They're just making transwomen at this point and calling them women. It's all about normalizing this, particularly for young people. They don't care about money, this is obviously about an agenda. Gaming is basically dead to me
I agree wholeheartedly with you gentlemen in fact I believe it's time to fight back against this crap it's time for us Gamers to take back our hobby once and for all besides it was never their space to begin with
@@michaelcoulter1725i'm going retro gaming. You can spend all your life just with ps2 it has so many games. Ps3 , 360, cube, wii, n64 snes genesis ps1 back it up too
Ugly female characters are almost exclusively a western developer thing. Although the Japanese are starting to jump on the bandwagon too, sadly (looks at the RE Remakes).
@@decepticonmecha not many of them, MK1 - women all uglified af, while Men look awesome as Homelander SF6 and KoF15 women look good in there, maybe Guilty Gears does it not bad
@painusinuranus3689i think you may like men or play for the other team if you think that way cause that is not how a man looks. Not a real one anyway. Do you look like that? You need to do something about it.
@@AzulQueso_ Nah, the only who believe in fake news and fake outrage is you. People like you are the reason why it's so easy to pick fun of. So thanks for the clout man.
@painusinuranus3689she has the jawline of a linebacker! None of the previous games have her with a man’s jawline. They gave her a masculine look for no reason other than make themselves feel better.
@painusinuranus3689 at least she didn’t look like a dude masquerading as a woman. Also the Xbox 360 remaster of the original holds up far better than this bullshit.
you'd need quite a movement to get this industry to budge, a few comments does nothing to them, but if there was some kind of movement that would get their attention. but gamers as a whole are not created equal, and unfortunately that's the problem. I know hindsight is 20/20, but nobody ever listens to the part about, hurt them in the wallet by not spending, but no one ever does that. especially now a days, these studios are gonna get their money either way, because subscription services exist, and people are like flies, they'll continue to land where gaming is going. these publishers know that, so they don't have to rely on gamers anymore, because they know casuals and the mainstream will always be there, along with the nerd stains and the woke crowd. it's a sad reality, but i gave up on the idea awhile ago that gaming will get good and cool again. no the most you can hope for, are the few gems that squeeze out every now and then.
Aside from the character design following modern social trends, I could've never guessed this was a Perfect Dark based off of the gameplay and world design.
I've seen comparisons to Deus Ex, Mirror's Edge and even Cyberpunk 2077. Best case scenario is a generic sci-fi FPS with the Perfect Dark name bolted on for nostalgia.
I really don't understand this fixation that 'liberals' have with representation in works of fiction. I'm a brown guy from Brazil, I've always liked American games and films even though I don't feel represented. Hell, when I was a kid I couldn't even understand what the characters were saying. But I had my escapism in fiction, my way of forgetting the problems of real life. I don't want the fiction to represent real life, I want the fiction to be that, fiction.
Its a projection of insecurity. They are angry that they won't be the thing that is idolized. Most normal functioning nerds accept that they will never look like Superman. These aren't normal people we are dealing with but unfortunately they've been handed the keys to a lot of franchises
It's about control and power. They don't want people to escape. They want them to accept. They want to show them their ideology everywhere, to remind them of their ideology, and to not question it, whereever it accures. F.e. to not question, should such people not just be in games, but also read to children in kindergartens. Or to not question, should you suddenly have a black or LGBTQ+ majority in positions of power, even though they are a minority of the population. It's also to remind you of their made up problems. F.e. according to them, trans looking characters in video games are necessary, because of discrimination. There is no discrimination like that, but if you accept the trans characters in video games, you are also more likely to not question, if the discrimination thing is real. But if people believe, it is, the government would have a reason, to fight this discrimination, to take more power. It's the same with black charakters: You see more and more of them, so on the one side, you won't wuestion it, if they are overrepresented in certain positions of power, and you get reminded of the activism behind this characters, and that it is to fight racism, and if you stop questioning, if there even is racism, and just accept it, because the counter measures are everywhere, you are less likely to question things, like affirmative action and DEI programs, which gives them a huge advantage with their careers. Also they don't want you to escape, to kind of break the moral, and to make you numb in general. That also was a tactic of the communists and socialists. "The party" was everywhere. The leaders of the party were everywhere. It feels overwhelming and depressing, if you can't escape a certain idea, person or ideology, it makes you and your mind tired, and that's also a huge part of why they want to have their ideology represented everywhere.
Joanna Dark looks like if Buzz Lightyear came out as trans. As for Dragon Age...was that an Asian elf? Looks so out of place. I'm tired of this IRL multi-culturalism races inserted into fantasy BS. I speak as being Asian myself...and I hate it all. If I play a fantasy game, I want a medieval European-inspired setting. The only good news is the Doom trailer drop.
In the RE4 remake, Capcom went so far as to make Ashley Graham's face from Ella Freya, body from Peach Milky, and had the mocap and voice done by an actress (i forgot her name). So yeah, the uglification of female characters by western game devs nowadays is indeed intentional and insidious.
Fun fact, the guy who was in charge of Tomb Raider 2013 reboot and toning down of Lara's sex appeal is the guy in charge of this Perfect Dark reboot too. It just goes to show how much more extreme his kind of views have gotten since then looking at the rebooted Joanna.
the guy's name is Toby Gard, you might say how you know it's him, because Crystal brought him in to be the lead art designer. now they have other people besides him, but he's the director. so he has a team to works together with him, but yes he was the guy responsible for Lara Croft's early design, unfortunately he now hates the idea of making her. now i can understand on one hand, because his intentions for Lara wasn't to be a status symbol, but for whatever reason he hated it. it's why he left Core Design after the first game, it sounds to me like he wasn't cut out for gaming, or there was something about him that shy's away from the whole sex appeal thing. if you look at most of Lara's ads and commercials, i never thought they were that bad or over the top, but Tomb Raider would not exist without Eidos brilliant marketing. i wish publishers still had that mindset today, but back then marketing was king, and you needed something to make your game stand out. so if you listen to what he says today, he'll make excuses about being younger, but what guy regardless of his age will ever get tired of looking at attractive women. it's impossible for any straight male to do that, so unless he was secretly in the closet when he design Lara, that's the only thing that might make sense. but i can't see how that would be, because he designed her to be pretty attractive. so i just think he never got over Eidos taking his creation. because he would've been right there, because the rest of Core didn't go anywhere. they were overworked, but they stayed up until the end.
I know, this needs to be stop which its not making modern gaming to appeal video game women to love them. It’s a turn down for both male and female gamers, it’s getting UNACCEPTABLE, it’s unacceptable my guy.
Though never got to play the original N64 game, always thought she looked great. Compared this to even to the Zero version, *this* one looks like a dude.
Absolutely horrendous.. im sure the writing is horrendous too ... I'm tired of all this b.s activism in gaming.. Thanks for covering this. Rip Perfect Dark..
Who is going to buy a poster of an unattractive character? How many women are going to cosplay as an unattractive character? How many artists are going to spend hours of their life creating artwork of unattractive characters? If attractive characters sell more merch and get more attention, then right or wrong, that's probably the route to take if you're in the entertainment industry. If I'm gonna have to stare at a character for tens if not hundreds of hours, I don't want to be annoyed by what I'm looking at the entire time.
@@Black_Void_ I agree. At least most parts of the EU. Some areas, like Cyprus, seem to be kind of fine, but it spreads. Meanwhile in France, there are real, violent riots, especially in the south, and here in Germany, we have things like islamists demanding openly, we become a khalifat and get sharia law, or celebrating openly the death of a police officer, who got killed by an islamist. And ofc we have the climate activists. It's crazy, because nowadays here in Germany, you can be sure, if you are a public figure opposed to left wing ideology, and something bad happens to you, from an accident over getting a disease to even a dangerous attack, you can be sure, certain groups will openly celebrate it, and in most cases, nothing will be done about it. Meanwhile, you can get trouble, if you just like enough "wrong" things on Twitter, or if you write something "hateful", and it's not clear, that it's just an opinion. If you would write a statement, like you don't believe, Islam is a part of Germany, you could get trouble. You would have to write a reason, f.e. that religion in general should be seperated from a country, or that germany is a christain country, so it can't also be a muslim country, to be sure, you won't get problems with the police for that. Just as example, how bad it can be nowadays in europe, because they really take your digital devices, to "teach" you acceptance, and some people got thrown into prison for single, short tweets. That's spreading, and while some things get better, f.e. how less and less people support pride month, others get worse, f.e. the legal trouble the activists can cause, and how they become more and more part of the system...
I knew it was red flags when Crystal Dynamics was involved. I can't really speak as I never played any of the Perfect Dark games. But I knew Crystal Dynamics was going to wokifiy it in some way. I'm always the hope for the best but prepare for the worst kind of guy. But I really have no expectation for the series since I partly never played the series but also they have been pushing this girl boss power stuff for characters that didn't earn it.
It look like it on game pass for the Xbox 1/series consoles(I think Rare Replay on there too), not sure if it playable on PC gamepass tho, than again someone did release a Perfect Dark port on PC, can look up videos on it here
They might have improved the Fable character, with the hope, people will accept it, but that doesn't change, they want her to be as masculine as possible. The agenda didn't change, they just try to be less inconspicuous, so people buy it, and that's the problem I have with this game. Just improving the character isn't enough, they have to stop with their agenda! 😡
Definitely, these ppl are vindictive and evil. They are NOT operating I good faith whatsoever despite all their hissing double speak, they are literally evil and want to make things in their image.
Duke Nukem is one of the most masculine video game characters. If we ever get a Duke Nukem reboot, it will probably make Duke a feminist, fighting against “toxicity masculine” aliens.
I pulled out my PS3 and started playing older games again. Started with Saints Row 2 and I’m having a blast playing through it again. It holds nothing back lol I feel like this era of gaming is such a disaster. At least these new games won’t be making me broke! However, Doom is on my radar too. I sure hope they pull it off.
It's obvious that if backlash after backlash won't get these dev's to correct course, we have to come to the conclusion that their intention is to destroy the medium.
Just compare Angela in Silent Hill 2 for the PS2 to Angela in Silent Hill 2 Remake for the PS5. Three console generations later, and the character looks worse?! That's how we know it's being done purposely.
My eyes!!! Honestly I'm surprised Doom Guy isn't non-binary or something like that yet. Remember this IS Bethesda we're talking about; the same weirdos who made Wokefield where half the NPCs can't wait to tell you their pronouns and the majority of bosses are female. We can only hope they don't mess it up, but only time will tell
I remember taking a survey for RE remake games. One question was, " Would you like to see attractive characters?" The answer is, yes. We should have a good balance of both. Good looking and average would suffice. However, a main character design should be cool and or attractive, and to purposely do the opposite would be a disservice.
How is the new one ugly? It looks like the actress Megan Boone, look her up and tell me she's not gorgeous. One bad shot and y'all get up in arms over something like this.
I think she’s hot as hell in the new render of her aiming the pistol, way more realistic looking. She kinda looks like someone I used to know when I was younger. I’ve played both of the old games and have no attachments to the old visual styles. Not everyone needs to look like Angelina Jolie from 30 years ago to be perceived as attractive.
What I find funny is that despite these groups of lefties always complaining about stereotypes, it appears to be the case that the only way to "uglify" a woman in the design of her in a video game is to give her stereotypical masculine features.
I've said this before, but only one game from that showcase got me excited and that is Clair Obscur Expedition 33 because it's a game that actually has effort being put into
You're spot on. I can understand everyone wants to be represented in games and identify with charters, but putting todays ideoligy into EVERY game, movie etc is just bad. A little bit of todays gender ideoligy isn't bad, but too much as is done now, sparks only more hate towards those groups. But AAA gaming/movies have to do it else those groups hammer them with the racist/bigotry hammer. The line has been drawn, those groups want acceptance but too far is too far. Speak out girl!
