Honestly, I feel that is their end goal. Force all companies into this ESG / DEI stuff, knowing most customers are getting angry with it to the point of boycotting those companies, and then when the time is right they will pull all ESG / DEI funds from all companies, causing a crash in multiple industries, pretty much resulting in a very nasty economic crash. The crash will trickle down from the companies to the common people. Once people start losing their homes, they will buy them up along with other things they will buy up while everyone else is suffering.

If a new crash happens it will actually be the THIRD video game crash. The second video game crash happened during early 1996. A lot of people overlook it because the original Playstation (which made it's worldwide debut outside of Japan during September 1995) was a huge hit during early 1996, but everyone else was having a crash of some sort during early 1996. Atari went out of business because of the Atari Jaguar and discontinued the Jaguar, the 3DO got discontinued, the CD-i got discontinued in the U.S by 1996, the Sega 32X was discontinued while it became clear that the Sega Saturn was in huge trouble due to the Playstation drastically outselling it during holiday season 95, the Nintendo Virtual Boy was declared a massive bomb by early 96 when holiday season 95 sales were revealed and Virtual Boy was discontinued by mid 96, the Neo Geo CD was DOA when it arrived in North America during early 1996, etc.

No question about it. I am legitimately looking forward to a full-scale AAA gaming crash. Companies pushing wokeness like Ubisoft, 343, Rocksteady, Crystal Dynamics, Sony, CD Projekt Red, the list goes on and on and on - I hope they all go completely out of business and 3-5 years later new ones pop up and properly gatekeep against the woke nonsense.

Nintendo is the only PURE game company left. (pure meaning they only make games no other division in their company to depend on for $) The reason they survive is because they understand games have to be fun first and everything else second. And they also believe entertainment is a luxury so if the economy is doing bad the first thing to be cut are non-essential items like entertainment. That is why they survive: they make sure only quality is made and if that quality sells bad if the fans want more, they might make more if the company can eat the loss. So it's a balance of profit, then customer satisfaction, and quality. (quality testing is what determines if it can even be on shelves that is why Zelda Tears of the Kingdom doesn't have bugs and why nintendo are happy to delay games until they are properly tested before release)

I still like the Bungie-era Cortana designs (from Halo 2 and 3 specifically) a lot better than Halo 4 (I don't know why but Halo 4 Cortana's face has always looked really weird to me and I don't like it). That said, Halo 4 Cortana looks so much better and Halo 5 and Halo Infinite's designs for Cortana. Guess 343i is really addicted to that D.I.E. cult money.

Not really, that's definitely Sony. At least Microsoft can put out good replayable games every now and then, the problem didn't really start until they started following the battle royale/live service trends.

@@megaman37456 When you say the Halo games aside from Infinite are "fine examples," you mean the Bungie Halo games from MCC and those are only "fine examples" at this point after 343i failed so hilariously with the launch of MCC that there was literally nowhere to go but upwards (I can tell you that for a fact because I bought it when it launched with my Xbox One and Quarantine Zone in Halo 2 had a bug when MCC first launched where the allied AI would get stuck and stop following you at the end of the 1st vehicle segment. *And that's just one point where that bug occurred* much less other points). Halo 4? Aggressively mid. It's the only game on MCC I don't play even with mods because the game is the most boring of all the games on MCC. Halo 5? That was outright garbage for a Halo game. Decent enough multiplayer (I still have a love/hate relationship with Warzone Firefight from Halo 5 because the idea is good but the balancing is awful) but it's not Halo. Plays more like CoD than it does Halo and that's half the reason that game was a flop. Halo Infinite? Biggest disappointment 343i has put out yet and that's with Halo 5's campaign in consideration. 343i did the same exact thing Disney Star Wars did with episode 9 and that's why Halo Infinite was a disappointment in my mind: It tried to retcon 98% of Halo 5 instead of sticking with all the stuff from Halo 5. The irony of it in my mid is had 343i not tried to effectively memory hole and retcon Halo 5, I could've at least looked at Infinite and said it was consistent with Halo 5. Now it's not only inconsistent with Halo 5, virtually everything that could've been done to explain how you get to Halo Infinite from Halo 5 got thrown out the window, happened off screen, and *at best* was told to you in relatively vague terms (i.e. Lasky, the one 343i character who wasn't that bad from 4 and 5, was dealt with off screen and all you get told about him is he got evacuated to somewhere safe. Where and how? They don't tell you). The only really good game from Halo that wasn't made by Bungie was Halo Wars 1 and that's mainly because even though it's not a standard Halo game, it fits a lot better with what Halo is compared to any of the 343i Halo games (I mean, one of Halo 1's original concepts from Bungie was for it to be an RTS game so Halo Wars fits with that a fair bit). The writing in Halo Wars is also significantly better compared to the other 343i Halo games (the characters are fairly one note but at least they have some personality like Forge feeling not too different from a Sgt. Johnson type of figure). Let's face it: Halo's been dead since Halo 5. MCC is only considered very good because the Bungie Halo games do a massive amount of heavy lifting and 343i had to fix and port MCC to hold them over to Infinite. I'll give credit to the team from 343i who fixed and ported MCC because they did a good job but at the end of the day, they were only having to do that because Microsoft forced them to while 343i was making Infinite and Microsoft wanted something to fill in the gap. It worked quite well but I doubt Microsoft's truly making anything off of Halo anymore. And to make this point even further: Consider the Halo TV show (both seasons) and the fact Microsoft hasn't effectively fired 343i entirely. Both of those 2 things tell me Halo is completely done. It hurts for me to think about because I loved Halo for so long and was high on copium waiting for Infinite. Now I've been forced to differentiate 343i-era Halo and Bungie-era Halo. I still love the Bungie-era Halo stuff but I refuse to touch anything from the 343i-era.

The Switch can already handle PS4 games, so I imagine the Switch 2 (terrible name) will perform like the PS4 Pro because there's no way there's creating a Steam Deck equivalent for th eprice point they want.

​@@woldemunster9244 Yep. Linux is easier to use than ever. For stuff that isn't on Steam, the Heroic and Lutris launchers are pretty easy to use. You could always set up dual booting and run windows when you have no other choice.
