Mio, Sena, and Taion do actually have the tattoos. Mio on her official art has the tattoo on her right side of her neck. Sena at 0:37 of the trailer on her left bicep, and Taion on his left hand is a black dot at 1:06 which is assumed to be his tattoo because everyone else has them.

Great video! Just one thing you may have missed... The scene where Noah and Mio are playing flutes together, they've swapped flutes. When Noah is in his Keves Military uniform his flute is mostly black (to match) but in the scene with Mio she's clearly playing the Keves flute while Noah seems to be playing a white one. Perhaps being off-seers is what gets them to a place of mutual understanding, and this bonding over each other's flutes and whatever abilities it holds?

Another interesting point about Noah's weapon is that it's jagged, very similar to the Aegis, and not a straight edge like the Monado. Though the weapon does have the circle to the hilt similar to the Monado. This makes the weapon look very similar in design to both the weapons. Could this weapon be the true fusion of the Monado and Aegis, just as the fusion of the two worlds. As a soldier of Keves you would expect Noah to wield a common sword shown by other soldiers, even Lanz's great sword is shown wielded by other soldiers in the trailer. As with the previous games we can probably expect Noah to obtain his weapon at early point of the game, and probably due to a circumstance that puts him in a position where it's power is needed. Of course his weapon will also somehow allow him to "break the rules" of the world, just as Shulk and Rex did with their own "red swords". Also quick point out that all the weapons the characters wield have the "clock dial" located on it, would Noah's sword allow him to manipulate the clocks and act as the "rule break" in this game?

@Rexaura888
@Rexaura888 2 года назад
5:40 I’m guessing from the fact that Mio is also called an off-seer and both of them seem close and play the flute which has been said to be centric to XC3 that off-seers are these flute players we’ve seen in the trailers and that they play songs to commemorate the dead, perhaps even seeing them off of this world that’s supposedly trapped in time. 10:10 Presumably the answer lies in Swordmarch based on one of the lines stated. Perhaps that is the source of the time prison’s power or where Ouroboros operates out of. 11:46 The 2 also had the X shaped scar that’s on Mythra’s Breastplate, her coattails, and Pyra’s scarf. 12:37 And probably for good reason, at least for Mio’s and Sena’s case. 13:25 This is definitely something I’m still trying to wrap my head around, especially given how much of a power the Kingdom of Uraya and its Titan are in XC2 as well as the ending. Be interested to hear about that in the ending spoiler talk. I can see that just from the game covers alone. XC(DE) has the Mechonis looming in the background while XC2 shows the Urayan titan breaching the Cloud Sea’s surface like a whale. It would make sense that if XC3 were to show the two worlds coming together that elements of both covers would be present in this one’s. 21:27 If rail grinding is required in XC3 then I sure hope it’s automated because I’m pretty sure it’s not in XC2, and the area below the rail here looks like a death plane. 22:03 At least in the then-traditional sense of Blades. More on that later. I also got Dannagh Region vibes from the oasis area (as well as bits of Aletta Region in the way the formations protrude out), but that makes no sense given the events of XC2. 23:43 Our fish man friend looks almost like an aquatic Igna with how hunched over he is. Igna are also the only humanoid enemy race in XC2 to ride on other monsters, manned Titan weapons like Archelon not included. 25:47 More RPGs need to include Fashion Gear slots! 30:03 I see what you did there. 33:40 Also her blue ether lines going down her body and the blue highlights in her hair. Her hammer also gives off a blue hue reminiscent of the ether that comes off of most active Blade weapons. Also Blades are known for having superhuman strength so it’s no surprise that Sena can wield a hug hammer like that with relative ease. I’m wondering if Taion is a Blade Eater or maybe is a Blade and just hiding his core. The way he controls his origami seems way beyond the physical capabilities of any of the races we’ve seen in Alrest, at least if they’re not Drivers. 35:00 It’s theorized that this character is Rex or Zeke, but honestly I don’t know what to believe. The argument for Rex is that he really looked up to Vandham and perhaps followed in his footsteps instead of going back to salvaging after finding Elysium. However, this character lacks the golden eyes Rex has. The argument for Zeke is the eyepatch as well as his Blade Eater status meaning that he likely has prolonged life. However, an eyepatch doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, especially with it having a different design than Genbu and while the different eye and hair color can be explained away with contacts/hair dye like how Zeke hid his Tantalese traits and possibly tried to emulate Addam’s features in wanting to be more like him, it’s hard to say without some form of confirmation. Then there’s the take that this is Vandham who somehow survived his encounter with Malos, Akhos, Sever, and Obrona or was resurrected in the convergence that made Aionios, but the lack of Urayan traits (pointed ears and the hardened skin/rocks/gills on the side of his face) makes me suspect of that. Perhaps this is his son, but we’re told he’s long-gone in post-battle dialogue and I don’t believe he’s ever brought up by NPCs during gameplay otherwise unless they talk about his son being dead. Perhaps Vandhams in the Xeno series are truly like Cids in the Final Fantasy series. To paraphrase Machinabridged, “When shit gets tough, Vandhams get shit done.” 36:55 I think that based on Flesh Eaters being an accepted part of the Agnus army where they were once considered monsters in the eyes of humanity and even some Blades, Nia would have to be the leader in order to show that Flesh Eaters aren’t such vile abominations and are just as much deserving of life as anyone else. Speaking of Nia, the similarities between her and Mio are so blatant. Both have Gormotti features. Both have white/grey hair. Both have shoes/guards that are white and red. Both wield Chakrams in battle. Both are Flesh Eaters. Both have names that are cat onomatopoeia (Nya and Meow/Mew respectively). There’s gotta be a strong connection between the two.

At first, Noah uses a black flute, but after the scene with Mio on the plateau at sunrise (or sunset?), he then uses a white flute, while Mio uses his black flute. Could the swapping of flutes be a symbol of peace between the two Off-Seers, each now mourning for the other nation's departed?

Something you guys didn't touch on which I think might be significant is that each of the main characters has a color of the rainbow reflected off of one of their feet in the official art. Noah(red) Taion(orange) Eunie(yellow) Lanz(green) Senna(blue) and Mio(indigo). Mio's is a little harder to see because her foot is raised up but her right foot has an indigo hue on it that her left doesn't have. It's also worth noting that no one has a violet color so there might even be a seventh party member that we haven't been shown yet. I don't know what it means and it might just be visual flair but I thought I'd point it out for anyone who hasn't already noticed.

7:05 Actually, it can be a trick of the lighting. Both scenes where Eunie’s wings look black are taking place in low-light areas, with Eunie’s face in the “What’s hood with filling up these clocks,” line facing away from the light source.

In terms of 3:30 the word Keves is also the romanization of the Hebrew word for Sheep, כבשים, which ties in much better with Agnus being the Latin word for Lamb. Both are also important languages for the Bible!

It's worth to note that literally every character's weapon has that same "clock" as Noah's sword does, so it leads me to believe that it's some sort of fuel source, or maybe something spiritually related. Maybe instead of just Noah's sword being special to the story, it's the entire party's weaponry that are special.

A few more details: The shot in the trailer where Noah and Mio are playing the flute together - they're playing each other's instruments. The opening shot has Noah playing on a black flute, but in the duet scene, Mio's playing the black instrument and Noah's playing a white one. Lanz is built like a tank. But, in Xenoblade 1, Machina are not physically bulky or strong. There's a whole sidequest about this ('Power Up', with Rakzet) and Egil fights on foot with drones. Why is Lanz so bulky? Will XC3 have elements of transhumanism? It's been noted that Sena is much stronger than her frame suggests, which also points in this direction. Sena is a blade. Who's her driver and where are they? Does she even have one? If she doesn't have a driver, might she be a blade eater? Accents. In XC1, most characters talked with accents from southern England, mostly the classic 'received pronunciation' (RP) accent or variants of it. In XC2, the accents for humanoid characters were from the UK and Commonwealth, but the blades had American accents. Noah and Lanz have neutral RP accents and Sena has an American accent, no surprises so far. Taion has a neutral-ish RP accent with hints of an inflection I'd normally associate with black people (he *is* black, so...). If he's ethnically Alrestian, this would imply Tantalese/Tornan lineage, but he might be ethnically Bionite, which would be very interesting. Eunie has a very interesting accent: I can't place it nationally (which implies it might be where I'm from, in the midlands, because you can never recognise your own accent) but what's noticeable is that, whereas the High Entia in XC1 all talked with refined RP accents, Eunie has a much coarser accent, with prevalent contractions. This would imply that the social structures of XC1 have broken down, if there's a High Entia talking with a lower-class accent. Mio has a Gormotti Welsh accent, which I could swear is a little less thick than Nia's and the Gormotti accents from XC2. Mio also sounds like she could be voiced by Nia's voice actress, Catrin-Mai Huw, lending further support to my hypothesis that Mio is a clone of Nia.

XC2 Vandam was an Urayan ( whose characteristics are fish like gills they have around their necks ) , which XC3 Vandham isn't , also XC3 Vandam seems to have a smaller build , lighter skin , different bear and a different hair color and possibly eyes? ( the lighting makes it difficult to tell )

Noah's got a little bit of Fei, Pneuma, Logos, Klaus and Shulk in him design wise. Has a little bit of Rex in his voice too. Eunie seems to be a crossbred of a Homs and High Entia. She seems to have a little bit of Fiora in her. Also the fact that Noah, Lanz and Eunie are basically the equivalent of Shulk, Reyn and Fiora. The tattoos show the color red, a color Ontos is associated with. Also wonder if we'll see the Mechonis gear like shoulder part lying around somewhere, which is very similar to the gigantic gear thing we see in Oblivia.

@CosmoTheCosmicCat

One theory I've seen regarding the tattoos, and what I think is the most likely, is that they are hourglasses showing the person's remaining lifespan. All of the party members have this tattoo (yes all 6). Also, it would tie in to the idea that they have to "live to fight and fight to live". Furthermore, Noah's character bio says that it is a world where it is necessary to take the lives of others in order to live. This would also tie in to the line about people being fuel and would potentially explain why some characters who should be long lived are not. I am expecting this game to get dark. Another interesting theory about Ourobouros is that it is not some antagonistic group, but the name for the protagonists' group. You can see what appears to be an ourobouros symbol on their weapons after they join up as a party.

@CosmoTheCosmicCat
@CosmoTheCosmicCat 2 года назад
@@PJDAltamirus0425 Not necessarily. The voice clips in the trailer are taken from random parts of the game. We don't actually know the context behind it all. "Ouroboros abhor the world" could just mean that they hate the situation of the world, not that they are the enemies. And the "they must be eliminated without a trace" isn't necessarily talking about Ouroboros. It could be talking about anyone really. We don't know who the "they" is. The two lines aren't actually connected to each other. They're separate.

Considering how its both worlds together i think the line "I refuse to believe your him" is quite likely in reference to a previously well known or at least respected hero or person from a previous game or new character entirely but still fulfilled the role of hero but was assumed to be dead or disappeared. 20:46 The mechs have the symbol on the same side, the one in the waterfall area has just been flipped over somehow. You can see it's legs flailing back and forth. Plus it's shooting wildly as if it's lost control, or the crew inside are just panicking from having their giant mech flipped over. 6:51 It's barely visible, but you can see a very hard edge of white at the top of her right wing (your left) which leads me to believe it's just a lighting issue. This is supported by the very next scene where her wings are the same shade of black, but you can easily see light moving across them. As far as the Vandham lookalike is concerned, I'm fairly certain Monolith decided to make all Vandhams going forward look similar (and probably share a VA) and this isn't the same person. Don't get me wrong, XB2 Vandham is my favorite character in that game. He got done dirty. I want him to be back and have the limelight he deserves. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized it's probably less complicated than we're making it out to be. It would just cause so many more problems if it was the same character.

Some details you missed. 3:23 - Keves is Hebrew for "sheep" which pairs well with Agnus' name. Perhaps it implies someone is the shepherd and leading the two nations astray? 5:39 - An off-seer _is_ someone who mourns for soldiers who have lost their lives on the battlefield. The Japanese description makes this more clear. It appears to be a specific role within the two nations' armies. 6:17 - This was mentioned on Xenoblade's Japanese Twitter account, but it appears this was recorded before these tweets were made, so I won't blame you for this, but all six characters are stated to be 18, except for Mio, who is 19. This would definitely imply that the dilution of the High Entia effected their life span as well. 9:07 - This is less of a correction and more my own thoughts, but I definitely think it's Flame Clock. Every time I've heard someone else bring it up, they're referred to it as such. I can't hear the word "Blade" at all when Mio speaks. Not sure how Chugga is getting that. 12:25 - Mio and Sena have the symbol visible on their bodies as well. Mio's is just _barely_ visible on the right side of her neck in her official art, and Sena's can be seen on her bicep in the trailer. Taion is the only one who we haven't seen with the symbol so far. 15:42 - This was also in the Japanese Twitter descriptions, so again, I won't blame you, but the info we were given about the six characters imply Attacker, Defender, and Mage archetypes. Noah and Mio are the attackers, Lanz and Sena are the defenders, and Eunie and Taion are the mages. Mio is described as swift and great at dodging attacks (kind of like a thief, being super fast but dealing less damage), Sena matching a Shield Hammer implies she would be a defender like Shield Hammers in XC2 rather than an attacker, and Taion's flying paper origami gimmick fits for a mage. 19:02 - What appears to be another collection point can be seen here. Just felt that was worth noting. 24:09 - The landscape in the background without a doubt matches the top of the Bionis while in Eryth Sea, implying this _is_ the remains of Eryth Sea. 33:33 - Also worth mentioning since I said the age 18 thing means the High Entia bloodline is even further diluted that Lanz could be a Machina/Homs hybrid of sort, and that effects his lifespan. Sena being a Blade and Mio being a Flesh Eater also would not make sense if they are both 18. Perhaps they're hybrids of some kind as well? 37:14 - Another thing worth noting about Noah is his name, clearly coming from Biblical origins, which is by no means a first for Takahashi and the Xeno series as a whole. Maybe what the Biblical Noah did could hint at Noah's role in the game?

12:32 You can actually see the symbol in Mio's neck if you look closely at her art. You can also see it in Sena's arm, near her shoulder, when she first appears in the trailer. And Taion seems to have a dark spot on the inside of his hand when the group is running in one of the shots, in that beach-like area with the big monster. This could also be the same symbol that the others have. This implies that the symbol is not exclusive to the people from Keves. Another interesting fact about symbols is that, in the banner of the offical japanese Xenoblade account, aside from the logo, you can see other 2 different symbols, one of which can be found in Taion's jacket. I don't know what it means, but it's interesting. Edit: Okay now I'm pretty sure that the symbol on Taion's jacket represents people who are from Agnus, thanks to the chart published by XenobladeJP, which reasures my point of the tattoo/symbol on Noah's hand, Lanz's chin and Eunie's chest not being a thing exclusive to the people from Keves. Pretty cool!.

it could be since there are currently 3 Keves and 3 Agnus, but remember that the player party is *4 characters* this time around, so additional roles like rogue (sneak attacks, dodging, stealing) and bard (by which i mean buffs/debuffs) could be at play here. given Taion is described as a "tactician," i'm willing to bet his character isn't a straight tank and may fall into bard territory. it's also highly possible that the character roles are mixed depending on player preferences, hinted at as a possibility by Eunie's character. it could be possible that all characters can be pushed into one of two directions. ...or perhaps they're just found a balanced area for her to be! hard to say.

37:48 (I am talking about the spoilers part of the video, so keep that in mind.) The thing in Noah’s sword is the same what is seen in both Eunie’s Gunrod (name confirmed recently Nintendo Twitter), Mio’s Twin Rings, and Sena’s hammer in their art work. It seems to be some kind of power source for the weapon, but the bigger weapons might need more energy. Also, on Monolith’s Twitter, all the playable characters shown got a confirmed age of 18, except for Mio, who is 19. Maybe Homs, High Entia, and Machina all got to a point where they age like normal Homs, but still have certain features, like wings or Machina skin.

that symbol isn't just present those characters, but basically every weapons belonging to all of keeves and agnus from foot soldiers to mechs. by the way you can see the one for Taion on his wrist at 15:02 and the one for lanz in a few shots around 25:27. Additionally, these symbols are replaced with a purple ouroboros on all the main characters in any scenes that appear to take place after the 2 parties team up. One final thing to mention, all the keeves soldiers have the blue disk things that Shulk had in future connected, which was confirmed to be a power source for his replica monado. If those are used for powering the weapons already, the symbols on everyone's weapons may be something different.

I think Taion might be a Blade Eater. He covers up most of his body, possibly to hide his core crystal, and there’s also the fact that humans in XC2 don’t just “get good” with ether, they have to use a blade’s power to control it. Flesh eaters evidently still exist so the blade eater technology could have survived or been reinvented (since Zeke would have lived a long time after the events of XC2 so he would be a prime specimen for study) Speaking of Zeke, I think he is the more likely identity of the Vandham lookalike given how similar their features are. Maybe he could be posing as the old war hero to keep a cover (or just to do Zeke things, you know how he is) but that’s just speculation. I’m curious to see how this plot point pans out.

What I found interesting that I didn't notice until now was that at 12:43, we see Noah and Mio playing each other's flute instead of their own. Could the different flutes hold different powers or meanings, or is it simply a matter of Keves vs Agnus design?

Noah and Mio are swapping their flutes between them! Note the color of the flutes they play in the various scenes. Noah's flute in the first scene is black. Then in the next scene with the flutes, he is playing a white flute, while Mio is playing the black flute. Then when they hold out their flutes towards eachother, Noah again has the black, while Mio has her white. But they are in the act of exchanging their flutes serimoniously. Then in the last shot of the trailer, Noah has black and Mio white. My guess is that it might be more than just a story element, but probably also a gameplay element, as to which one has which flute.

A couple things of note: Those clock like things are on all weapons of the main characters. In the concept art, they're full. They're also full in scenes where the group is together. When it's full it makes a n Oroborus like shape. This may hint that Oroborus is the name of the party after joining up. All soldiers have that tatoo, not just Keves. Agnus soldiers have theirs in the concept art. Keves, is a Hebrew word that means lamb. As for the large man in the trailer, that's not Vandamm. Wrong skin color and it would totally undermine the power of that amazing cutscene in XC2. No, this is Rex. Adult Rex who modeled himself after Vandamm fought to stop the war. The colors of his jacket even slightly match the color of his diving gear. There's a theory going around that the two nopon we saw are two party members. I hope this isn't true. I hope they're comic relief. Why wouldn't they be on the ground with the others if they were apart of the team. If we do get another party member from each side, I want them to be returning characters.

A couple of things I want to point out: Personally, despite not seeing his core crystal because of his clothes, I think Taion is a blade as well. His powers match with the blades' whacky powers. Also, what if the Vandham-like character is just an actor? After all Minoth was tasked with writing a play about him in XC2. Then, about the giant mechon at the start of the trailer, many people made the connection to Metal Face, however it looks more like Jade Face in my opinion. Finally, why is nobody questioning the presence of Mechonis's sword?! It was destroyed during the events of XC1, how is it still intact? And also didn't the XC2 titans merge into a single landmass at the end of XC2? It seems like they aren't where we last left them. All of this is so intriguing, I cannot wait to know more. Let's only hope that the gameplay is more similar to XC1 than XC2.
