If he had died from infection, he would have been dead for quite some time already under these circumstances but if the medicine held it back while they had access to him, maybe the fever would have kept him going after losing access to him (held back, not cured) but the timing for that would be way to specific for it to happen. Then again, I am no Doctor and reading this might spin some heads...
@CruelestChris
@CruelestChris 2 года назад
If he was dying from exposure the cold would also be slowing down the progress of any infection. In addition he's buried in rock, not soil, so not a lot of bacteria living in it. Biggest risk would be self-infection from his, ah, waste, since I can't imagine that's going anywhere.

I get a feeling there was sabotage involved in this on multiple occasions by the towns people. If shit was that real where they were ganging up on dude, and all the other shenanigans, imagine how bad it was when all these people flood into the town with their MONEY. You get to the point where on a few occasions they almost get him out but something crazy happens just before that keeps him stuck and keeps the people there & bringing in more people to spend their money. That dude was toast the minute he got stuck and people started showing up spending money in the town.
@UnlicensedOkie
@UnlicensedOkie Год назад
On another sad note Did a bit of searching Jewell Estes, the 17 year old that initially went into the cave and realized that the dude was stuck, ended up dying in 1927, at just 20 years old, in Texas. He was buried back in Mammoth Cave Baptist Church cemetery. RIP dude You’re a legend for raising the alarm that he was in trouble. Damn. His parents and nearly all of his siblings died in the 19teens and 1920s. One died in the 1930s, and the last sibling (the youngest) died in 1990. That’s crazy I can’t imagine the hurt of losing your whole family so close together.

That's a major reason why people had so many kids back before the 1940/50s and onward dynamic of two kids give or take. As dark as it is you kind of expected to lose at least one of them young back then. My grandpa had a brother who drowned for instance, one of nine kids.

There is something just flat out haunting about the cave itself. The fact it simply refused to give Floyd up. Even long after he died. Of course, a lot of it wasn't the fault of the cave itself but there is just something messed up about his body being put up on display in the very thing that killed him. Just feels like a fate worse than death.

Nutty Putty cave in Utah has been closed to anyone cause John Edward Jones was climbing through the cave and went through an opened he though was another opening and got stuck. They tried getting him freedom for hours and he eventually passed away. His body is still in the cave. They never got him out. After his death they closed the cave off to anyone else. It’s crazy. I couldn’t imagine climbing through caves like that and getting stuck. The panic that would set in would be out of this world.
@kosakukawajiri5007
@kosakukawajiri5007 Год назад
I believe the spot he was stuck in was called the Birth Canal as well, I however call it the death canal. He was stuck upside down trying to get into a much deeper area, his arms stuck on his sides so he could not push himself free, and on top all that the canal split into 2 areas and had lots of jagged rocks that would have kept him stuck anyway thanks to hooking into his clothes and skin.

At least in this retelling they also just didn't have the force going the right way. They had to stop because they were lifting him and crushing his chestagainst the edge of the ceiling. They needed another fulcrum point closer to floyds level so the force would be horizontal not vertical. Something like either a hook to run the rope through floor or even just his brother putting his weight on it to act as the fulcrum.
