Okay, this is the best. My name is now the name of a star in the constellation Orion, a planetary system in Star Trek, and now the name of a weapon for my favorite Xenoblade chronicles character!
I recently had a similar problem to the saving thing. Fortunately, the game I'm currently LPing is one I played enough to know how long it would take for me to get back to where I was. So I wasn't discouraged from recording. If anything, it makes for a good little story.
I have had that happen to me a few times when I had forgotten to save or something like that so I had to play back up to where I recorded up to as well kinda annoying but nothing I could do but replay back to that point.
Kaioken591 I had the same thing happen relatively recently when I was recording Wild Arms. My game messed up between the first and second episode of a 3-part session, and I had to go back through the first portion again. Granted, it was only 30 minutes or so, but it was still a bit annoying. It turned out fine, though, because I got better recordings off of that, anyway!
Kaioken591 I felt that pain, too. My bro and I played ORAS and I forgot to save 3 hours in. My brother pushed the power button on my 3DSXL, resetting my progress after I saved when I got the shiny Beldum. Ironically, I beat the Delta Episode before he did, so that was some retribution.
While I'm not a LPer (at least not yet) I have had a bad experience with saving. I got to Jokes End in M&L:SS and my battery died while I was saving. My data was deleted and 13 hours of my life was wasted
man Emile that was one of the most outstanding fights in XC I've seen so far, I wonder if something like that will be accomplishable in XCX and I won't say anything since I heard you don't what spoilers
I found the giants' treasure to be super disappointing when I first played this game. I saw that side quest as the ultimate endgame side quest, the quest that you had been building towards since the beginning of the game, and what did I get for it? A mediocre weapon for Fiora, and some mediocre armor. Come on Xenoblade! Mystery of the Makna ruins gave me an optional Monado art, but the ultimate giants treasure has absolutely nothing to do with the Monado!? I love this game, but man was I sad when I found the giants treasure.
***** That's kinda what you do with a series. Or do you just stop by to harass the commenters? If you did managed to get here without watching all of the episodes, I recommend watching them, its pretty good, but a bit long.
Of course Fiora got off easy, Vanea seemed to have pretty much free reign when it came to turning her mechanical and making her compatible with Face Nemesis, whereas the likes of Mumkhar and Gadolt in all likely hood were worked on by Egil.
@@SorowFame probably prioritized making them into weapons instead of survival and the like. It's also arguable that Vanea actually isn't good at making faces. Fiora is the only face we see failing after becoming a faced mechon and struggling occasionally with basic things like becoming exhausted for no reason. This may be because she was powered by meyneth originally or because of lasting damage from either becoming a face or from mumkhar. Gadolt and mumkhar never seemed to struggle after becoming a face.
@@Kobolds_in_a_trenchcoat I’d argue that Fiora’s technical issues could be because she’s a Face existing outside of the actual Mechon weapon. The people piloting Faces were only really needed for their ability to pump blood through the machine, so presumably that’s what their bodies were wired to do. Fiora running around outside Nemesis means her body is not existing as it was designed to. We don’t see Mumkhar or Gadolt outside their mechs for very long periods of time, so it could be assumed that after going weeks without being in their mechs their bodies would start breaking down too.
Tip for anyone playing this game: Link Glorious Future, Ultimate Teamwork, and Explosion of Energy onto Melia. She is GODLIKE with those skills, and you can probably figure out why.
Brendan Reid YOM2 Glorious Future: Shulk's final skill with his fifth skill branch, Bravery, if a vision shows up, the user's talent gauge is automatically maxed out. Ultimate Teamwork: Shulk's final skill with his first Integrity skill branch, increases chain attack damage by 25%. Explosion of Energy: Fiora's final skill branch with her fourth skill branch, using a Talent art will raise always raise a level of tension.
Excadrill Excalibur Interesting... Am I correct in assuming that Explosion of Energy boosts Melia's tension when she uses a familiar? Because that's really amazing. Melia's summon bolt is already amazing in chain attacks, so Ultimate teamwork would make it just outrageous... and Glorious future would activate Melia's Elemental Burst whenever there's a vision? I just checked, and Explosion of Energy is REALLY expensive to link, using a whopping 80 affinity coins... I'm not sure if I'll end up linking that, but I'll definitely link Ultimate Teamwork when I unlock it (18 affinity coins). I havn't unlocked Shulk's 5th skill tree yet, so I don't know how many affinity coins Glorious Future uses...
I never thought about Fiora's design... Your right though, Fiora doesn't look as mechanical as Gadolt or Mumkhar. I wonder if they did that to make her transition back to homs easier to believe.
***** I looked at Gadolt on the 3ds model viewer... HE'S MEESED UP! eriously there is a hole in his chest and holes at the top of his thighs that how he has a mechanical spine and legs, he's ripped in half! all that's left is half his body, one arm and half his face!
***** Honestly, I never really was bothered by Fiora's Mechon design. I mean, the "more mechanical" part I can understand like with Gadolt or Mumkhar, but based on her neutral Mechon outfit (the one she's in when piloting Face Nemesis), it's fine enough for me in my opinion. Maybe I just didn't want her to be, like, all mechanical all over, I don't know. Doesn't change the fact that she's still an awesome character though!
...am I the only one that really likes Fiora? I really liked playing as her in colony 9 and spent a lot of time leveling the party up to fight the Wallside Gwynry in Tephra Cave. When Fiora died I felt just as determined as Shulk to destroy all the Mechon. And of course, I was ecstatic when she was alive, and even more so when she came back to the party. Also, a few things about her design. We saw her get stabbed by metal face, likely somewhere in the torso region. We never saw how Gadolt or Mumkhar were injured. It makes sense that her face remained unchanged, since she wasn't even damaged there. Second, her default armor is very modest, and really made me realize how robotic she had become. The other armors I felt were there to make it feel like she was back by your side as a home, since the quest was no longer fueled by Shulks desire for revenge. And it isn't too hard to look at, if you know what I mean. *insert Lenny.* But yeah, Fiora is by far my favorite playable character in the game, followed by Dunban and Shulk. Not even in a fetishy attractive way. I've just always really liked her.
Fiora follows a rule regarding beauty never being tarnished. Despite being a Mechon, she looks more like she just found some Mechon armor and slapped it on as opposed to being cybernetic.
shunkwugga How I imagine it: Shulk, "Fiora, Did you find anything?" Fiora, "I found mechon peices" *construction noises* Shulk, "Here." Suddenly, armor.
3:25 The 3 Treasures of the Giants. A.k.a "Giant spider jumps out behind you." "THREE giant spiders jump out behind you." and "Have to run through a cave of lv 90 spiders and fight a level 95 giant spider." There items should seriously be called "Arachnophobe's Bane".
With respect to Fiora's Mechon design, go back to why she was turned into a Mechon in the first place. Vanea specifically chose Fiora to be the vessel for Meyneth because of her relationship with Shulk, then Heir to the Monado (of Zanza), would increase the chances that the next incarnation of the gods would be on good relation once again. Because of the mechanical augments going into a Hom's body may cause another Hom (or rather, any Hom other than Shulk ironically) to possibly lose interest, Vanea more than likely either minimized external augments or even used biological reconstruction instead of mechanical of key features such as her face to minimize risk of the relationship faultering from Fiora's Mechon form. She does have a lackluster mechanical form compared to Mumkar and Gadolt, but it's justified to keep her as Homs looking as possible for the sake of another Hom.
Honestly, though I like Fiora as a character, something about her voice just grates on me. It sounds like she's always on the edge of a voice crack or something.
These treasures are supposed to belong to giants, right? So why are all the treasures small enough to comfortably fit a normal size Homs? That's not exactly giant. Maybe they were baby clothes, or something ...
Kuri, like the chestnut but not Real Fact: The smaller something is, the easier to hold (or even hide) it becomes. Also, you question that but not how they have 40 sets of armor for each person and like 8 thousand weapons?
DHG x Ace Wolf Well humans have developed many sets of armor and weapons over the years. And how would the Giants wear armor so small? Unless they tied all of the human sized armor together...
Rusty Shackleford Ah, my mistake! I must have misread, or completely missed, something as I did not realize they were talking about the armor, but rather about the three treasures you needed to open the door.
Kuri, like the chestnut but not I'd like to think this happened: Giant 1: "Hey, why did you wash the clothes in cold water like I told you *not* to do?"Giant 2: "Oh, I thought you said to wash them in cold water!"Giant 1: "You dingus! Aww, whatever, just throw them in a chest and put them in the ruins. No one will ever find them."
Cthulufaic I like to think that it was intentional, cause Aigis's character/development is a lot like a certain other robot girl from a Xeno game, so Monolith just kinda returned the favor, if you will. Although I've never actually played Xenosaga, so I may totally be off about KOS-MOS.
How I know Xenoblade is a VERY GOOD GAME I live in a middle eastren country (Oman) where everybody is basically a mountain dew doritas cod/fifa gamer That being said Xenoblade 3D was still able to be sold out in a day (nonetheless) from the shelf and the store had to restock because of the hundreds of orders of people who want it me being one of them Eventhough it sucks that I have to wait for the store to re-stock its awesome that I know that such a great game is being recieved well (sales wise) Sorry for bad english
*Hey, I Heard You Like Shulk.* Yes I Did This, You Knew This Was Coming. I Had To Do This, It's Tradition! #HeyIHeardYouLikeShulk HEY, I HEARD YOU LIKE MUDKIPS!
You know what the best part is? The entire innocence skill branch is made out of diamonds, which means you can't link them to Melia *insert Chugga's poor Melia voice*
14:31 Chuggaa: If your Monado Shield is not Level 10, you want some other way of shattering these vision tags. Sharla: How is that possible? Listen. That really does happen.
Franny my thought was the plot for the third twilight movie, that vampires are strongest right after they turn, so someone made an army of young vampires
I think the part of Fiora's Mechon design being very similar to her Homs design is just to show that "she's still a good person" and so it wouldn't feel so weird when she joins the party... or at least to point out that "you can still save her, even if she has a mechanical body now" or something... dunno...
Young Brog sounds like Smokey Prog from Pikmin, which is ALSO a younger version of an enemy that is stronger than it's adult form. Coincidence? I think NOT!
Comparing Fiora's mechon design to Gadolt's and Mumkhar isn't exactly fair, as Fiora didn't die the same way the other two did (presumably) Fiora was stabbed through the stomach or chest, while the other two... we don't know how they died, but we can assume their facial features were damaged in some way. With how Fiora died, she didn't need to have her face configured.
Maybe they could've changed how Fiora died a small bit, maybe she could have been stabbed in the face, but her brain would be destroyed and that means Fiora is dead, no reviving her period. Maybe she could have had her face cut off of sliced? That seems *really* graphic, and not very T for Teen... If Fiora never died in front of Shulk, the event wouldn't have had the same impact...
I immagine FINALLY being strong enough to get revenge on Deinos Saurus is so satisfying. I remeber all those frountier village quests that were so much harder than they should have been because of him going "HEY GUYS, CAN I JOIN THIS BATTLE???" Also, we unlock Fiora's "Shipping" skill branch. Why is this one so hard to get??
I'm not entirely against Fiora's design, though I find much of her armor needlessly revealing (the same can be said about Sharla), especially since Mumkhar was neck-to-toe metal.
I've been thinking of the treasures of the Giants since the last episode. I don't know if it has been brought up already, but they could be related to another set of 3 in another game: The Truth symbolizing wisdom, the Daring representing courage and the Heart standing for power (OK, that's a bit of a stretch, I know). So the Giants created the Triforce... to seal a door.
37:42 When I watched episode 101 of this video, I was looking forward to the series ending, but now; I have never wanted this series to end more than now. Life, y u part time troll?
Baby enemy stronger than grown up ones? Chugga didn't you say that the smoky prog from Pikmin was just a baby and it was one of the most dangerous creatures in that game?
BTW, chuggaa... thanks so much for all the awesome LPs! Don't know if you hear this often or not, but you really make our days sometimes! We appreciate it!
You know, I don't quite agree with the whole Fiora thing. I mean, sure, visually, she still has a humanoid figure and a pretty face. But it's a helluva lot more than just her aspect. She looks obviously robotic, and I'm sure that most of her huma- I mean, Hom body organs are gone. She doesn't function as a Hom anymore. Therefore, she doesn't /feel/ a Hom. And being in a romantic relationship? Age, children, all kinds of problems come up from what usually makes a loving couple. So yeah, it is a big deal and Fiora obviously feels like crap about it. Pretty sure it's not just a visual thing they're implying. The simple fact that she is obviously robotic, even if still atractive as a Hom, is the problem that haunts Fiora.
28:00 Are are some gems that seem useless, until you find that ONE FIGHT you can't beat without it. This fight made me farm for Daze Resist gems. A successful Mega Heat will result in two Grade VI 100% gems. Total immunity at the low price of a single slot.
Well they kept the the looks of Fiora somewhat the same because of the cut-seen of Shulk finding her again. Also kept the same because some people would think it was a totally different person when it really is not. Also I really didn't see any difference between the visions of Gadolt and when you see him as a Mechon. (Hopefully I didn't spell anything wrong. _-_ )
Gonna have to say I somewhat disagree on Fiora's design as a Mechon, I mean, I think she looks awesome even though she still kind of looks like a regular Homs wearing robotic leggings...and skimpy panties around the nether regions...I'd go so far as to say it's actually kind of a shame she went back to normal at the end, but oh well.
If the Mechon changed Fiora's face then Shulk probably wouldn't have recognized her. I mean her face was the only part of her not covered by her default armor.
Ms. High Entia Refugee must live a depressing second half of her life if she and Dulland really go anywhere. He'd be dead before she even reaches her halfway point!
Maybe the young brog is like that enemy from Pikmin (I forget the name) that's an absolute nightmare as a baby but is completely defenseless when older
That one unique monster in the Bone Corridor, Musical Vanflare, always kinda scared me. It's meant to be a vang, but it's the only vang in the whole game that's that freaking big. Caught me off guard first time I saw it, really makes you wonder how old that thing is.
Innocence branch just makes me wish they had a few more combos between characters. Shulk/Reyn, Reyn/Sharla and Fiora/Dunban combo skills would be cool.
I am SO glad you brought up Fiora's post-mechon design because it's been bothering me a lot.. It's just another case of she has horrible things happen to her BUT she still needs to look pretty and not to mention sexy and it really bothers me? Like what are the functions for mechon boobs?? do the have ANY purpose? Mechanical boobs probably don't belong there for anything other than aesthetics and seeing as the mechon are purely MECHANICAL you'd think aesthetics (i.e. looking sexy) would be the absolute LAST thing they'd be thinking about?? Also her exposed skin is just weird and completely out of place.. I for one would have been down for like a bald fiore with a metal plate in her face just to highlight the fact that the mechon did in fact change her and NOT just give her mechaboobies.. I'm not saying i dislike fiora because i really like her character but this has been bugging me alot.
A comment that I’ve seen that explains it the best was when making fiora a mechon egil wasn’t making her his sister was and she was trying to make peace between bionis and meconis and so tried to keep her attractive to true heir to the monado (aka shulk) so the reborn versions of the two gods would be friends ... this did not work
About the Heart to Heart in the beginning, those are some really realistic reactions to snow. I live in the Northern US, opposite of chuggaa, and i see tourists and family members absolutely amazed by the stuff, then they hate it the second they touch it.
Chugga, I grew up in Minnesota, I was born when there was a blizzard, it snows half of the year at the most. You grew up in a sunny climate, you got nothing but sun, you live in an opposite place then me.
Thank you chugga. You said stuff I wanted to say about fiora for a while. When I saw that more armor showed even more skin on her, it almost completely ruin her mechon look.
I'm gonna point 2 things I've seen about this game, 1 when shill first gets the Monado, how does he kill bunnits if the Monado can't hurt bio is born beings? And 2 when juju tries to go to colony 6 he says" I'll go and, make dinner", and then he gets captured by a Mechon who wants to eat him for dinner, so he made himself dinner
macman1218 It seems that the Monado only can't hurt beings like the Homs and High Entia (and Nopon I imagine). However, it works just fine against common animals.
So Fiora hadn't seen snow until coming to Valak Mountain, yet she named an item in Colony 9 "Plate Snow" when she was young... That doesn't really make sense Plate Snow "A horrible little white thing that Fiora named when she was little"
i literally got stuck next to the chest for over 30 minutes by 3 sage summit, unable to finish the quest for that time, because i got stuck in a fight with a level 99 invited slabos. i had sharla and shulk in the party so we were able to stay alive the entire time, but the only reason it took so long was because MELIA WOULDN'T FREAKING USE HER TALENT ART. she just kept summoning elements and did absolutely nothing the entire time
To the people complaining: This is Emile's favorite game of all time. He wants to show EVERYTHING. You don't care 'bout the LP after the fight with Zanza? Good for you! Now leave the LP 'til Emile's finished with it & into the next LP (Seriously, I can imagine Emile's very first reaction to Night time Valak mountain).
Just random, but Reyn time is being replaced Me Time xD. Playing Animal Crossing and one of my villagers, Apollo, is just going crazy saying "ITS ME TIME!" And I really didn't give him that catchphrase... I am wondering where he learned it...
Interesting timing there Chugga, I just had to redo two videos this morning. I've just started doing Let's Play videos not long ago, but already I've had some trouble with videos not recording right and so forth. In this case, I recorded two videos before saving my game. Upon watching the videos, it turns out that a little ways into the second video I found that the recording was lagging badly, despite no lag in the actual gameplay. However, because I didn't save between the two recordings, in order to fix the second recording, I had to redo both videos. So, while it was probably closer to an hour's work instead of two hours, I still get the idea. In fact, I ended up waiting a day to re-record because, just like you said, I didn't really feel up to continuing right then. Ah well lol. In any case, I really appreciate your hard work. I've actually been using your style to generate some ideas of my own. Once I get some time, I'm hoping to put some links to the other videos in the playlist, just like how you often have buttons to move forwards or backwards in your own video playlists. I also appreciate that you keep your videos cleaner than most. I know a lot of people won't even care, but I find it hard to find anything all that clean in language, content, etc. these days. Either way, great job as always, and good luck on your future LPs. =)
