what is more bs is that at $700 it SHOULD convert to £535 UK but, NOOOOOO they still expect us to pay £699 so what BS is that... meaning we are already paying an extra £165 JUST for being in UK which is about $215 MORE than USA price meaning it would cost around $915. How is this fair. Im sick of this $699 is not the same as £699 and its not just down to tax. As £535 + tax here in UK would be... £642 total and our price would include tax to begin with. Still lower than what we being charged. Now of course people will argue over it being economics and that its physical - so how about digital versions of games as example. They just downloaded - one example might be fo1st subscription in UK is £12 per month wheras Latin America is equivalent of £6 for a YEAR... like wtf!!!

Xbox is selling a 2TB XSX for $600. SpongeBob XSX for $700. No upgrades other than storage and a paint job. So Sony said of course they can sell PS5 Pro for $700. Since it actually has better specs than the base model. 4K/60fps is worth $700.

I have a Series X but haven't played it in about eight months. I have moved to pc gaming. The vast amount of games sold me and the ability to upgrade on a component-by-component basis is perfect for me.

Both of these companies are teaching a master class about how to effortlessly screw things up this generation.

$600 for 1 extra terabyte has always been insane. I dont think anyone anywhere said that was ok. Its the same situation with Playstation 5 pro. The additions just dont equate to $200 more! Thats also insane! These companies think all of you are fools. Don't prove them right!

I like more xbox. Was interested of ps5 pro but price is just ridicilious. Xbox feels more for hc gamer, no vr etc. Ps5pro would be perfect for vr, but for rest its not just worth it over series x

Such videos don't make sense to me. 1. We don't know yet how it's selling! 2. We don't know what it can really do. 3. We don't know what the ongoing release strategy looks like, because so far it's just a cheeky test bubble. Sony can easily stabilize this bubble with a price reduction, attractive game bundles, or more included accessories (disc drive) in case of emergency. They're not under time pressure.

The $700 IMO would not necessarily be an issue if we were talking about a brand new true next gen console that was way more powerful but for a mid gen upgrade and considering the upgrade you get over base PS5 it is too much .

I think Xbox is definitely heading in the correct direction with spreading out their library to everything. They are banking on cloud gaming and the power being remote. You can play games on a fire stick now with a connected controller and a good Internet connection. I still like a dedicated and powerful console, but in the near future I'll probably be building another gaming PC for a few thousand dollars to handle anything.

3:58 I've heard that these mid-gen refreshes are a harbinger of things to come. The PS6 could very well be $700, which could be very good or very bad depending on what the system entails. $700 as a loss leader could be great if people think that they're really getting a bang for their buck, but if it's $700 with marginal spec increases or god forbid, $800 that could turn off a lot of people. Given the backlash over the $700 PS5 Pro and that many of the components Sony uses for PlayStation are increasing in supply, Sony very well may be in a tight spot. I don't envy their position right now.

I just want a buffet of great games to play. Development cycles are abysmal. GTA V literally was released 11 years ago and the trailer for it 12 years ago. We dont have variety anymore and everything is a micro transaction. At this point I just replay my old games.

As you mentioned, Xbox already announced the galaxy xbox series x 2tb version. Same console with 1tb extra for 600$, release this upcoming october. If 1tb extra storage going to be $600. What will the "pro" xbox with upgraded gpu & cpu price will be? From now on, any new gen console will be 600-700 price tag you have to accept it. Ok then, now both company are releasing a "new" console. They giving an option for us, the consumer, So the option will be either the ps5 pro or the new xbox 2tb. why not a pc?, okay, all console gamers already bought hundreds, if not thousands of dollar worth of games, so most xbox or ps gamers will not buy a pc due to this, and another example, im a pc gamers, for years im hating ps since ps3 era for keeping their first party game, im the type of those pc gamers that keep saying "console is shit, i will never buy ps5 or xbox, i can do this do that on my pc which console cant" the only console that i have back then is ps2, but looking at their games from ps3-ps4 era its really make me want to buy ps, i ended up buying ps4 pro last year for got and the last of us 1&2. And just last month i bought ps5 slims and its great. yes their games will be release on pc too after some years, but they still keep the game for at least 4 years if they even wanting to release the game on pc, now with this pro option, just imagine if gta vi going to be 30fps on ps5 and xbox, and 60fps on the ps5 pro or any demanding games available in the future which best plays on the pro then the pros will be the right decision tho, to be honest i will not buying this "pro" unless this is true. Trading in my series X that's been collecting dust this entire year and my PS5 base for the Pro. Getting into Xbox this gen was only worth it to play through some old franchises that I missed in the past via gamepass. Aside from that every Xbox exclusive has been a big disappointment.

Honestly if Sega came back and just made great physical games at $60 with modern graphics they could pull everyone from Playstation and Xbox. I'm done with both next gen.

I have never owned an Xbox Console before, I watched out of curiosity. I usually go with Nintendo Consoles & it seems they are releasing their own new hardware next year possibly signaling the start of the 10th Gen Era. There isn't any massive leap between PS5 & PS6 because graphics already peaked. Xbox to Xbox 360 was more of a leap than PS4 to PS6 in terms of graphics.

Honestly, both Xbox & Playstation these days are making terrible decisions. Simply saying they are out of touch is an understatement. They are both releasing unfinished products requiring updates every time you log in to play. The games are mostly the same ideas presented in different ways. They both seem to have no idea what %90 of the workforce can afford to spend on visual media. I've been in on both companies' products up to Gen 8, but I just can't support this trend into Gen 9 & 10. If we are comparing on the surface, though, at least looking at Playstations products from an inexperienced consumers perspective; it's easy to identify the progression of system releases. Xbox going from Xbox360 to Xbox One and now with "Series X", "Series S", & "Xbox Next", these names are absolutely ridiculous. Console companies need to chill and focus on creating games. They should not be buying up studios, closing them, and then laying off the people that are the real future and passion behind gaming. Support developers, what are these people thinking.

A midgen doesn't make sense at this time for MS, it's much better to focus on preparing for Xbox Next in 2026(??) and in the meantime finally release Fable, etc.

I'm good with my PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch and gaming PC. Not a fan of the storage options for the Xbox, who really is but it's a good system over all, I'm happy with my first Xbox console. At this point I think the PS5 will be my last PS system. As for the price increase for Gamepass Im ok with it, I normally get Ultimate anyway since I game on PC and console, just wish the had a 6month or yearly option (if it exists I haven't found it yet).

Putting out a Mid Gen Console and trying to get enough people to pay for the research, engineering, Production and marketing and trying to make your money back at this inflation economy on top of making some, if any profit, is good idea. Especially since I would say 60 to 70% of this generation is done. Plus we didn’t get that many games. This generation on top of it all didn’t really push what they sold us in terms of frame rates. It’s better to wait a little bit and get a PS6 then get the PS5 PRO. I’m still more of an Xbox junkie. I’m happy with my Xbox series X.

Besides owning alot of Consoles including several PS5 Disk Slims ...I also own numerous PC's & various new hardware to build a bunch more. In fact, due to the ridiculous price of the Pro & upcoming Next Gen Consoles ...it really is getting to the point where owning a Gaming PC is a much better choice since the PC is easily repairable by yourself due to replacement Hardware being sold everywhere on-line & various local PC Brick & Mortar stores. 🙂

The XBOX Series X is pretty much a "Pro" edition of the XBOX Series S, which is the 'Standard' edition of the current gen XBOX console.

Developers can't even make games good enough to justify a new console. Xbox 360 and PS3 was the best era in gaming, and those games were small compared to the ridiculous sized games we have now. The hardware is not the problem.

Xbox need to avoid this trap, just work on the next console. There's no need to mid cycle update.

At this point we’re paying for concords failure. Think about it

Xbox series x is 12tflops of power, the ps5 is 10.28tflops of power. The ps5 pro presentation says it’s 45% faster than a ps5 which is less than 0.5x the power of the base console. This means it’s like 0.3x more powerful than a Xbox series x. It’s barely an improvement the only thing your buying is Ai that might help make certain objects in the distance smoother. Otherwise it’s going to barely look different. If the game relies heavy on the CPU there won’t be an improvement at all because Sony haven’t upgraded the CPU. Its lack of optimisation from developers, the power of these consoles is not being fully utilised.

I would rather just build a $1000 dollar computer.

I’m currently enjoying my Xbox series S I’ve had two series X but I prefer the S I am really not interested in alter realistic 4K graphics. I play on a monitor because I don’t own a television. This thing works perfectly for me. I really I’m not that fast. I am looking forward to the Xbox series X all digital I’d like to get that, especially if it’s gonna be white, then it can sit next to but apart from all the stuff I couldn’t give a crap really I just wanna play the games I got and enjoy them unless face it past two years I’ve got 1200 digital games to get through

I just got a ROG Ally and I would love to have a gaming optimized Windows (Xbox OS?) for portables would be awesome instead of a more powerful console. Like, we're at the diminishing returns point newer hardware (consoles) aren't delivering such a technological leap versus previous generations. The only way forward I see is shrinking everything.
