XG - PUPPET SHOW (Official Music Video) | REACTION + OUR INTERPRETATION! 

It also reminds me of the proverb "the nail that sticks out get hammered down." XG trying to do their thing but they're standing out apart from everyone else. Some people don't like that & try to restrain them.

It''s probably best depicted by this scene 1:44 The entity is holding Juria when she's trying to fly and seemed to holding Hinata back so she wouldn't follow Juria. I might be wrong though. The sad thing is that they said "imagine a world," as in, a world like that might not exist (or at least in music business if that's what they are referring to). But as a man, I'm really proud of their attitude. Don't take shit from nobody.

I've seen a lot of people trying to figure out what the message for this MV was and the controversies that have come from certain interpretations. After listening to Simon's IG posts, explanations, and XGALX docu-series this is what I was able to figure out: the girls are singing about how the industry treats girl groups, particularly overseas. If you pay attention to the lyrics you can catch some of the more heavy implications on how many companies view their artists: "It's time I get what I deserve. Act like you don't know what I'm worth. We spend a lot of time talking, but it feels like I'm never heard." Obviously, the artists aren't being taken seriously, no matter how hard they work, how much attention they garner, or money they're earning the company. They still are being mistreated and disregarded, used as products/brands. A great example of that is when Harvey's part comes up early on. "Listen to what comes out my mouth, before you try to take me out." Now you can take that at face value or look deeper into what she's saying. Paired with the fact that she's speaking out, Harvey points to her mouth while singing. Upon closer examination, her teeth appear to be dark and bloody as if someone hit her in retaliation. The MV transitions as Harvey then points to Jurin. The first thing that everyone notices with her are her sharp shark teeth and quick elbow jabs into the air (as if she's fighting, you see the group punching and using the same elbow move again later on). The differences in Harvey and Jurin's appearances leave lasting impressions despite how beautiful they are. They're still being puppeteered by outside forces as the girls fight to be treated fairly. " We'll make them do what WE enjoy" "They'll do anything, anything, when you got them hanging by a string" "We play them like they're plastic dolls" Unsurprisingly, many industry contracts are unfair. It isn't uncommon to have the artist do things that they personally do not agree with or want to do - they become the product to be dressed up and showcased how the company sees fit. Take for instance how Juria is trying to run, eventually jumping up towards the balloon (her ambitions) to float away. Before she can escape, she's grabbed by the ankle as one of the white giants holds her back. The same giant holds onto Hinata, keeping the 3 of them grounded as Hinata helplessly looks up to Juria. Likewise you see Chisa, Jurin, Hinata, and Maya look for escape routes. Many of the "artists" also try to escape, but they blow up in the white beams of lights. It isn't until the artist, the one in blue and white, takes a deep look at Hinata and disappears that things change. The one in white and blue that explodes, that is symbolic of their producer Simon. Simon was also in the music industry before XGALX. He was actually a member of the boy group DMTN. He faced many of the same hardships as XG and saw the ins and outs of how the industry worked with their artists, how poorly many of them were treated, and the sort of environments that they were made to grow in. He wanted to break away from it all, find his own company, and do things in a manner where young artists could grow in a healthier environment. This is how XG was founded. When the explosion bursts into blue smoke, the ground shakes and all the people except XG fall. This is because XG is elite, being nourished and trained by producers and a company that genuinely cares for them and their opinions. No one else can hold a candle to them as they make waves across the board.

@@kit_the_kat741 YES THIS!!! Thank you so much for taking your time to post this! I usually go into depth when I explain what XG is about but this was so perfectly explained through your comment. Everything from their music, interviews, and especially their documentary shows them breaking free from the societal norms of the industries. Even in Simon’s interview from GRAMMY where Simon tackles so many different topics. You could tell what he was saying was entirely different from what all the others that were interviewed had to say. There is so much thought and detail put into this MV. Most likely everyone who theorizes online won’t catch everything they’re trying to say. But we know that XG is always exceeding expectations, telling more than just one story.

@@jlow94 yeh it's pretty sad in a way, the song can be a little too deep for them to understand, and it's easier for them to take it negatively if there's certain insecurities in them... when i look at the lyrics more i realized a huge part of it is talking about the idol / kpop industry and how they treat girls / idols in general... if you look at the chorus lyrics, and imagine those words coming out of like a entertainment company ceo's mouth or something it totally make sense... if you are talking about the lyrics seemed like belittling men, trying to play / control them or something then you don't really get the message. first of all this lyrics is written by 4 males and 1 female, it's very not likely they would disrespect guys. second it's targeted more towards to those who played and controlled girls in a relationship or something, just like andy and jas said, they are reversing this, stand their ground and take back control. 3rd it's also talking about the idol industry especially in korea that the girls usually were like puppet being controlled and no one listen to them etc... hence welcome to the "puppet show" that's the kpop industry...which was pretty much what the chorus described, it make sense when you see those words as if they were coming out from those entertainment industry ceo's mouths or something.... but XG / XGALX are trying to address that, break that and empowering girls to take the control back

The lyrics and meaning is lost by your interpretation and the written lyrics never said him like the RU-vidr you followed said. They said ‘em as them. Please listen to more mature music that is more mindful and complicated with meanings rather than face value if you knew XG music and Simon. Their intentions are never what you assume. The music had more meaning what you can fathom within your bias already without reading the lyrics and understanding them. It is a shame that so many people just make rash judgements without knowing the context and seeking true facts on both sides
