Couldn’t agree more with your reaction to TGIF. I’m not usually a fan of that genre but XG owns it, as they have owned every other genre they’ve tried to far, that’s what makes them so good. It never looks forced, like they are doing something they don’t like or like they are not sure of what they are doing. And as they should because they have the talent to back it all up. I’m excited for their future and I know they are going to be big. ❤❤❤

People can't expect XG to always play hip hop and RMB I love XG because they are different .they are not a broken record trying to sing the same things. That's what make XG great they write songs for different audience I wasn't feeling this song to much . But you can't satisfy everyone. XG is the it girl's of 2023 and 2024 ❤

Exactly ..people they are not going to create ss and left right 2.0 everytime..like let them grow and try different types of music..some people want them to do tippy toes 2.0, others want mascara 2.0 smh...it's good they are doing their own thing and it'll keep on changing

Yeah I like experimentation too, I just don’t think the execution of said experimentation sounds as good as previous songs. I didn’t love GRL GVNG but the production got me. Maybe with headphones I’ll enjoy TGIF more but I wish it had that hard bass to give it a nice foundation.

@@arushisingh4394 Thank you, Say it again! I love that they try and conquer different genres of music. Don't pigeon hole them into just RnB or Pop. That's what sets them apart from other groups. That and the raw, undeniable talent of every member.

7:06 your "Wow" said it. Consistently impressive. It's not ground breaking, but just conceptually consistent with GRL GVNG, and well done. If they ever were able to headline and bring this XG alien aesthetic to a big stage? Whew. I know I have said this before, but if Missy is showing FLO love, someone please put her on to XG. As someone who’s into weird-core, XG this year has been ✨catering to me✨ and I hope they keep up these wild and experimental concepts. The song is funky although not something I’d go out of my way to listen to but I’m excited for the mini!

I think it was such a smart idea to make TGIF a prerelease and give it an MV since the song seems so divisive rn. TGIF is definitely one of those songs elevated by the music video. I wasn't feeling the song at all audio only, but that MV had me screaming. They served and ate. Devoured even. Their charisma is off the charts. Miss Jurin is a superstar, she delivers every performance. Also props to their creative team, because the video editor delivers every time and the creative director needs a raise. XG has consistently delivered since their debut and I'm just so excited every time I see them.

Yeah a heavier bass would’ve been my preference too but I have feeling this song is meant to be remixed, so hopefully it will. the way the song starts seems very dj set friendly

the fact that grl gvng has ASL all throughout the choreo is AMAZING. you literally can't even tell that their speaking another language while dancing, and singing in another. XG are unmatched

TGIF was def for the girls😭 I didn't think I would like it when it started but like you said, they just pull it off. Idk how, but they did. It's very kitch and fun (sorry if I used that wrong cuz I literally googled it when IVE's song came out☠️ I'd never heard it before). Idk if I'll seek it to listen to often, but I def wouldn't skip it. It's a cute song for a workout warm up too🫶🏻🫶🏻 and then I obviously loved the GRL GVNG choreo. I liked that they're branching out and committing to a prop. It can't be easy, so props (pun not intended, but I'll take it) to them for killing it.👏🏻👏🏻

What I think sets this group apart is that is it very obvious that they are taken care of, and they are NOT afraid to do things that are weird, outside of their "genre", uncomfortable, etc....and to me that really sets them apart because it showcases their versatility and ability to enter any space and deliver, regardless of it is their best work, or something a bit lighter and fun like TGIF. I have mad respect for this group's ability to deliver quality work regardless.

You should check out the live stage performance especially inkigayo one. Live vocals and the fact that the chairs spells GRL GVNG. In the beginning it’s all scrambled, and when Chisa’s chorus part comes up and when they line up the chairs in a straight line. It spells the song title

TGIF is not really my thing. I don't hate it tho. Girl Gang is on my playlist (one of my many playlists). I LOVE it. The choreo wasn't as hard as I thought it would be so I didn't love that. But I do understand that they are focusing on the ALS in this one.

I think the choreo isn't hard if you're learning it on your own but like for a group to be that synchronized even with the subtlest movements like moving a chair in sync has to take as much work as their more complicated choreo. Like even their shoulder sways are just in alignment it looks like you're watching multiple mirrors of one person

The choreo itself is not hard, but working with the chairs and moving them around seamlessly, prepping them for walking on, climbing up and down adds a whole level of difficulty! Don't underestimate the difficulty of using those chairs! 😂 Plus add in the unfamilarity of the different stages, bright lights shining on their faces during perf (can't see well) etc, they must have practiced so hard to get everything absolutely perfect ❤

What I meant by "hard" is tough, aggressive hip hop. For me the energy of the choreography didn't match the energy of the song. The difficulty was apparent. They are skilled dancers and technicians. Just wanted it to be a bit grittier or swaggier.

Tbh on my first listen, I wasn’t feeling it. But watching it with the MV, I felt like I understood how they wanted this song to be. Nothing too serious, something fun and weird and easy to dance. Really smart of them to bring this song to life. I feel like it’s not everyone’s cup of tea because it’s so gay-coded (no offense) and not everyone vibes to drag/cunty music - if that makes sense. But it’s def fun to dance with girl friends and I bet it’s a banger when the song is being done live. What’s super nice is the energy and confidence XG brings. They can make the most out of place song into something trendy. 😂 Don’t stop experimenting, XG! We love you for being ✨you✨

I didn't look into it beyond this being a b side and them just having fun. They still delivered visually and the choreography...I have a hunch who choreographed it and they absolutely nailed it. I will admit, though, Cocona and Maya's verses definitely carried!
