currently I don't have a 4k TV and buying an X is pointless to me. And also I am not a hardcore gamer just a person who enjoys gaming. So the S is more than enough to fit my needs and it is doing it vert well.

I got the Carbon Black Series S console about 2 weeks ago for my first ever gaming console and I gotta say it’s amazing that it runs games at 120 fps at 4K with no problem at all! Get the Series S it was only 499 and came with 1TB of useable storage!!

If you want insane graphics and insane frame rate, get the Series X. Series S does everything the Series X does, it just doesn't have a disc drive and it's capped at 60 frames, 1440p (but on a 4K TV still looks great). I got the Series S because I just want my games to run smoothly, load quickly, and I don't want a disc drive. I don't need the crazy power and insane visuals, as long as my games don't freeze. My main game is Fallout 76, and oh my GOD what a quality of life upgrade it was going from One S to Series S. Night and day, very happy with my purchase

The portability of the series S is just top notch. Easy to move around if you're always out and about. It's also pretty decent in terms of specs. And if you do digital, cloud and gamepass, get the series S and you're gonna save some money..

On thing I've realized, the xbox ss comes with clearly not enough storage for many games, however to expand your storage with your own carriage it'd usually between 60-90 bucks, pushing it to the 400$ showing, for just a bit more you could get the sx

And XBSX has a disk drive. Which used games are dirt cheap to buy compare to digital.

Tbh, the appeal of the series X is the 1tb of storage versus the 512gb of the s. Having had a the Xbox one , the extra built in storage is worth it in my humble opinion, but then again it's all about personal preference.

Seems like a lot of people forget that if you have a good collection of physical games from the original Xbox all the way up to the Xbox One like I do you can put them in the disk drive of the X and a lot of times it will just give you the updated version for free, or at least play them with HDR and frame boost

The S is soo small and slick 🤩 I love it. I hope developers put more attention to this machine because it seems like they are a bit hesitant to develope for it.

I dont game much so i sold my x and bought the series s hated that cube tho. Also fits better on my desk.

The Xbox Series S is enough for me because you can get it cheaper used off of Facebook marketplace. $200 or less is the standard used price off of Facebook right now. It's also cheaper than the Oculus Quest 2. Don't get me wrong. I love VR, but I also love console gaming. I have a whole downstairs movie theater setup for the console, and if I want to move the console upstairs, all I have to do is unplug, and it's light weight. Honestly, the only games I would play on it are Minecraft and Assassin's Creed.

i have a question because i would never move my xbox so if i keep it in one spot would an x be the better option?

I would like the series x but I don't have much money so I will have to go with the series s, but until then I will keep using my Xbox one

Last gen i had a ps4. Yesterday was my birthday and i decided on getting a series x. There was many factors towards my decision, but the biggest was the fact that it can play almost all games down to the original xbox games, i have alot of old games from the 360 days

Also, I have never heard a sound from my series s. I have had it for over 2 years. No fan noise or anything, not even a whisper. Never had any issues and runs the same since day 1.

My series s upscales to my 4k uhd tv. I check both console and tv info and it says 4k uhd at 60hz/fps.

I would get the Series S, It has a better look other than black which we had the same concept for almost 2 DECADES. Also, XBSS has a smaller console, so it is better for children. The 3rd one is that XBSS is affordable, being 200+ USD.

I got the series s due to better framerate. Sick of graphics being the focus. Gameplay is prefered over how pretty or real it looks

I got the series x, but I wish it was as small as the series s. downsides for the series x are the size and price. Also a few downsides for the series s, lower graphics, no disc drive

If games operating at peak level is highly important to you, or if you still want to continue collecting physical copies of games, go with X. If you care more about games than graphics and/or are on a tight budget, or aren't interested in a library of physical games, go with S.

Uhh, i honestly don't think that most regular people are even gunna notice any difference in the graphics tho. Like, the vast majority of people are gunna plug it in to an HDMI slot on a TV, MAYBE make a couple slight changes in brightness but thats about it. They're not gunna notice any significant difference. Unless you are some kind of more experienced "techy", its not gunna be noticed much. Even for people who are "techys" the difference in resolution is hardly noticed unless you REALLY focus and worry about it.

I use the Xbox sx on a 60 inch 4k TV and for fps games it's terrible but story games look so nice 😮‍💨

I’d say it’s what your gaming needs, a series X is it’s a home console and it’ll be your primary mode of gaming. A series S works perfect as a secondary console for exclusives and is good if travel as mentioned by other people or if you’re on a budget and want to get in the current generation of gaming Hope this helps for those deciding !

My brother and I were going to get an X, but the whole "The S only runs 1440p and the X runs 4k" thing would be a bit pointless since we play on our couch at maybe 8-10 feet away, plus the TV in our living room isn't a 4k TV

1440p is 2k duh its just half the resolution but still 120 frames per second

as someone who plays alot on his phone through cloud it doesnt matter when it comes to resolutions all i carr about is 1080p to 60 fps

I have the series s and I love the little thing I personally put my graphics at 1080 and put my fps at 120 and that is perfect for me because I play shooter games so I don’t really need 4k or think it’s necessary I would rather have the 120 fps at 1080

Series S. If I want to play my disc games then I can just use my old 2013 Xbox. They probably never will but if they made a disc drive series s that would literally be a godsend

Both are incredibly fast and perform with great frame rates on any game. If you don’t have a 4k 120 hertz monitor, your not even going to notice a difference on the series S vs X

S is just fine you won't tell the difference unless you talking memory but games I don't want to download I just play off the cloud and you can always just add memory

I have both and j love them both equally. The Series S is definitely is a sleeper. In optimized games i don't see much of a difference. Although not optimized, Red Dead 2 is the biggest difference i see.

Do yourself a favor and get the series x, dont matter if you dont have a 4k tv or monitor. You can still see the lack of good optimization on games on the series x and lots of games have fps issues. The worst thing is that you can see shit pop up right in front of you, get a series x and now is the perfect time because the only way to play old xbox games is via disc if you didnt bought it on the xbox live store
