Glad to see new videos from you, I've been a fan for awhile, and very happy to be a part of your Discord! I was wondering...I know it's a bit dated by now, but was wondering if you had plans to do an updated PerMa Patcher video? I like Ordinator, however, PerMa is my preferred overhaul. Also, glad to see you doing well and smiling 👍😎 Keep up the amazing content!
So just for my peace of mind, we only have to download this once right? Since you can use it for a variety of games. Also, since you are adding it to say, Skyrim, do I have to add the executable again if I am playing Fallout?
very nice. But unfortunately I need a way to clean TES3 Mods without feeling stupid. as that's the last step I need to do before the delta plug-in on the modding openmw site
Dunno if I can get any help here, so far your tutorials have been amazing! I made a seperate folder - not in the program folders - to put Skyrim, MO2, Loot and now TES5Edit as well. Basically C:/Games/Steam. Only problem is that TES5Edit won't detect the data folder for Skyrim. Internet suggests putting it in the same folder as the Skyrim.exe, but you adviced against that. How do I work around this issue?
i was trying to run like ur guide but when i run the mod it seys fatal:could not open register key I Software I bethesda software I skyrim Specal edison I
@@MrSpookSter well I got it fixed, I dont remember exactly how I did it but you can google for the solution, it's not complicated and is very easy to find
problem... when i downloaded & extracted the latest version of xEdit, there is no exe for the application within the files to be found.... Very confused???????????
Thank you so much for this video. It has helped me out a lot. I'm a Vortex user and have followed your steps as instructed. Within vortex, for fallout 4, I have a FO4Edit tool, and a FO4EditQAC tool. The tool I will primarily be using is the quick auto clean tool. Can I now run the QAC tool and select the files I want cleaned? Or do I need to add something to the command line first? If not, what is the command line used for? Thank you in advance
I'm sure you have found out by now but you should just be able to run the QAC tool. Its the same thing as xEdit just with the command in it -fo4 (i believe).
Does adding xEdit to your mod manager do anything or is it solely so that you can launch it from your manager? I have downloaded SSEEdit off the nexus, and when I launched it all my mods showed up. So does that mean I still need to add it to my manager, or am I good to go?
I am having a small issue with the installation. I did install it for skyrim LE and it woks fine but, now I want to play Skyrim SE and when I use TES5Edit it shows Skyrim LE mods not the SE ones. Will someone tell me how to fix this? I am using MO2 and, already installed many mods so I don't want to install a separated Mo2 for SE and start the installation all over again...
TES5Edit is not for Skyrim SE. SSEEdit is = ) Download it from the description and install it. You can set command line arguement instead of installing a new version of xEdit but the first option doesnt hurt.
@@gamerpoets Thanks sooooo much for the fast reply. First time trying Skyrim SE and, even following your videos I still make mistakes like that, silly me. Like the kid in Whiterum says to me sometimes : "You are the best"!
Michael, I am to assume that each time I add a new mod, I have to open XEdit to create a merged patch and after I'm done, I should close it to save and then I have to open the XEditQAC to let it do it's thing, right? To tell you the truth, I didn't even know that the QAC ever existed
I would say don't even worry about running the QAC every time, generally the only plugins you want to clean are the official ones (e.g. for Skyrim, Dawnguard.esm, Dragonborn.esm), unless LOOT tells you should clean a plugin, but even then best to check the mod page.
Yea, theres no reason to clean every mod. Loot gives you info from user input data. People who work on loot literally type in info for mods based on author/community support. If loot says it, clean it, otherwise you really need to know what you're looking for and even I dont know with every mod.
@@gamerpoetsCool, thanks for the in depth reply Michael! And congratulations on the successful channel reboot! I've been subbed for a while and the changes the channel (and you) have gone through have been honestly amazing.
Just saying, it has been 3 years since I first watched your tutorial, and now with a new computer I am watching again. By far the absolute best tutorials I've seen on anything! Hope you're doing well
So it says this as soon as i click on TES5EDIT from the short cut created on the desk top. " Fatal: Could not open registry key " /SOFTWARE/Bethesda/Softworks/Skyrim/ This can happen after Steam updates, run the games's launcher to restore registry settings " Please any idea on how to solve this problem ?
You don't know how much of a godsend it is to have tutorial videos that get to the point and cover all of the necessary topics in a timely fashion. Thank you very much for making this.
I'm new here, but I'd like to commend you on how clear and summarized your explanation is, and your friendly demeanor makes the video more pleasing to watch
You're a good man Michael. Thanks for helping us all out and keep doing what you're doing. Between you and Gopher, these videos have helped keep me somewhat sane when it comes to installing. Also, you two have the best voices. I think most of us would die if you guys did a video together. LOL
I'll preface this question with: I'm stupid, I barely know anything about modding, or computes in general. I downloaded xEdit from the main site. It's also called SSEEdit, so that's the exact same thing right? And I'm using it to clean mods after having seen your tutorial on it (from a few months ago). I don't have to put it in vortex right? The way I've cleaned it now is also good? Thank you so much, I've only been using mods for like 2 weeks and all my information on how to do so omes from you, thank you thank you!
Not stupid :) just new stuff ...vortex puts mods in the game folder so of you launch xEdit outside of vortex you should be fine :) yes, they are all the same thing. Sseedit=xedit for skyrim se
Sorry for my aggressiveness, BUT WHY WONT THIS WORK FOR AKYRIM VR IT JUST DOESNT RECOGNIZE MY MODS IVE DONE EVERYTHING, WATCHED EVERY VIDEO ON RU-vid, SCROLLED THOUGH EVERY REDDIT PAGE ABOUT THIS AND IT JUST DOESNT WORK
A beautifully simple and effective tutorial that is straight to the point while displaying your brilliant personality and humor. I come back here every time I come back from a long break of modding and I could not be more thankful to you for this video.
Hi GamerPoets, I just discovered your channel and am glad to find someone who explains everything so clearly ! I just have a question : when updating xEdit to a new version through Vortex, do I need to simply overwrite everything with the new one ? What about the "Edit Script backup" and "Edit Script cache" ?
Question for TES4 and its codebase. What is the best compiler for opening cleanly ESP file types? I heard that Oblivion scripts were written under OBScript.
Just wanted to thank you for keeping these vids posted. Had a glitch in the matrix, so to speak, and had to redownload Skyrim and Steam, so now I have to reinstall everything, and I couldn't remember how I installed Xedit and a few other things. Thanks again. 🙂
Anyone know how to get SSEedit to focus on my SkyrimVR directory instead? All those mods are SSE mods and I can't clean them if SSEedit is still looking in the SkyrimSE directory.
I'm quite new to the modding scene, and so I joined this server to try and get some assistance on a CTD I get when loading into the game. This CTD is caused by a mod called "We Are The Minutemen" and I tried to find the issues by checking conflicts and load orders, it showed that there were none at all. But the issue still remains the same. Now I know for a fact that this mod is the reason for my crashing, and when having all other mods disabled with only 'We Are The Minutemen" enabled, it will still CTD whenever I load into the game. So I even tried finding if there are issues with the mod and the game itself (DLC and Game) but there still doesn't seem to be an issue. I even made sure to enable all my mods other than "We Are The Minutemen" and it loads perfectly fine. So I have no idea what's going on and how to fix it. I really want to keep this mod for roleplay and gameplay purposes as I main the Minutemen. I used (MO2 (mod organizer 2), FO4Edit (xedit), FO4QAC (xedit quick auto clean), and I use to use Vortex but replaced it with MO2. I also watched many tutorials to try and get hints to solving my problem, but they all lead back to the same issues i've listed above.
I recently installed Fallout 76 from Steam and for some reason I can't use FO76Edit. It gives "could not open registry key" error. I do not know what else to do. The strange thing is that all the other xEdits work... FO4Edit, TES5Edit, FNVEdit...
Okay mine didn't let me unzip the file.... Or extract it. How would I do that? Seriously. Trying to install DLC's to fallout 4VR and it's like this complicated process because I have LOOT and it's saying the DLC I just purchased needs to be cleaned. Does this mean it won't work in the game VR? I know nothing about this. Please help. I just need to know how to install this xedit thing.
Fatal: Could not find ini. SSEEdit 4.4 looks for ini in AppData\Local\Temp\My Games folder instead of user\documents\my games\SSE folder, where ini's are installed by steam. I can't see how to edit where SSEEdit looks for ini files.
Is there an idiot's guide to using xEdit? I've never cleaned anything, and I used these guides to clean my FO4 DLC, and I feel like it's the worst modding decision I ever made. I'm very lost as to whether I did any of this correctly. I read a bunch of guides that told me how to find conflicts (I still don't understand), and ultimately got sent here. Are there any guides that are even MORE basic? I'm ready to give up entirely, PLEASE, can someone help me?
Hm I think I'm doing something wrong. When I run xEdit, mods don't show up - only the main game files. Edit: HA nevermind! I kept trying to run the xEdit.exe as opposed to running it in the modmanager that I JUST set up lmao. Brain fart, ignore this!
I love the new format, but just.... one... little... complaint. The EDM makes me want to jab forks in my ears. It's probably just me but I could barely tolerate the music on this video. The only saving grace was your beautiful voice. Maybe you can turn the music down a little on your next video so we can enjoy your amazing voice more.
how do you fix the fatal error where it goes liek this: Fatal: could not open registery key: \SOFTWARE\bethesda softwarks\skyrim\ (no matter how many times I run the launcher it can never find the game
@@corpsecueen It doesn't suggest to use the gog version, I thought you used the gog version because that problem also appears. It may be that the version you have of Skyrim from steam is not compatible.
In the command line add this -D:"C:\GOG\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data" -I:"C:\Users\admin\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Skyrim.ini" -P:"C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt" Adjust the C:\GOG\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data path to match where you installed GOG/Skyrim and replace admin with your own username.
I added it to my Skyrim Special Edition Folder and my Skyrim Special Edition Skyrim Folder before watching, How should I go about getting rid of the files? I done goofed!
Hi how can I clean all sseedit files and caches for a fresh reinstall of sseedit, after I move my game to my D: drive and now I got the famous it couldn't found the plug-in.txt, hope i will get a answer
Hey i might be a bit late but how do you clen on vortex when i try to launch SSEEditQAC it says there are some conflicted files so do i load anything so i can get it working and the cleaner will fix it or there is another solution ?. and sorry my english.
Just wanna say thank you man! These vidoes has helped me so much, Been on console for years playing Skyrim and fallout but made to move to pc a year ago.
Thanks so much! I love how you put this vid together! Just straight to the point and quick, no 15+ minute guide where it takes 5 minutes to actually get into it.
