I got one from a Chinese seller for us$5.5 (AC-AC Adapter included) Looking at your board layout, I am quite sure it is the same one as this in the video. But mine is with sanyo's electrolytic caps and the 10uF ones are those tiny ceramic caps

I am designing a cabinet looking case for these. I used mine for a guitar preamp and while still playing with that, the case is coming a long nicely. I don't want to come off as a bot but if anyone is interested in it I would be interested in confirming measurements with similar units by different manufacturers - message me and I will share my blog post.

What power adapter to use on this? The specs says 12volts ‘AC’! All I have is a 12volts DC adapter.

It should be AC if there is labeld like that.. Other way will not work properly.. Well I try mine on 12V DC now and it' s working.. But I is some noise be heared in the background.. Probably will not be ok on longer term..

ALS-TechReview I guess I’ll just use a 220v~12v, 1amp transformer that cost $3 online. Hope it won’t emit some nasty smoke! 🤞😄😄😄

ALS-TechReview 😄😄 with a little research I just found out that you really need to use a transformer, not an AC-DC adapter. 👍

It takes AC input There is a 4-diode full bridge rectifier in the curcuit

Well, the first 4 mins 20 secs was interesting. The rest was an amateurish waste of time accompanied by excruciatingly unlistenable music..

AGREE!!! I HAVE THIS UNIT, I USE A DOOR BELL TRANSFORMER, THE FIRTS WEEK OF USE, IT WASN'T GOOD, AFTER THAT WEEK, IT STARTED TO SOUND BETTER, AFTER 15 DAYS OF CONSTANT USE, IT SOUNDS REALLY GOOD. I THOUGHT TUBES WEREN'T FOR ME... NOW, IM LOOKING INTO GETTING ANOTHER ONE WITH A TPA3255 AMP. MAYBE A SCHIIT BRAND.
