Darkpsy is sub-genre in psychedelic trance. In darkpsy there are more subs, such as horror, psycore and forest. Understand this: In music there is NO black and white, classification made to help us learn the music, with all it's layers but there is no 1 right answer listen to great Electerypnose, he's making progressive, goa and full-on in one track This track is GOA TRANCE, with a lot of darkpsy elements but it's still goa.
The official name of the genre is Dark psytrance (short: Darkpsy). Horror Trance is just another name for the same genre. Others are Black Trance, Psycore, Forest Trance and Killer Psytrance. It's all the same genre really.
@Pl4sm0 Hm, it's even not Darkpsy.. How Mark P. himself says it is Apocalyptic Trance (what's in case similar to Horror Trance). So it's nor goa nor darkpsy ;-) he once told me this by himself when i compared his music with darkpsy..
That's what I said... Apocalyptic Trance = Horror Trance.. Apocalyptic just what Mark Petrick (who is Xenomorph) says.. and I think music is what the artist says it is. :-) But like you say, who gives a fuck.. if we would call it Irish Folk it would still sound same - and it sounds fucking great!
Uuh.. I don't think classification range is wider in electronica. But I know what you mean, but why did you start to discuss when you're bored about it? ;-)
