You dropped an extra thirty bucks for us? Cool take three new rare blades, the protagonists of past Xenoblade Games, all six of which are broken might I add, and a new side mode to use them in. Oh yeah take a new story mode with 40+ hours at the least. Oh yeah also a ton of items that make grinding easier, new outfits, boosters for maxing out Toras damage potential, and brand new quests! -Suck on that Botw-
I'm glad we get a great blade that is male. And doesn't look bad. Edit: it fits when he says "i don't mean to brag or anything, but I really am that good"
unknown Parade yea, I agree. I had enough of females in the game (not that I don't like them), and I was thinking if we actually going to get some extra powerful males in the game. He is awesome, tried him on both, Zeke and Morag. I liked his quests too, Nia reaction was priceless (you little cocky...) and even Morag had enough of his actions :D not to mention, his cool design too!
People keep comparing Corvin to Kirito purely based on the fact that he has two swords and drawn the same way. But, really he's so much better. In the literal span of a few cutscenes and unvoiced events he's gotten more character development than Kirito in his entire anime + sequels.
I don't like Kirito or SAO, but Corvin is more shallow for sure. One has multiple series, and the other has a few scenrs that basically repeat the same events, plus his cutscene in his Blade Quest. It doesn't mean one is good/bad, Kirito just definitely has more character development, even if he is super bland. (If I recall, he was also designed by the same illustrator who adapted Kirito for the anime, so that might lend to comparisons.)
Michael Hebert “Kirito just definetly has more character development, *even if he is super bland*” I don’t think you know how character development works
@@naransolongoboldbayer8030 I'm pretty sure I do. Character development isn't just obvious changes for the better, but showimg how they think and interpret things. A character with basically no development is the Joker. He has no rral motive, no real background, and he never changes, but he is entertaining as hell. The opposite case is equally realistic.
Michael Hebert yeah, you either don’t know how character development works or don’t actually read comics. Either way the Joker has character development. Through multiple stories we’ve seen that he’s just insane. Other iterations and writings have hinted that there may be reason behind the madness and still others show the joker as more of a role than a single being. You don’t get to be one of the most iconic DC villians without any plot development over decades. You’re contradicting yourself. I find it ridiculous that you base Corvin as having less plot development on the fact that Kirito has had more time in writing yet say a character that has existed for decades has none and I’m still stuck on how you can call Corvin more shallow and then turn around and call Kirito bland. You do realize the two words have very similar meanings right? Now I won’t say the joker is the best written (it’s comics. Between the different writers, different universes, retcons, and reboots there is definitely repetitiveness in characters), but ask someone well versed in comics and you could get a full blown thesis on how he’s changed and been developed over the years, but again it’s comics, at the end of he day it’s not as simple as the “joker has had character development”. Character development refers to the changing and growth of a character. It’s not simply learning more about a character and background and how they’ve changed as an individual over the course of the story. In Kirito’s case he started out as an op generic harem mc and ended that way. Never once has he questioned or changed his ideals, nor has he embraced others. Corvin hasn’t had much development, but some in his blade quest. His personality didn’t change but as drivers you understand him more and in the end he admits to his own faults.
I was refering to the Dark Knight movie incarnation of the Joker. I guess I should have been more specific, lol. Anyway, character development is just details given to a character to flesh them out and lend credibility to them being a person. Kirito has that, even if it's bad development. Corvin has almost none. I'm not refering to character growth here either. Character growth or arcs are simply one type of character development. I will readily admit I don't read comics, but the movie and television incarnations of joker, the ones the layman is probably most familiar with, get almost no development, and it works for him. It also works for Corvin too, something I tried to make clear. Kirito is a bad character, but he still has more development than one cutscene and a couple copy+pasted npc interactions.
As much as I like to use him on Morag just because I love her so much, he's so much stronger on Zeke. His evasion art is aoe and instantly comes back in a high unit fight (like Elma Redux). Zeke *literally* cannot be hit by any attack *and* since its aoe, kills everything.
Corvin is a solid all around blade, but probably not someone I would put among the best in the game. The problem with a statement like this is that we now have a lot of really good blades, pretty much everyone I'd consider top 15 is really good. There's at least 8 or so blades I can't really rank him as better than and I've been using him a fair bit myself. His DPS is solid but a lot of characters easily have more. He also doesn't really offer much in terms of support and is someone who's best use is player control. Mythra for example can easily spam lightning busters because it's extremely fast and get a lot of damage through gamma rays and supernovas, whereas corvin's level 3 is pretty slow. Corvin is one of the easier blades to use but that doesn't make him the absolute top tier. However I do think he's a hard counter to the elma redux mission, especially on zeke. You can spam galactic strike which is an AoE art and hurt elma and her clones a lot. You can actually see I use this in my most recent video and show it off in my own guide towards the end. A few other notes: Why not use moon matter? The spike damage is really weak for tachyon and block rate is extremely meaningless on this blade. And why use outdoor attack over affinity max attack? Affinity max is a better source of damage boost.
I actually completely disagree. Corvin is a much better all around blade then most of the top blades in the game and can play basically any role extremely well. He definitely earned his place in the “top tier”
Mehran Haque just look with your eyes. He has one of the best level 3 specials in the game, you just can’t hit him period and you can’t die with him. With Avante grade he can heal himself and he’s a great tank by being able to constantly and consistently get aggro
Corvin does offer more utility than what it's explicitly stated. 16 party gauge gain per crit is huge, that alone makes him useful even if you're not using him; his Lv3 is pretty slow, but that can also be a good thing on blade combos, it lets you wait out attacks like Kurodil's twinbarrel, and the extremely long BoC debuffs. Sure, some blades outdamage him easily, but he's still easily top 10 in that regard, and the ability to deal so much damage without answer is extremely strong. He's also pretty autonomous, much like Fiora/Mythra, you can afford to not have one art recharge pouch item, and doesn't need support like Pandoria does for EoSJ, for example. I feel like Corvin was made specifically for BoC New Game (not NG+), his affinity progression feels way more gated than, say, Crossette's, so he doesn't break the early game. However, his passives are pretty strong even as a fresh blade, and his specials' damage ratios are just absurd. He does fall a bit by endgame when other strong blades catch up, but considering blades like Fiora and Telos are postgame/NG+, I can see him being top 5 up to that point
Corvin is a very solid all around blade and can do most things well as you said. But like I said, there are so many fantastic blades in the game that it's hard to justify him as being better or more useful in more situations than some of the others. There's something else you have to consider too: Is it better to be good at many things or to be great or the best at just 1 or 2 things? When you're using a team, generally blades that excel in specific purposes or offer strong support are going to be the ones that are top tier. Let's examine some blades that I think are better or possibly better than Corvin Qtpi: Can do literally everything, often better than anyone else. Has the best break art in the game and easy customization. Fiora: Top 3 dps in the game, gives 40% additive crit to the entire party, very fast and good specials, fills party gauge faster than anyone else Pandoria: Highest single target dps in the game, very strong with support Mythra/Pyra/Pneuma: strong dps with mythra, can easily spam level 3 specials for meter or orbs, very wide radius AoE on all specials, especially level 2. Very fast arts and specials, has foresight to make herself invincible with agility. Pneuma is the best support in the game, making all crit for party 100%, reduces break resist, hits all weaknesses, and takes all aggro with her massive defense. Elma: extremely high dps and has a solid support ability with overdrive, even if overdrive is outclassed and stacks slow. Kosmos: very strong AoE, strong all around like corvin, has insane damage in chain attacks. Very tanky with damage reduction. Shulk: offers party support with everything he does and has strong damage himself. Increases damage, evasion, accuracy of everyone and teams very well with mythra to make teams invincible. Telos: Very high damage when abilities are stacked, second best art spam in the game, very powerful specials that are strong in and out of chain attacks. Dagas: 120% party wide additive damage and AoE increase, very useful in a number of missions and against many enemies. Herald: The queen of speedkill chain attacks with her powerful 16 hit level 1 special. Patroka: doubles party damage against elemental weaknesses, has very high damage herself with her strong weapon and stacking additives. Can almost have infinite evasion with her own powerful evasion art. Crossette: Fusion combo bonus is very good for support, has high hit specials for chain attacks. Can spam 600K+ art damage with zeke and pulverizing dunk after stacking her insane 500% additive, full party heal on low cooldown art. So as you can see, we have so many strong blades now. Corvin is great, but so are all of these blades. It's hard to consider him better than all of these. I agree he's very good all around, but what does he offer outside of that? These are all things you have to consider.
a few notes on the Latin, most of your translations were pretty close but: lacerna noctis = cloak of night ex tenebris lux = light from darkness alae custodiae = guardian wings ictus = a strike or attack I was so happy when I saw the Latin names
The Latin names were good, but his level 4 special is iffy when translated. It comes out as " Plucking Death of Tyrants or Death Pluck to Tyrants " something like that. Maybe the pluck is there to keep in theme with the feathers 😂
@@muadibadder3345 evello is a 1st person singular verb, I think it means hear i pull/bring but with a pun because it can mean pluck too. mortem is accusative and tyrannis is abl. or dat. so it would be "I deliver death to tyrants". im pretty fluent in Latin but like,,, whitaker's words figured this one out
Latin looks sick for people who haven't learnt it but as soon as you translate it, it's like a name for a crappy skill. Same applies to the sorcerer class in octopath but it's even worse, they just use the infinitive after the noun.
1:38 probably because he was designed by Shingo adachi aka the guy who does the art for sword art online. And it really shows cause the second I saw this guy I immediately thought kirito and Eugeo did the fusion dance.
I agree, I maxed him out on Saturday, and said to my friend, that he is actually best male blade in the game. Thanks for the video - anyway, when do you plan to release Q&A video?
Shulk is better than Corvin. Level 2 AOE huge radius, level 3 AOE tons of damage blowdown effect. Vision 100% negates an I'm coming enemy art, has a passive that boost party damage and evasion. Corvin is good but he's not even top 10
Oh my god......A DUDE BLADE THAT IS NOT A GENERIC OR SHULK!!!!! I thought those were only urban legends but here he is and he's looking pretty damn cool.
You should try Corvin on Zeke, it's just ridiculous what Zeke can do just spamming Galactic Strike in BoC vs Elma: 200k damage per hit and basically untouchable.
I use him on Rex even tho he's not the tank. Ik it's not optimal at ALL but I like using blades on drivers who I feel like their designs and personalities fit with despite there actual usefulness and abilities
Doesn't Fuga Daemonum mean Demon's Flight? Lacerna Noctis should be Cloak of Night and Ex Tenebris Lux translates to Out of the Shadow Light Either I'm remembering everything from my one and a half year of Latin wrong or you might have found a bad translator.
AegisInferno If you’re on new game plus you should try replacing Theory with Mikhail She just kills every superboss in the game on the pure fact she doesn’t get hit and therefore one shot by most of their attacks
I still don't know how to customize my team. I'm stuck in my original blade set up and I've grown used to it I cant seem to work the dlc blades in to replace them. Not to mention I have to kick kasandra off of morag if I want mikael on her team...seriously depressing. I also have to switch praxis for patroka on rex. I actually opened corvin's crystal on nia because she needed a katana but he has his own catagory...so I'm giving theory to her now. Also based on the interactions I have seen I like to think Corvin is Nia's blade based on things in dialogue.
yeah, you reailize quickly that challenge mode and bringer of chaos will completely butcher your team set up. i have learned to just change up my party, aux core, accessorizes constantly to fit whatever i am fighting in those modes. Otherwise, the game is pretty much impossible if you just stick with your general setup.
@@goldmemberpb true. Its just upsetting looking at the characters that got me through the base game and saved my life (zenobia for example) and having to put them on the bench.
Level 3 special is the most broken thing in the game. Afterimages stack and last after fights have ended.. It also deals a lot more burst damage and damage over time off Photon. Level 2 special is great as well though. That area of effect and quick speed are great when Mòrag only has single hit arts.
I have him on Mòrag and man I love using him. She's basically unbeatable unless the enemy uses a driver combo. His arts recharge super fast and he builds up specials in no time, definitely one of my favorite blades both in design and combat.
I can honestly say Corvin is a top tier blade. Even though he's a tank blade, his abilites can make him a great attacker blade. Even though he has 'debuff cancel', it only work when he feels like using it. However I have tested out if he can evade status effects like shackles, healing blocks, affinity drops, and doom. And I can honestly say that, if you dont have the aux cores or accessories to stop certain effect, and dont 100% trust his debuff cancel to work in time, if you time it PERFECTLY with Corvins evasion move, not only will he evade the attack, but also the status effect before it inflicts you. ESPECIALLY DOOM. I tested it out multiple times and it is a GODSEND. Best blade out there. Totally work maxing the hell out.
Corvin is like Kos-Mos except he is a healing tank which is beast he's on par with T-elos in terms of being broken straight from the get go and just gets more and more broke the more ya fill their affinity charts.
Corvin's design reminds me of Tales of Zestiria's cast. especially that suit he is wearing together witth that low handing shortcut of his. much like how Perun was made by one of the artists that designed the characters for Code Geass.
Yea it would work but your better off ditching buster for shulk because shill is basically a less tanky more attack based light shield hammer and tanks can't keep aggro as well as high damage output blades can
Why everyone on videos have 1300+ auto attack with taquion chips?? I have that, but my max has ben 900+ 1000 so far, i have not ended the main game btw
Once you create the dark orb, you shouldn't be making more orbs. Every blade combo you do, depending on the third element of the combo, creates a seal. A combo that ends with the dark orb creates the "seal reinforecements". However, based on your statement, I'm assuming you were creating other orbs. When you create other elemental orbs, it overwrites the current seal to the seal of those new elements. So if you created, for example, a wind orb, or fire orb, after your dark orb, you took the seal reinforcement off and was replaced with whatever the wind seal or fire seal gives you. The tactic should be to immediately create a dark orb, refrain from creating any other orbs, kill the clones, chain attack, break the dark orb, chain attack, create dark another dark orb, chain attack, another dark orb, rinse and repeat. Breaking dark orbs will not take the seal reinforcement off. The only way that comes off is if you literally created another orb or blade combo that doesn't end with dark element.
@Nhat Anh Hoang Yeah, I know... Not even that, though. He even sounds and is written like Kirito and just so happens to be "OP". He's complete dog shit in every way.
So this is an out of left field question but can Pyra/Mythra get a 3rd Aux core? Cause I’ve seen some Xenoblade RU-vidrs display a Mythra with a 3rd Aux core and I’m wondering if that is Legit.
Kaxzc DragCon I've played through twice and you are welcome. I've spent a lot of time in game. If it was possible, I would know and be able to tell you how.
